Dan, I will stop in sometime soon...I promise!

....It turns out we both live in the same littel town of about 3000 and her daughters dance at the same studio as Rio. Yes, it is a small world after all:cool1: (my apologies to those of you who hate that song and now have it stuck in your heads).

Wow! That's an itsy bisty small world! :dance3: Very cool!

Thanks for the good thoughts.

"And of course, the Palo trifecta: dinner, tea and brunch" - YES! This is a must for DW and me... we love them all.

Chankanaab is going to be a hoot at 1:00 with so many of us there!!!

We might return to Maya Palms in Costa Maya - We really enjoyed our day there two years ago.

We'll do the Waverunner "Eco Tour" one of the days at CC.

Just reading that makes my heart race and my palms sweat! :rotfl2:

REAS: I am really leaning towards this... Can you only book 1 Palo? If so we want brunch.
Erika: What the non alcholic version?

The package includes Palo dinner. You are allowed to book bruch or tea as well, but you would pay the $15/$5 respectively for them. The non-alcoholic version includes another gift equal to the value of the bottle of wine, and you have the option for choosing sparkling cider for your breakfast in bed morning instead of champagne.

For those of you doing Chankanaab in Costa Maya.... who are you booking through, Disney, or Ivan and David, or????

As for us.. I have narrowed it down... to

Castaway Cay (day1)- Bike and boat rentals, the boys have snorkals mask and fins, just need to find some for E and I. (probably 1 set to share I dont mind swapping spit with him, just the though of swapping with some other joe shmoe.. grosses me out LOL) **with time for shopping of course! LOL**

CozumelCozumel Beach Break /Play Mia Grand Beach Park (anyone done this before?, is it better to do through Disney or on our own?) **again.. cant forget the shopping LOL**

Castaway Cay day 2- Im surprizing E with Cabana Massage at Castaway Cay. He has NEVER had a massage so I thought this would be tre romantica' LOL AND I get a massage too for all my hard work at planning this shindig! Kids are going to the club. We can have some time as Serenity bay.. Then we will pick them up for lunch and spend the rest of the day together... Or so I have it planned.. lol. When Im signing up for stuff online can I get sign up for the massages or do I have to wait till I get on board?

Thanks all for the info help etc!

I sense that you might be a fan of shopping.....:rotfl:

We are booking through Disney mainly because I am paranoid that something will happen and we will miss the boat. I'm sure nothing would, but I'd rather pay a little extra for the peace of mind. I think there is a mix here of people booking through Disney and people booking direct with David and Ivan.

I guess this will seem like a dumb question but...

We are CC members for the first time so we have the 90 day booking window. The cruise doesn't not technically have to be paid off until 75 days out. In order to get the 90 day booking window do I need to pay off the cruise before my 90 day window opens?

When I got my cruise booklet yesterday the letter noted I could make my excursion, Palo, etc. ressies on July 14th - the 75 day mark. I just wonder why it said that - unless it is because I need to pay off the cruise to get the 90 day mark.

Does that make sense? I know there are some former DCL cruisers on here!:goodvibes

When Lionel and I did our second cruise, we did not know to add our CC ID number to the reservation, so when we tried to book at 90 days out it said we were not eligible. A quick call to DCL remedied that and we were able to book. That may be the problem. Or, it may be that they sent you the wrong packet. Who knows? But if you have any problems pre-booking that day, call them and they will fix it lickety-split.

first, let me apologize for the non-caps. i was in an accident a few weeks ago and i broke my shoulder, so typing has become a real chore.
trav

Ack! Are you ok? Shoulders are really painful.....make sure your doctor refers you to a therapist when you are ready, because you don't want to get frozen shoulder. Sometimes docs don't refer if the break heals well, but I still reccomend therapy so you can keep your full range of motion intact.

Can you tell what I do for a living? :rolleyes1

I am not feeling very creative today so here is a simple question of the week in honour of our weather:

What is your favourite COLD thing to drink on a hot day???

Hmmmm. Am I on vacation in this scenario? :rotfl:

If not, I generally pick water. How boring am I? I just get dehydrated so easily.....but, if it is a lovely warm day on a boat floating through the Carribean, then I likely will have whatever the drink of the day is. Or a pina colada. Can't go wrong with a Disney pina colada!

Lionel will opt for water or iced tea, or an iced coffee from Starbucks ;)

Happy Tuesday, Hadley! And hey - don't feel uncreative, this was a fun one! We appreciate you guys all coming up with a weekly question, I love reading all of the answers. What a great idea this game was!

Thanks!!! What a great review! It just makes me that much more excited!!

zwiehund, thanks for the advice.

i actually dislocated my shoulder and broke the humerus in a couple of spots. the ball at the top of the bone broke completely off the shaft of the humerus. then, the ball itself (i know there has to be a medical term for the "ball") broke in half. a number of pieces also broke off the ball. anyhow, they tried something they thought is fairly new, instead of putting in some plates with screws, they took me to the operating room and did what they called stop action photography with an x-ray machine as they manipulated the bones back into place.

the advantage, obviously, was that they didn't have to cut me open, the disadvantage is that recovery is quite a bit longer. i was ok with all of that until a couple of days ago.

when i went in for my last visit with the orthopedic surgeon he was glad to see that the bones were healing fairly well, unfortunately he thinks that i have also torn the rotator cuff. up here in the land of free health care an mri can take several weeks, so we won't know for sure for a while. best case scenario is that the bone willl heal well enough to re-attach the muscle in late july or early august (assuming of course i have been able to get an mri). if i have surgery that late, we won't be joining y'all on this cruise.

right now i am pretty bummed.

i have spent the last few days praying the doc is wrong and the rotator is fine and we can go on our trip.

i am glad that the kids don't know about the cruise so if we can't go they won't be disappointed.

bet you're sorry you asked.

