Looking forward to this cruise!:wizard:

PS has anyone kept up with the thread about skipping the dining room?
We will probably do this a few nights, because we are slugs!;)

We are going to opt for the earlier MNSSHP (on the 23rd instead of the 26th).
:yay: :yay: That way we can be well rested when we board the Newly Refurbished Magic!!!:yay: :yay:

I went to Manhattan this weekend to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. It was very good! I highly recommend it. I also had the chance to go in the NYC World of Disney. I wasn't too impressed. I guess I'm spoiled from having lived so close to the 'real' thing for so long.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Does anyone know if you can Reserve the Back Room of Palo for Dinner? We would have a total of 11 adults.. :confused3

Yes. DCL told me you can reserve the room for dinner and/or brunch. You need a minimum of 12, max of 14. The only time you can't is Tea.

Thank You.. :thumbsup2
I ended up calling DL and found out the info.

As for Tea.. You can try and reserve that as soon as reservations opens online at midnight on the 90 day mark on the DCL site.. This past December I was kicking myself because I waited to talk to DH and when he said Yes, do it.. it was Booked so we never did get a High Tea :guilty:

Thanks again Paul. I am a frequent visitor to the Diney Cruise Line site. Although it gives our itinarary so you know where the ship will be each day. Unfortunately, you can't look at the excursions for our cruise yet and it doesn't give any information about which night is pirate night or formal night... I am going to ask my TA when we get a month or so from being able to book things. As a repeat crusier, I can book 90 days out. So near the end of June, I will ask her for her best information about what is happening on which nights.

From what I can remember from when I did the DD in 2006, pirate night was Wed. night the day we are at Cozumel and formal night has been the first day at sea. (Monday). Hope thus helps. subject to change of course.

Paul

Oh yes...isn't it fun?! Jason and I saw it last year when we went to NYC around my birthday and had tickets to see Lion King, Mary Poppins, and Tarzan. Unfortunately a few weeks before we went they announced that Tarzan was closing and ending its run immediately so we got refunded those tickets and decided to see Legally Blonde instead---which we loved. Hey everyone. I have an AMAZING T.A. (Hadley can vouch for that because she has started working with her at my recommendation, too! :goodvibes ) who is always willing to dig up info for me. I sent her an email over the weekend asking her if she knew anything about the theme night schedule and also if she had any info about the Costa Maya excursions that might be offered (the Cozumel ones are already on the DCL website and I've already put about 10 of them on my wish list with the site! LOL). Here is her reply to me:

As far as what night is formal night and so on…in general the formal & semi formal nights are usually on the at sea nights and Pirate Night is on Cozumel night but again, this info hasn’t yet been published for the Costa Maya sailings so all that can change.

I know it’s not much but I hope this info helps.

Talk to you soon!
*************************************

Now please understand that, as she stated in the email, NONE of this information is official yet...but it does give you an idea of some of the types of activities, excursions and costs we might expect when the official list of excursions is released. Also it looks like she pretty much concurs with everyone else on which night is pirate night, etc.

Last cruise, the system didn't recognize our Castaway Club number, and then it took us hours to get it straightened out. They ended up giving us new numbers, and by then, too late. No Tea. No Tea when we got on board, and I was probably the third person in line for it.

Oh well. It could be worse. I could have to cancel my trip.

Julie

Thanks Erik for posting the excursions. The one to Kohunlich sounds great. We did Chaccohoben on our last double dip with a non-Disney contractor and it was great. I can't imagine hauling two toddlers off to the jungle. One of them would probably get carried off by coatis or sloths or something.

Julie

Erik, you (and your TA)

party: ****ROCK*****party:

Methinks this group will probably crash the DCL site trying to make the ressies on day 90 at midnight.......

I didn't know you had tickets for Xanadu. We had so much fun at that show--you'll have a blast I am sure (of course, watch the movie again first).

Oh yeah, I CAN vouch for Erik's totally awesome TA!

I am hearing about more people regarding lanyards. Thanks to everyone who is helping to be sure we know who everyone is.

Thanks, Erik for the Costa Maya unofficial news! FYI to everyone, I've added his post to Post #6 under a new section called "Excursions". I added the other two destinations as well.

Julie, I'm with you on Kohunlich Ruins. Based on what others here have posted, I think they sound amazing. I'm pretty sure that's going to be my choice. :thumbsup2

Mary Poppins is great! I saw it last year...I also saw Tarzan...it was good but it wasn't anywhere near Mary Poppins.

