Just a warning - I reserved 3 nts at the Disneyland Hotel on points and called this morning to add on a night as a cash reservation. When she went in to find the 3 nt reservation to link up the cash one, she couldn't find it. Called Member Services and they saw that I had reserved it, but then put me on hold for a LONG time (bad feeling here) and then came back and said they'd call me back (worse feeling).

They did call back and confirm everything was set. I asked what happened and they said that they sent the request over to the DL hotel side but that they never got a confirmation back from DL, so I would have shown up for my vacation and not had a room! Ugh! Good thing I was adding on that extra night or else it would have been a rough start to my vacation!

Since the DVC and Disneyland (not sure about the other Disney-owned hotels) don't talk to each others' reservation systems directly, you might want to check with the hotel directly to confirm your reservation :)

I know when I made my DL ressies last year they not only gave me my DVC confirmation number, but they gave me the DL confirmation number. Did they give you one of these when you made your original ressie???

Nope, I only got the DVC reservation #. From what the person told me, they have to wait a day to get the confirm # back from the DL hotel... didn't sound like they could do it in "real time". Anyway, I called this morning and got the confirm # directly from the hotel and had the 2 reservations linked together. I plan to call the hotel front desk shortly before we arrive to make sure the 2 reservations are linked so we don't have to change rooms.

:)

My policy, now matter what hotel I book at for ANY trip, is to ALWAYS get a printed confirmation of your hotel reservation. ALWAYS. And I bring it with me when I travel.
That way when you show up at the desk to check in, and sooner or later you'll do this and they WON'T have your reservation in the computer, that piece of paper that you can hand them with their letter head PROVING that you have a reserved room can come in VERY handy.

When my husband first made our ressies this year 11 months out for VWL we were given a reservation number - didn't receive a written confirmation. Only 2 weeks had passed before we just happen to be adding to our reservation and called back only to find out that we didn't have a reservation. Apparently + or - a key stoke on their system means everything in the world - so whoever keyed us in the first time missed the important part and we never were entered! Too easy a mistake. From now on - we confirm and reconfirm and confirm again.
