...For those that haven't seen this info before (or just want to refresh the memory - its been a year now), here's the link to the page where Hadley's posts starts - its on our 1st meet thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1344864&page=46
The posts continue through page 48, I believe. There are some really nice photos as well.

If found a breather to go look at our website. It is indeed there, along with the specific post numbers!

This review is what's convinced me to take this tour. I'm also taking the advice that because it is so far away and lengthy, I'm not going to book this on my own. I will feel much better knowing DCL will get me back on the ship if the bus would break down or any other unforeseen problem.

Thanks for the confirmation, Kimberly.

Ditto on not booking it on my own. The dolphin experience in Cozumel is one thing - this one though is MUCH further away. I know how our luck runs - ours would be the transportation to break down & then have to find a way to get back to the ship in time. NOT what what I want to spend my vac doing.

That being said, I do want to bring school supplies - such a small thing we can do to really help other folks. If there is a group that decides to book w/an independent vendor who can get the supplies directly to those who need them, I am happy to hand the supplies over to them. If there isn't a group to book w/an independent, perhaps Dave or Ivan would still meet us at the port to collect them. We still have a few months to get this squared away though.....no worries.

first, let me apologize for the non-caps. i was in an accident a few weeks ago and i broke my shoulder, so typing has become a real chore.

qotw

me - ice cold molson canadian from the can - i also like sangria but can't drink that in public because my friends call me a girl

carol - orange tropical smoothie flavoured bacardi rum breezer

katie - cherry kool-aid

jacob - lemonade

we have booked the mayan experience tour with dave and ivan. the kids are coming along with us, ivan said they will have a blast making tortillas with our host family.

talk to y'all again soon.

I am not feeling very creative today so here is a simple question of the week in honour of our weather:

What is your favourite COLD thing to drink on a hot day???

I have to say I wish we were having this heat wave everyone else is having!

My favorite Drink would be ice water (no lemons either!). Now if we were talking alcohol it would be a Martini

Mom's favorite Drink would be diet coke...alcoholic would be margarita.

You are correct. If you are a CC member, you can book at 90 days but only if you are paid in full at that time. For us CC members that means at midnight EST on July 29th we're allowed to book online.

*poke, poke* umm excuse me.. you mean JUNE 29th, not July ::cop:

Question of the week: Favorite cold drink on a hot day:

Well, since we are have record breaking LOW temps here in Oregon for this time of year this is a hard one........................:confused3

Me: Sweetened Ice Tea (NO LEMON) or a nice cold Corona Light with lime.

DH: 7-eleven slurpee or a Coors Light :drinking1

DD: 7-eleven slurpee or Lemonade

DS: He will drink anything........loves any kind of juice.

Today it is raining, so it is cool. :cool1:

Our favorite drinks

Me: Pepsi (not coke), Absopure water. ( I am a water snob.) alcohol:
Strawberry/Banana margarita

Dh: Iced tea no lemon. alcohol: Beer

DD: Slushes or iced tea
DD: slushes or Pepsi
Ds: Slushes or kool aid.

I have our calender marked for our call to get Palos. ( no fear...we do not want the high tea.) :)

Favorite beverages?

Jason: easy....Cold Water. He rarely drinks anything else. He'll sometimes drink a regular Coke with a meal and he likes Milk sometimes...but mostly just water.

Me: Diet Coke or chocolate milk

Thanks to everyone who posted about the Dolphin Enounter, we are now booked at 2:00 pm. :)

I dont know who is more excited, me or the kids. ;)

I got my envelope yesterday! Nothing new, but it was nice to get something in the mail.

Favorite drinks on a hot day:

Me: Sprite or water

James: Sweet Iced Tea (not iced tea with sugar, real brewed sweet tea)

Still no envelope for me:( We moved last April and when we booked we were living at our old house, maybe they have my old address, also we transferred our ressie to dreams unlimited, I dont think we are getting it

Favorite Drink

Me: Diet Coke, or Malibu rum and Diet coke YUM
Dh: Beer!
DD: Lemonade
DS: Icee, Slurpee etc.

Sorry gang for the long period away!

Change of plans for us-Scott and I are now in a Cat 9 GTY! One of the other people traveling might not be able to so if needed we can take the extra person in our room.

Got our airfare finally, now just to pay off the cruise. DCL will get there money at the last possible minute!

Hey Dan! I've been thinking about you for the past week wondering where you've been! I even almost stopped in this morning at your work to say hello as you said I could. I've come to the conclusion that you must be the one with a Disney destination named on your license plate. Not sure how I would come to that conclusion since you've been on something like 15 cruises! I bet you're hating that commute with the increased cost of gas!

Glad you finally got your flights arranged. Are you going to fly out of Cleveland or Columbus? Congrats on the Cat 9!!

OMG!!!! It is hot in here!!!!!! The air conditioner is broken at work!!! The building has these huge, two story windows and sun is quickly warming the place up! It doesn't help that it's 95 degrees outside!!!! I just hope that it cools down tonight after the storms go through!!!! Until then, we're roasting in here!

Hope everybody else is having a 'cool' day!

:)

That is sooooo not funny. I really hope you're getting out of there soon.

I'm freezing in the basement. The high here is supposed to be 92, but the basement here stays freezing.

I just have to share this tidbit. Kimberly pointed Erik and I out to someone from the October DoubleDip who is thinking of doing lanyards. That someone saw I was from NH and alerted someone on their thread that I live in the same state so she PMd me a nice little hello. It turns out we both live in the same littel town of about 3000 and her daughters dance at the same studio as Rio. Yes, it is a small world after all:cool1: (my apologies to those of you who hate that song and now have it stuck in your heads).

oops, you're right...June :)

Thanks to you both for the info -I didn't even catch the July vs June - I already have my calendar marked for June.:goodvibes

As for school supplies, I too will chose a DCL excursion most likely - my younger son has some medical issues and I just prefer that security of having DCL responsible for some things. But I would be happy to bring school supplies to bring if there is a group going with David and Ivan or through other means.
