Wow for all you drinkers my tidbits

Drink of Day always fun to try.
At certain clubs you can get pitchers of certain mixed drinks
The refillable mug can be refilled with extra beer or pre-mixed drinks for the six extra ounces
Wine package beware. If you are a white wine drinker you may be paying more.
If you are ordering wine best to always get bottle. It can travel with you from dining room to dining room or you can take it with you so I can try.
Ask room attendant for Large ice container to ice down your frosty in room treats
Those little 6 oz water bottles with sport caps make excllent make shift flasks for carrying.
Always ask at bar if there is a special outside drink of day.
Cozumel will be best port for bringing liquor on board. There is a nice duty free shop at end of ramp. You can even pay the bike carriage guys for a lift. (Duty free modern store and they take credit)
Tequila and magarita tasting are combined event when I did it.
Beware of the souvenir glass. You may pay for one even if you do not want it.
If you plan on buying 5 cans of beer order 6. 6th one free. via room service. Same goes with can soda etc.
This strategy works well at dinner. You can have a cold six pack n a bucket at the table and you carry what is left upopened

Free drinks

Art auction... I love art!!!!
Captains gala
castaway club reception (soft drinks only and rice krispy mickey heads)
If we skip a port Woo Hoo!!!!
shops a cozumel sample tequila

I'm liking your list:drinking1 :drinking1 We are hoping to do the Martini and also the Margarita & Tequila tastings.

Janet and I plan to dress up as well. Just a pirate shirt and head wear, nothing fancy.

We are now booked to do Capt Marvin's 10 AM stingray City excursion in Grand Cayman. We will meet at 9:15. So I guess we need to be off the ship between 8 and 8:30. Anyone else book this excusion?

In Cozumel we are doing the 11AM Royal Dolphin Swim. I can not wait. I have alway booked with DCL but this time it made more sense to attempt to book independently. Lois

Can I have your attention please

party:Today marks my 100 days till vacation time LMAO :jumping1:

Tiffany- oww your poor mommy I hope she is better! :(

Has anyone ever shipped anything to the port/ship. I have read about it and would love to send my f/e stuff and the boys goggles flippers and snorkle sets but.. well im sort of skured too :scared1: It would be my luck it gets lost or something... Wondering if anyone is thinking of doing this also?

Just one more reason to use door magnets. I will always be able to find our room if I put our name on the door! :lmao:
Besides, if I look like i'm walking funny, or I run into a wall or two, it is just because I am getting used to the rocking of the ship :rolleyes1

Well here is a question. I do not see the 9/27 cruise listed as one that will be offered the 2 day Get away package at castaway. Do you know something I have missed? I would love to do that. Lois

To those of you who have been to Grand Cayman: If I go to Boatswain's Marine Park on our own, how far is it to buy rum cakes? Within walking distance?

hey all just found this and wanted to put it our for any of you non Regular World park natives.... lol. I knew about the extra hours just didnt know where to find this info.. thought you would find out each day when you stayed at the resort..anyhow...

If your planning to do time in Disneyworld and are staying at one of the resorts the parks open one hour earlier to resort guest and stay open 3 hours later ... heres more info along with the days for extra hours

Extra Magic Hours

Each day one of the Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular Park closing, so Disney Resort Guests* can enjoy easy access to select attractions — even the most popular ones! With Extra Magic Hours, you can make the most of your vacation time and see and do everything at an easy, relaxed pace.

If you want to take advantage of this benefit and have a Magic Your Way Base Ticket, your Theme Park selection must be the Park offering the Extra Magic Hours benefit that day. Remember, you can only visit one Theme Park per day with the Magic Your Way Base Ticket. To get the most out of the Extra Magic Hours benefit, just add the Park Hopper® Option to your ticket. Then you can go from Theme Park to Theme Park on the same day, including whichever Park has Extra Magic Hours.

To take advantage of Extra Magic Hours at the Water Parks, you must have a Resort I.D. and the Water Park Fun & More Option on your Magic Your Way Ticket or a One Day Water Park Ticket for the Park offering the Extra Magic Hours benefit that day.

Hi All -

Just wondering how many of the adults get dressed up for Pirate night and if so, what do you wear?

I would like to but not sure what I can throw together.

Thanks,
Crissi

We also dress but not Dress pirate:

DH and I both wear a Black Pirates of the Caribbean Tshirt from the Disney Store and I have the Pirate Mickey Ears and maybe a dubloon around our necks..