I just saw Legally Blonde a few weeks ago! Laura Bell Bundy was AMAZING in it! My twin and I did the Elle's Lounge VIP Experiece and actually got to talk with a few of the cast members after the show. Laura Bell Bundy was one of them...she's very nice.

Another Wicked fan!!!!!! :yay: :yay: 16 times... I'm jealous yet I :worship: you! I've seen Wicked on broadway three times...twice with Idina Menzel (who is just amazing!!!!) That will always be my favorite show.

You'll have to let us know how Little Mermaid is...I've heard some very good things about it. I purchased the soundtrack and love listening to it...it's funny to think that Ursela is Sheri Renee Scott who was in Aida. She has such a lovely voice. I'm hoping to see TLM sometime this year.

We are thinking of doing Kohunlich as well.

Ok is the tea that popular? That is the one thing my mother is really looking forward to doing on the cruise I hope we are able to book it in advance or on the cruise itself.

We are thinking of doing Kohunlich as well.

Oh good! I'm sure we'll have a decent showing of DISers on that excursion!

Have you made a decision on Pop Century pre-cruise, Lisa? My DBF is coming onto the idea of going with me to WDW. He mentioned it again on Friday, so I may have surprisingly hooked him in. ;) We'll see. However, I'm not sure he'll stay the whole week. Of course mom and grandmother will join me on Friday as we head to Port Cananveral.

***Fish Extender/ Secret Mickey Time****

HI all Kimberly has asked me to head the Fish Extender list and I have taken it on with lots of excitement:thumbsup2 !!!! Now seeing as though this is My 1st Disney Cruise bear with me LOL. Being that I have never done this before basically I’m going to throw out a few ideas and thought as a group we could tweak it.

I know some have said they would rather buy for 1 person/cabin. Like a secret Santa if you will. I’m fine with that too. Others have said they would like to have a list and go buck wild getting everyone/cabin etc a gift. That is great too. I’m all for doing both! Fine with setting up both list (or multiple list for that matter) Another issue or suggestion was splitting the list up if it gets to large. Some would like keeping it to kids others for just adults. I’m game for breaking the list down any which way.:teacher:

So let me hear your suggestions. I’ll keep a running list and majority rules. Everyone ok with that? This way we can set up the “guidelines”. Again its not written in stone, and if you don’t follow it to the T you wont be asked to walk the plank... you’ll just have to buy a drink of the day to the Fish extender coordinator LMAO jk :drinking1

SECRET MICKEYS: The jest of it is, names are put in a hat, and drawn (I’ll do that) then you get a gift for that person (or cabin if we do it that way). There is a max amount to spend, I’ll throw out $25 (but we can play with this) Then during the cruise you find some way to deliver it to your assigned person/cabin and then later reveille yourself. Another thing to do is leave little things everyday to your Secret Mickey in there Fish Extender then on the last night you can reveal yourself with a larger gift if you like. Just throwing out some ideas. But really its all up to you, have fun with it, get creative.

FISH EXTENDERS GIFT EXCHANGE: Here you can bring trinkets from home, made or bought, basically whatever your heart contends and drop them in everyone’s extender.

WHAT is a FISH EXTENDER you ask? It’s a type of wall hanging pocket holder. You hang it off the metal fish next to your door. Here’s a link for some inspiration to design your own (get creative!http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607 Or if you like I have seen ebay with some.

So please let me know if you would rather do the Secret Mickey or participate in the Fish Extender Gift Exchange, or BOTH. This way we can start planning/buying/making etc. Yes I know we have MONTHS still till we cruise but some of us have OCP (obsessive compulsive planning disorder LOL). Plus it helps the anticipation of waiting for the cruise’s arrival! Please PM or email me so that I don’t miss how you would like to “PLAY”, along with a list of those in your cabin, names and ages. Also if you have family and/or friends that will be cruising with us to that don’t frequent the board but will be participating please let me know their info also.

I have the list that Kimberly has compiled of all those that would like to participate. But if anyone else would like to join please PM me, or email me anewmac@gmail.com. Just be sure to add the words FISH EXTENDER in the subject so I don’t miss it or delete it.

We are flying from LAX. We arrive in LA at lunchtime on 22nd Sept (too late to connect to any flights unless we wait at the airport for 10 hours :scared1: ). We fly to MCO on the 23rd (mid morning). Flying United as they are a partner airline of Air NZ.

Tania

Oops, I was wrong sorry.. we are flying out of Ontario,Ca. We looked into LAX, but Ontario was cheaper. Did you find a hotel to stay in when you get to FL? I think we are going to stay at the airport.

Anybody know if there are discounts for the MCO airport hotel besides Military or Gov?
