...Oh and does anyone know for sure our shore times in Cozumel? They are not listed under my DCL reservation, and Dreams has Cozumel day listed as 10:30am-10:30 pm.....

The times that I have are in Post #6...but we all know that can change. I certainly have no idea about Grand Cayman. So if anyone sees any of those times wrong in Post #6, please let me know!

...Is anyone planning on getting tickets for any of the tastings on board (wine, margarita, martini, beer)? From what I have read, these are pretty fun and well worth the cost.....

I would really like to go to the martini tasting!! I just have to remember to put my cabin number on my nametag so someone can roll me back home! :rotfl: I'm SUCH a lightweight!

Selket: Yes, I've already booked excursions (105 days) and the Castaway Cay excursions had the 2 day rentals listed. :hippie:

Hope that helps!

Happy Monday everyone :duck:

A couple of questions, just for conversations sake: I know that the ship is pretty much full, but I was wondering if any of you are going to be trying for an upgrade at the port?

And

Is anyone planning on getting tickets for any of the tastings on board (wine, margarita, martini, beer)? From what I have read, these are pretty fun and well worth the cost. I think DH and I will be doing the Beer & Margarita tastings if they offer them. Hey, maybe we will do the wine and martini as well :rolleyes1

We did the wine & Tequila tasting while the kids were running around the ship...you can sign up for them onboard...if you want we can go together...
sounds like we have the same taste...I mean your going to the beach break also...:cool2:

We have done all but the margarita they are alot of fun. I'm in for the Margarita and would do the martini again. The beer one we did was all imported beers and the only one I really liked was the cider beer.

The Margarita tasting is really a Tequila tasting...you get three or four different Tequila and two margarita's....The wine was good also...Wife loves wine...I love Tequila

We've talked about doing the wine tasting...and I'll send DH with anyone who wants to do the beer tasting (don't like beer....never have though I've tried several different types).

Hey has anyone every done the semi-submersible in Grand Cayman? it isn't an official Disney cruise and with a timid 4 year old boy I thought this might be better than the full sub (would do the dolphin encounter but I think he would freak with them in his face. )

Did you see my other husband... Derek LMAO (that boy is hot:furious: lol)

Ya I need to get me one of those free pass people... E or the boys need to hurry up and go into law enforcement! ::cop: Cuz being the wife of a marine doesnt get you out of crap lol.

Oh and for those of my fellow drink of the day "club members" . :: coughs::: Erika, and Fatcat LOL I got my new Rachel Ray mag and in it, was a drink receipe that sounded YUMMO lmao....
1 12 oz can frozen limeade
1 1.2 cups te-kill-ya
1/2 cuz triple sec
2 qts tonic chilled
1 pint tangerine, lemon, or lime sherbert.

Made it this weekend after a hot day out watching soccer games of a friends lil girl... OMG it was the best! :worship: does scoops have sherbert??? if so I know what im making after a long day in port!

Mmmmmmmmm.......I wonder if I am going to have any sober moments on this cruise? :rotfl:

For the CC excursions I notice that some cruises through Aug. that stop twice there are allowed to book 2 days of snorkel equipment or 2 days of float rental for a discount.

Do you think that will open up to our cruise?

I already booked it, so yes :thumbsup2

It sounds like Rum Point is great, but we figured we'd get enough beach at CC and wanted to get back to the Ship early. Hopefully, we'll have a moment to shop for a quick trinket and still make it in time to have (free) lunch on board.

Our Rum Point excursion leaves at 8:20 am :scared1: and returns around 2pm. Which is good, because I need the rest of that time to lug all of those rum cakes back to the boat. Might need to make two trips :rolleyes1

We did the wine tasting a few years ago and while it was fun and informative, we likely won't do it again. That being said, I did the unofficial martini tasting at Diversions two cruises ago (read: asked for the martini flight) and it was AWESOME. I would totally be up for doing the official tasting, as long as someone can point me in the direction of my room afterwards......

Yay! Us too! We'll float by one another like ships in the night.....

When you get the PM from me....please don't ignore it...shoot me a quick reply just confirming that your info is all correct OR giving me the needed corrections.
This will go a long way in helping me make sure that everyone is as happy with their lanyards as I hope they'll be!!
Thanks!!