Erik: Will watch for PM, Thanks again for all your hard work:hug:

Will do Marini tasting, DONT like Tequilla, but dh does so he would be game

Tiffany: sorry about your mom, hope she is feeling better

I think we have firmed up our plans also

Cozumel: Dolphin Encounter 1PM
Cayman Island: Pirate encounter, then turtle farm if we have time and feel like it
both of these with Crissichef
Castaway Cay: I think we will do the bike, snorkel, float mat combo:love:

I hope to dress up with something, I bought Steve pirate shorts from Old Navy, Rachel has Elizabeth Swan costume and Matthew has Capt Jack. I would love to do a cute skirt and find the white off the shoulder shirt, if not then just a pirate T shirt:)

I know what you mean about 'enough beach'. I'm more of a mountain-lovin' girl myself. Beach is ok, but gets old after a while. Yeah, yeah......time to duck after that comment. :duck:

I forget.....do you have kids? If so, how old? How do you think they'll do at Stingray City w/all the rays? We're planning on doing the Stingray thing on CC where its a little calmer so DD (5) will have a chance to interact w/them before we get to GC. At aquariums, she's been a bit timid w/the touch pools, but warmed up eventually. I think its a matter of confidence for her. If need be, DH or I will hang out on the boat w/her on GC for stingray city.

We love those mountains too! (Got married in Cades Cove / Have traveled the entire Blue Ridge Parkway on motorcycle at least five times / Hiked Appalachian Trail through Smoky Mountains)

Our son just turned 4 and we don't know how he'll react to the rays or open water in general. He has touched little rays many times at Lowry Park Zoo here in Tampa, and he takes swimming lessons... but if he freaks out and wants to stay in the boat that'll be fine. It sounds like the crew is great about bringing stuff to the boat for the squeamish set.

I am so sorry I missed that post. Just can't keep up. I will book the 2 day if it (the web site) will let me. Thank you so much for keeping me in the loop and letting me know it will be available. Lois

Hi, Lois.

It is listed on the excursions page once your able to log-in to reserve your excursions. Its towards the bottom of the options for Castaway Cay: Two-Day Castaway Cay Getaway Package.

Hi all. We are back from our quick weekend visit with Eirk and Jason. Oh, we had such a nice time. Wickedwas just as wonderful as everyone always says :thumbsup2 and visiting wirh Jason and Erik (and seeing their oh so fabulous house) was the BEST:cloud9:
Inspired by Erik and Jason I am spending the rest of the week working on projects that I have been meaning to get to. Today I am going through EVERYTHING in the playroom and taking it all out. When I am finished half of the items will be in the garage for a big time sale. The other half will be sitting (as many now are) in my dining room awaiting their new homes. Next up I will hang a number of decorating items we have bought but not put up for Marika yet and move her into that room. Then we will be moving Rio into Marika's old room (he'll have soooo much more space and we can put his bunk beds back up) and we'll make Rio's little room into a dedicated guest room. It is so much easier to do all of this minus one kid:idea:

Allright, here is a quick Question of the Week I DO realize that those of you who have not cruised DCL cannot answer this one. However, I was still finding palces to get treats on our last cruise (number 5) so I thought you can still enjoy LEARNING about all the great places to grab a bite on the Magic (I hope you'll forgive me for only including you in this way just this once anyway:flower3: ) What is your favourite place to grab a quick between meals snack on the Magic???

Me: I always loop through Diversions in the afternoon to see if they have a nacho bar set up (sometimes they do and sometimes not and it seems to go up anywhere between 2:30ish and 6:00ish). If there are no nachos there, I try the Promenade for chips and Salsa (again a hit or miss kind of thing)

Dave: Cove Cafe(this is the one we only found out about on our last trip--not being cofee drinkers we'd never been in the Cove Cafe.). He is espcially happy if they put out olives and cheese in the afternoon. Also Rockin' Bar D around 10:00 ish if chocolate covered strawberries or jalapeno poppers make it onto the table.

Marika: Goofy's. She is frequently seen with a plate of fresh fruit while wandering deck 9.:hippie:

Rio: Room service:woohoo: He gets a Mickey Bar every day and also enjoys their triple decker grilled cheeses.

Both kids (an extra): Drink station/scoops. They get a big cup form the drink station. Take it to scoops and add some ice cream. Then back to the drink station for soda to complete a float (Marika always pines for root beer at this point)

What is your favourite place to grab a quick between meals snack on the Magic???

Well, the answer of the week is I'm not sure yet! It's the first Disney Cruise for my DBF and I so we can answer that one after October 4th! :)

Hadley, I'm so jealous of your WICKED adventure! It will be ending its Los Angeles run in January; I need to get back out at least a couple more times to see it. Even my kids are obsessed... my 3yo dd's favorite compliment is "popular" - I was trying on dresses and to show approval for the one she liked she told me "Mommy, you look so popular!" :lmao: And lately she has taken to toting her brother's stuffed Yoda around in a baby stroller and calling it "Green Baby Elphaba". :rotfl2: I really need to get her a little babydoll and dye/paint it green - she would flip!

We listen to the soundtrack every day and they're constantly saying something to crack me up... a few weeks ago we were listening to "No Good Deed" and during the part where Elphaba is chanting the spell my 6yo DS pipes up with "Mommy! I didn't know Elphaba spoke Spanish!" :rotfl:

Oh my gosh! That is so funny! I have loved Wicked for years...literally and it is always on the top of my CD pile!

Elphaba spoke Spanish! LOL!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
