We will see you there we booked the 1:00pm Dolphin Encounter yesterday as well!

Wow! I have a count of 9 DISers and their families going to the 1:00! They must have more than one spot to do these encounters (I'm hoping anyways!). Otherwise, our dolphins are going to have to spread the love pretty thin! :rotfl:

Either that or they will be so tired from all of us, they won't know what to do! I can just see a bunch of exhausted dolphins laying around thinking, "what just happened?!" LOL!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:woohoo: We just booked the Buccaneer Catamaran excursion to Stingray Sandbar, Coral Gardens and Barrier Reef in GC. :woohoo:

Things to do list:

Buy our MNSSHP tickets ...

Make our FE hangers that Jen, the kids and I, designed on Monday evening ..

Finish our door signs...

Decide how to pack light for 6 people - very, very, light - there goes my OC of shoes, shoes and more shoes :hyper:

Speaking of planes, I was wondering if the kids can have a carry-on and use a backpack as their personal item? How large can my purse be in addition to my carry on?

Now might be the perfect trip to take old underwear and toss them out as you wear them to make room for souveniers????? ::yes::

Check with your airline. Seriously. With all the changes lately, I'm not saying squat. Even the DISBoards chart for airlines' baggage info has been out of date for a couple airlines.

*blink blink blink* It makes sense, but how much underwear are you planning on packing and trashing??? :rotfl: My stuff I could trash barely filled a gallon ziploc! :rotfl: If I could make a suggestion, grab either the big huge ziplocs or the storage bags that let you squeeze out the air, and SQUASH all your clothes into those. Use see through containers, and they'll be fine for going through TSA -and- be water-proof, in case your baggage is left in the rain at the airport (yes, this has happened to others during summer weather). We packed all of Fiona's Princess dresses into one of those storage bags and instead of only fitting those 3 poufy dresses in a bag, we were able to layer the rest of the stuff for that bag on top. When we got on the boat, we just hung her stuff up.

I'm also saving the plastic cubes my sheet sets come in to pack stuff into.

Hope that helps!

Just remember to check the weight on those bags... Thankfully, we still get "free" bag checking for this trip... TG we bought those tickets EARLY!

I wasn't serious about the underwear.....I have a wierd sense of humor:goodvibes

I am a fan of ziploc bags also. I used them in April on my trip to the Domician Republic and they worked great! Since I put my dirty clothes in them daily, it made packing to come home really fast.

I also packed my suitcase two weeks before the trip and took it to my local post office to be weighed so I could make adjustments if necessary.

I didn't know whether to chuckle or take you seriously! I kept looking at your username and thinking "Well, granny panties ARE kinda big... maybe she's serious???" :duck:

Welcome back! Sounds like Erik's house inspired you the way a trip to IKEA always inspires me. I get home and I look around and think how can I make this more EFFICIENT? :rotfl:

I'm going to say this is a toss-up between room service, for the whole milk and cookies or cheese plate thing any time you want it, and Cove Cafe for the lovely pastries. Also, Cove Cafe makes a mean mochaccino. :hyper:

How funny you should compare the "effect" that my house had on Hadley to the "effect" that IKEA has on you....because our house is very IKEA-style. We actually only own a few small things from IKEA (picture frames, vases, candle holders, etc.). Most of the large pieces in our house (shelves, coffee tables, curtains, throw pillows, etc) are all things that Jason and I designed and built ourselves (oh yes, that's right...we're VERY butch and handy! :rotfl2: We even own a table saw!! :lmao: :lmao: ) However, I am very inspired by IKEA so people often see our house and think we decorated from there....which I always think is a great compliment since IKEA rocks! :goodvibes

I booked our excursion for Grand Cayman. We're going with the Nativeway Watersports Stingray & Island tour. I think it'll be pretty comprehensive and it's from 9:30 to 1:30, so I don't think we'll have any problems with tenders. Anyone joining us?

::yes:: It does seem to be changing from day to day. ::yes::

I was going to remind everyone of the same thing about checking the weight! Over weight luggage costs you more than an extra suitcase!

BTW, :welcome: Nette!! Did you think you would just slip by unnoticed? :cool2: I'm not sure if you've been lurking around for awhile or not, so in case you haven't, I just want to make sure you've found Post #6! In the event you haven't looked at it yet, it will get you up to speed on things we have going on. You can also "register" yourself officially to the rollcall list! :)

Erik, I just wanted to congratulate you and Jason on achieving your fundraising goal for the AIDS Walk! I had your page bookmarked, and I was looking for something, running across yours. So I took a peek!

Thank you very much! We actually far exceeded our goal! :yay: Originally we had hoped to raise $1500....but we actually raised our goal a couple tims and ended up raising over $3700 through aggressive fundraising and the amazing generosity of colleagues, family & friends (not the least of which are people like you and Hadley & Dave....and their two AMAZING children, Rio & Marika...who donated out of their OWN pockets to support us!! )

We were the 3rd highest individual fundraisers of the whole event!!

If I keep gaining weight I might be up to the "old fashion" granny look by September!!!;)

Question of the week....

Okay, I know it sounds strange but the only thing I had between meals was ice cream from Scoops and the DOD:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Looking forward to finding some other spots I'm hearing about from all of you!!!!

BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! That is not "strange" in the slightest!!! :rotfl2: I am a Scoops addict...a fanatic....it's not at all unheard of for me to make multiple stops to Scoops throughout the day.....one can NEVER have too much soft serve ice cream in their life!!! (Scoops, by the way, is the answer for both Jason and I to the question of the week)

I was going to remind everyone of the same thing about checking the weight! Over weight luggage costs you more than an extra suitcase!

After accidently going over the weight limit (I love to shop at WDW!!!!) and having to pay, my mom went out and invested in a suitcase scale! LOL!!!!

My kids and dh all love scoops. Our oldest was always willing to make a trip to scoops for us. :)

I didnt think to go to Diversions for snacks etc. Great tip. :)

On the morning buffet, they always had fresh raspberries etc, we would get an extra bowl and keep it in our cooler, that way the kids had a great healthy snack. :)
We need to use room service more too.

I booked the Dolphin Encounter last week, do they send paperwork via the mail? thanks.

:rotfl: Well, at least I hope it is happy weight! You know, like how scrawny people get married and start gaining weight because they're happy? That kind! :thumbsup2 We have a CRUISE to go on! :cool1:

Hadley, for QOTW:
Me: Anywhere there's food. I'm not picky, but it all is good.
DH: Anywhere there's food he can eat.
Fiona: Anywhere that has carrot sticks, frosting, ketchup, or ice cream, she loves! :rotfl:
GammaRee: Anywhere that has umbrellas for the drinks :rotfl:

We bought one last year, too, before the TransAtlantic....and it's one of our best purchases ever! It was very cheap and it's very small....it's handheld and it works like an old fashioned grocery/produce scale...you but the hook through the handle of your suitcase and then lift it using the scale and it tells you the weight of your bag....we pack it and take it with us so we always know after packing and repacking (and shopping!) where our bags fall in terms of weight. I'd recommend everyone go out and grab one.....they're cheap at Walmart, Target, department stores, etc.
