Weare booked already for a September 2008 stay at CR. Because I am reading about construction that will be ongoing still at that time I wanted to have a back up if things look to crazy at CR.

First off - - do others of you ever double book - any draw back other than floating your money to 2 resorts.

Second - - will have a 5 and 3 year old on the trip and wanted CR due to proximity to MK. Any other resorts you feel is great for this age group.....rather stay at moderate or deluxe.

Thanks in advance for your responses - - -

Just wanted to say that we thought CR was great for small children being able to walk to MK. I think that any of the monorail resorts and also WL are great with little ones.

I think the poly would be great for that age group - the volcano pool is awesome!

I have always been told that double bookings are not allowed -- i.e., you cannot have 2 different reservations for the same dates. The computer will catch the double booking & cancel both ressies. Maybe someone who has tried this will be able to give you more info on whether this is correct or not. :confused3

Well, I have heard that some AP holders in the past have booked more than one room and not at the same resort, but since they are only allowed to book one room per AP, they wouldn't be under the same name anymore.

What would concern me more is the five day cancellation period for getting a refund. I woudn't want to risk losing a night's deposit because I was waiting until check in to decide which reservation to keep. If you think the construction will bother you, I would change now. I've been there when the construction was much worse and still have a great time though, but different people have different tolerances for inconvenience.

AP holders can book 3 rooms, but they must be under different names. We're requesting 2 connecting rooms at PC in December (traveling with an infant and want to give mom a rest), and they required that I book one room in my name and one in another guest's name.

One possibility would be to book a WDW resort ressie, and another at S&D, as they are not owned by WDW. If S&D has a good rate, it could be the way to go!