Hello all - We got our package today! YEAH!! Denise, you can come borrow mine if you want.......not much info there..........just seeing the package from Disney was good enough.

Now for the question of the week: What is your favourite COLD thing to drink on a hot day???

ME: Usually water.......I know.....boring- on vacation soon to be whatever the frozen drink of the day is!
DH: Beer - How did I know that my DH and Denise's DH would have the same answer?
DD:Slurpee - Denise's DS and my DD were separated at birth!
DS: Water just like Mommy

I ordered some cruise items last night from drugstore.com through Ebates so I could make some $$ back, of course. They had a coupon for $10 off $50 and free shipping if you spent $25 so I bought the Sea Safe Sunblock with the Jellyfish sting protection (just in case), all sorts of sunblock, clear zinc oxide for our faces and some sunblock spray for the scalp. I figured it may come in handy if our DD's get their hair braided........and besides, someone cruising with us may need it for their bald spot. It makes me happy to buy stuff for the cruise. Especially when I get a bargain......everything came to $37 total!

Wow - fancy new "surgery" technique, though! Hopefully your MRI will be ok and you will heal nicely. Rotator cuffs can be tough, but I've seen complete recoveries from tears so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck with everything!

We got our envelope yesterday and my ressie is with Dreams.

I'm with DU too. I have no envelope. :worried:

Crissi...I agree. It is exciting to purchase stuff for the cruise, even if it's sunblock!

I started another project for my Fish Extender gifts. I made a prototype last night. My friend thought I bought a customized item!! :rotfl2: I got 1/3 of them done tonight. I'm *SO* excited about these along with Project #1!! It's so hard to keep a secret!!!

Denise, I had also transferred my reservation to Dreams. I hope yours comes soon. As others have said, there really isn't much in there that you don't already know, especially since they left out the excursions. Although I was very excited to see decent pictures of the DCL exclusive stateroom gifts. :goodvibes It really does come down to just being excited that "you got mail" for your cruise! Fingers crossed that yours comes soon!

Trav....oh I hurt just thinking about all of that!! You poor thing. That was one mighty powereful accident. Sending pixiedust: to you in hopes you don't have further damage! Hang in there

Erica...don't forget you're "Z". It's coming! I'm sure of it!

I was just thinking that my favorite cold drink is actually the lemoncello thingee they give you at the end of dinner at Palo!!!

:goodvibes

Amen!

Jason and I always book everything through Disney, too. I figure we can afford the little bit extra it costs to have Disney do all the legwork...but it's worth it to me not to have to do the work myself or have the stress/worry of making the plans wrong, ending up with an excursion that somehow makes us late or whatever....I know if I'm on a DCL excursion I am not going to get left behind.....I have abandonment issues! :rotfl2:

Question of the week: Favorite cold drink on a hot day:
We are pretty boring, we all like water.. lol
Me: I mostly drink Water.. or sweet tea.. yum!!.

Mike: Water.. or beer. lol

Jaren: Water.. or soda if we go somewhere.

Braden: water.. doesn't like soda.. weird huh? My kids would rather have water then juice or soda, so that's good for me :-)

A few October Double Dippers have mentioned to me that they really want to keep up with us and our Trip Reports. Of course they're likely most interested in our post-trip reports so they know more about our Double Dip and Costa Maya experience as well as the Magic herself after dry-dock. :)

That got me to thinking that not only for their benefit (several of them have been going to Post #6 to check us out), but for each of us as well, we should have these indexed on the go-to post. I looked out on the Forum, and only see two (ancc22 and zeihund) for this vacation. If/when you start your report, let us know on the board or PM me so I can add your story to the index!

Who knows when I'll get mine started!

Wow 5+ pages full since I checked last.

Guess it is time to start thinking about paying off the cruise.

Actually not booking any excursions this time so I have more Bingo money.
Kids are 3/6 so they are plenty happy with sand and water. If all goes well we will have two great beach days at CC so I will skip beach at Cozumel. Although we can keep shells from there. Hrmmm

Actually negotiating is one of my favorite sports in the Markets at Cozumel.

Actually not booking any excursions this time so I have more Bingo money.

I love Bingo!!! A Few questions...how much is it, how many games do they do per session and do they have it every day?

I love Bingo!!! A Few questions...how much is it, how many games do they do per session and do they have it every day?

There use to be 3 packages of cards to play.. $10, $25 & $35.. They play a few games at a time and as far as I know Yes, it is once a day.. but, I am not a "regular" Bingo person so I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong..

Well, we changed plans, minorly...

My group wants to do the Beach Snorkel Adventure in Costa Maya.. They are a little whimpy :rotfl: They figured it would be easier on the kids, who have never cruised before, to be able to walk in and out of snorkeling by the beach instead of having them climb off the back of a boat..

They were also talking about Horseback riding.. and I said.. do you really want to travel all the way to Mexico to horseback ride? :confused3 You can do that anywhere.. Plus to wear long pants in the Hot sun :faint: does not sound too thrilling to me..

We were also discussing the Xcaret Eco Adventure and may change, because again they are whimpy with the kids, about the "cold" water float... So now we are probably going to do the Tulum Ruins & Beach Tour...
