Doreen's New Way of Life (comments are welcome)

Hi Doreen!:wave2:
Amanda inspired me as well! I have set short term goals for the month of March. I think it is a great idea. Step-by-step, we will reach our bigger goals!
Your goals look very good. And I like how you have allowed yourself lee-way for the crazy days you are bound to have during the month. I also like that you have them set-up so that you can get some of them met right off the bat during your day. Great planning!
I hope your little pinky toe is feeling better. I broke mine last Nov, and I can't tell you what a *pain* (literally and figuratively) that was!! It also set me behind on my exercise, so I hope yours heals quickly!
Have a wonderful, warm :sunny: Monday Doe!!
TTFN-
Sharon

Sounds like a terrific plan Doe. Please let me know how this monthly plan goes. I may adopt it myself. Hope your day is super terrific.

Goal update
1. Meds & vitamins 1/1 100%
2. Water - 5 mugs water & 1 mug decaf green tea!! 1/1 100%
3. Food - B=protein bar (2g), L=6 oz burger (no bun) with lettuce, tomato, peppers, mayo, little mustard (8g?), S=trail mix (15g). Total so far today = 25g.
4. No exercise yet but I will this evening! :D

I feel very motivated with these new monthly goals!!

Sharon - your poor toe!! Hope it's all better now. A friend at work says they have special gel bandaids for blisters?? I'll be checking the store tonight! I actually MISS walking! :p

EDIT: 8:45 PM
Goals for today:
3. D = 1/2 PBJ on low-carb bread (20g), really small piece cake (15g). Total for today = 60g 1/1 100%
4. Exercise - 20 minute Pilates workout 1/1 100%

I have met all 4 of my goals today!! YAY!!

I believe I will be adding a cheat free bear to my siggie and heading off to bed with a smile! :teeth:

Way to go for meeting your goals for the day and rolling over your bear. I think I need to come up with some March goals as well. Let me know if you try out those gel blister bandaids. I have some new blisters from wearing pretty dress shoes to my interview and classes right afterwards. I think my feet would prefer no shoes at all or maybe just sneakers all the time lol. I hope tomorrow is just as much a success for you.

Excellent Doe - I think this goal idea may be just the ticket. I so glad you met all four of them. Hello Mr. Bear. Have a terrific day.

:sunny: Good morning, dear WISH-sis, good morning to you!:sunny: How are you doing today? Your posts yesterday were bright and optimistic and full of good ideas! It will give me a lot to think about as I head on out to work today.

Carry your:umbrella: and keep the clouds at bay and fill your days with :p .

 , girlfriend,
Erin

In spite of the grey skies outside, I'm feeling :sunny: ! I'm really liking the idea of monthly goals that are reasonable and do-able! I feel like I've set myself up for success. Of course I'm not in the d-zone yet and that will be the true test. :p

Stephanie: I never made it to the store for the new gel blister band-aids. I do have a regular band-aid on today and it seems to be helping. I know what you mean about preferring sneakers or going barefoot - I have yet to find a pair of really comfy dress shoes, although my Hush Puppie pumps come close.

Judy: I'm very happy to welcome my bear back into my siggie! So far this monthly goal thing is feeling very good!

Erin: I've got my ::MickeyMo umbrella to chase away any frowns! :p

Goals are the same - I haven't met any of them yet but I'm working on them. :D

Now, I'm off to get some real work done. I'll be back with updates throughout the day.

hey doe, great job yesterday! it's always nice to start out a brand new month with a wonderful cheat free day :)

i've used specific blister bandaids that had a gel type area, i'm pretty sure that's what you're talking about. i had a nasty blister on my big toe, but in between the toes. the gel bandaid did very well for normal everyday activity, and it didn't hurt at all. it didn't hold up to running though. but i'm sure it would help with your walking and everyday activities ::yes::

good luck reaching your goals again today, i know you can do it! hope you have a great day :sunny: (even though it's icky out! :p )

Good morning!
What a great idea to break down the goals monthly! Your enthusiasm is wonderful! Keep up the good work! Here's hoping that :sunny: will come your way today!

Hi Doe! I am so glad to see you're feeling :sunny: ! You have sugh a great attitude! Don't even think about the D-zone! Live it up today and who knows, it just may slip by without you even noticing. Keep up the good work!

Tracy

Marcia: I'll have to get some of those gel band-aids! You've said you have blisters on a bunch of your toes? HOW can you keep running, girlfriend??!! I'm having trouble WALKING with just one toe messed up!

Thanks, all, for stopping by and encouraging me! I am feeling very sunny and positive!

Goals so far today:
1. Meds & vitamins taken - 2/2 100%
2. Water - already had 5 mugs and am drinking more - 2/2 100%
3. Food - B = protein bar (2g). L = Subway wrap (15g), Trident (1g). Dinner? No idea! There are hot dogs at home if I get desparate. :p
4. Exercise - Walked a mile at lunch (to Subway & back). It's so warm out I didn't need my coat! I hope to get more walking in this evening, but my goal has been met! 2/2 100%

Looks like it will be another cheat free day for me!!

I've finally gotten to everyone's journals over the past 2 days. I decided to do them all in alphabetical order because I kept missing people!

Back to work!

Wow Doe what a great Monday:sunny: all your goals achieved - you are on a roll now. Looks like tuesday is shaping up pretty well. Congrats on the new bear and keep it up:wave2:

i noticed the alphabetical thing...it made me smile :). seeing names rise to the top a-z, hehe :p

and yeah, i've kept on plugging along even with the blisters. [notice, the following will be gross...so don't read if you don't want to be grossed out] i just pop em, squeeze out the liquid, cover em up with neosporin and a bandaid over night, and they're usually doing okay by the morning. i put on a new bandaid with neosporin in the morning, and by the time i get to the gym, i take the bandaids off and i'm off and running. i really notice them much more during the day, and usually not at all while running. they're all doing very well now though, i haven't had to pop and squeeze in at least a week, they're more like callouses (sp?). i just have to keep an eye on them because they'll blister again if i don't keep them under control. i guess it would be more of a problem if they were in another spot, but they're all on the tips of my toes, so i guess i just don't feel them
:scratchin

anyway, i hope your little toe gets better real soon and you can get some more walking in :)

Great job, Doe!

I thought I had read a lot of your journal, but I've obviously missed the part that explained the "D-zone". What is that?

The concert the other night was great. And I have seen Mark Lowry a few times, too. Actually, we went to the same college, Liberty Univeristy, together. I hardly knew him, but DH knew him pretty well. In fact, Mark did a concert (back when he used to sing a lot) up here and stayed at Dh's house. This was before I knew DH.

Anyway, looks like you are having a great day. Thanks for the encouragement.:sunny:

Hi Doe!

I just wanted to stop by and see how you are doing. It's so nice to see your sunny and bright posts! I think setting monthly goals is setting yourself up for success. It's similar to what I do. If I had to tackle my big goals without meeting smaller ones first, I know I couldn't succeed.

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face with your positive posts!

Hi Doe!!!! You are off to a wonderful start to your new month! Yeah for you!!!!:hyper: I think this goals for the day/month is just the ticket for you. Looks like today is gonna be another happy day for your bear!!
And thank you, yes, my toe is much better now!:smooth: I hope yours are on the way to recovery as well.
Keep up the great work. It wonderful to hear the :sunny: in your posts!

Day 2 of March and I've met all my goals again!!

I had a small piece of cake for dinner but it was in my carb allowance so I don't consider it a cheat - a poor choice, yes, but a cheat, no. I just wasn't very hungry but the whole town smells like brownies and the cake was calling me! It's all gone now, thanks to the rest of the family.

I'm rolling my sweet little bear and heading to bed.

Congrats on a Cheat Free day Doe!

I hope you get some good rest. Sweet dreams
Beth

You're getting the month of March off to a great start!!! Keep it up!