I'll be watching for the PM :thumbsup2

We could fill these things up with Disers! It would make for some great stories in our TR's :rotfl: :rolleyes1

I believe that when I called DCL direct about Grand Cayman times, they said
ashore time = 7:30AM local time
on board time = 4:30PM local time

7:30AM would be the time the 1st tender is available & takes 10-15 min to actually get to the pier from the ship.

I was checking to make sure we would be able to make an 8:15AM meet time for an independently booked excursion.

Hope this helps.

Doug and I are in for some of these also! We did our own unofficial Martini tasting on the Wonder with the bartender in Palo's. She was making them for us and by the end of the 3 day cruise we had tasted 12 different Martinis. Anyone want to meet at the bar in Palo's for our own Martini tasting? If Palo's on the Magic is the same as the Wonder we could get about a dozen or more of us in there between the bar stools and the seating around the bar. :rotfl: There are no reservations required to drink at the bar! Doug even had to purchase a new dress shirt because he didn't bring enough dress clothes to keep visiting the bar each night before dinner.

I've been out with new computer problems (Vista  ). Now I am all better with a brand new desktop computer all loaded with XP Pro.

I was at my Mom's when the info about CM was announced, but I think Doug and I have made our decisions and will be ready to book at the 90 day mark.

The reason I was at my Mom's was because she fell while working on her house and cut her arm. She had to have 19 stitches and holds the record for the most stitches from a non-vehicular accident in New Hanover County Emergency Room.

She is healing and doing better every day.

Have a great day everyone!

Tiffany

Oh Tiffany! Yikes! That is NOT a record you want to hold! I'm glad she's doing better though!

Brandie, thank you for the CC discount validation. I had a blurb on that being a possibility on Post #6, so I've updated it with your find. I also passed it along to the other DD cruises Oct-Dec. I know one of them recently had the same inquiry posted, so that will help them, too!

I know what you mean about 'enough beach'. I'm more of a mountain-lovin' girl myself. Beach is ok, but gets old after a while. Yeah, yeah......time to duck after that comment. :duck:

I forget.....do you have kids? If so, how old? How do you think they'll do at Stingray City w/all the rays? We're planning on doing the Stingray thing on CC where its a little calmer so DD (5) will have a chance to interact w/them before we get to GC. At aquariums, she's been a bit timid w/the touch pools, but warmed up eventually. I think its a matter of confidence for her. If need be, DH or I will hang out on the boat w/her on GC for stingray city.

Wow, I hope she is okay.

Wow for all you drinkers my tidbits

Drink of Day always fun to try.
At certain clubs you can get pitchers of certain mixed drinks
The refillable mug can be refilled with extra beer or pre-mixed drinks for the six extra ounces
Wine package beware. If you are a white wine drinker you may be paying more.
If you are ordering wine best to always get bottle. It can travel with you from dining room to dining room or you can take it with you so I can try.
Ask room attendant for Large ice container to ice down your frosty in room treats
Those little 6 oz water bottles with sport caps make excllent make shift flasks for carrying.
Always ask at bar if there is a special outside drink of day.
Cozumel will be best port for bringing liquor on board. There is a nice duty free shop at end of ramp. You can even pay the bike carriage guys for a lift. (Duty free modern store and they take credit)
Tequila and magarita tasting are combined event when I did it.
Beware of the souvenir glass. You may pay for one even if you do not want it.
If you plan on buying 5 cans of beer order 6. 6th one free. via room service. Same goes with can soda etc.
This strategy works well at dinner. You can have a cold six pack n a bucket at the table and you carry what is left upopened

Free drinks

Art auction... I love art!!!!
Captains gala
castaway club reception (soft drinks only and rice krispy mickey heads)
If we skip a port Woo Hoo!!!!
shops a cozumel sample tequila

Hi All -

Just wondering how many of the adults get dressed up for Pirate night and if so, what do you wear?

I would like to but not sure what I can throw together.

Thanks,
Crissi

We will be dressing up. DH will be in jeans and a black T-shirt with a skull & crossbones on it. I also bought him a "Jack Sparrow Kit" (stick on beaded facial hair) but as of now, he is refusing to wear it :lmao:

I will be dressed up too, but neither of us will be going all out like our kids pirate:
