Doreen's Fresh Start & Success Story! (Welcome Friends!)

I just realized that as long as I have been on WISH (although granted I was preg. through most of it, lol!) I have never visited your journal...so here I am! ;) You are doing such an amazing job! Good luck training for your half-marathon!

Good FRIDAY morning, Doreen! :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:
I FEEL the need for the WEEKEND!

So, what are your plans for the weekend? Oh, yeah, I remember. . .you're going to curl up in the AC with a good book. Sounds great to me!

I love the sound of your new office space; it seems like it's more "you" than the location you had before.

Love to you and yours  ,
Erin

:cool1: It's Friday!!! :cool1:

I finished the 4th HP book this morning. I'll start on book 5 when I get home and hope to finish it over the weekend. Then I can finally start on the new book 6!

Today:
1. Devotions - The Kingdom of God is within you - Luke 17:21 When you are filled with self-doubt, and in the grip of your inferiority complex, don't give up saying "I can't do it." God has placed in your personality all the ability you need. You have only to believe in yourself, and strength within you will be released. Try saying the text this way - "God's abundance, peace, and power are within me. I lack for nothing." (by Norman Vincent Peale)
2. Pills - taken.
3. Water - started.
4. Healthy eating - what a struggle latelyl!!! The grocery store awaits this weekend!
5. Exercise - I may walk a bit today, but tomorrow is when I start training for the half marathon. I have a calendar with all my walking days and mileage on it. Tomorrow is 2 miles - I can do that! The trick is to do it early in the morning, before I get caught up in other things.
6. Scale - nope, not yet. Ignorance isn't total bliss, but knowing the number would not help me right now.

I drove to work today and I'll drive all next week. My car pool partner is off on vacation. That means I can come and go as I please and I LIKE that feeling! :p Today I was in at 7 AM so I can leave at 3:30 PM and get my weekend started - WOO HOO!! :jumping1:

Good Friday morning Doe!

That's great that you get to leave at 3:30 p.m. today! That means you get home faster and you can start your reading marathon. :teeth:

You sound so peaceful and relaxed. :goodvibes It sounds like your new office location is going to be awesome! ::yes::

Have a wonderful day today, Doe! :sunny:

Oh I wish I could control my hours like that! I swear my company would chain us to our desk if it wasn't illegal. :)

Your plan sounds good for your 2 mile walk this weekend. I might lower mine to 2 instead of the 4 I plan on doing. I guess I will wait and see how I feel on Sunday morning. :)

Doe:

Having read a few JK Rowling interviews after finishing book 6 on Sunday, she says that all the clues for book 6 (and now 7) are in books 4 & 5. Happy reading!

Thanks for your words of encouragement in my journal. Hanging in there is pretty difficult sometimes. The stress level of the whole world seems to be raising my personal stress as well. My British cousins are really very calm and determined to live without being afraid. If they can do it, we can do it. We have to make the choice to live without being afraid too.

No plan yet today - just stopping by to congratulate myself! :teeth:

I just finished my first 2 mile training session! I did a combination of walking with just a little bit of running thrown in every half mile. The temptation to just stay in bed and read was strong but I knew if I didn't get up and do my training FIRST, I'd never do it. :cool1:

Now I'm off to do laundry, read, do menu planning and a grocery trip, a shopping trip with DS - the fun is endless today! :rotfl2:

I'll be back with updates later. :sunny:

Wanted to stop by and say hello and check in on you. Way to go on the training - you'll be up there in no time.

Hope you have a good weekend!!!! And stay cool.

Keep on
Chris

Where did my weekend go??? I'm back at work and it feels like I never left! :confused3

I spent lots of time reading HP book 5 (Order of the Phoenix). It's 870 pages and I have another 200 pages to go before I finish and can move on to book 6 (the new one).

I never did make it to the grocery store. For some reason, I just cannot get myself motivated to get there. I may have to make a list and send my teens tonight. ::yes::

Today I'll be getting things ready for the class I teach tomorrow and Wednesday. That will keep me occupied at work. Tonight? More reading! :teeth: Oh, and I CAN'T forget about my training plans! My second workout will be tonight - another 2 miles, mostly walking with a bit of running thrown in every half mile or so.

The scale is steady at 154.

Devotions for today - one of my all time favorite verses. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - II Timothy 1:7

Onward, looking Upward! :sunny:

Good morning, dear WISH-sis. I thought about you a lot during my walk today. If you'd ever like some company on a long training walk, let me know.

So you read the weekend away. . .boy, does that sound nice. With the heat that's predicted, reading in the AC will be a great afternoon/evening pasttime!

We're going to eat right today, OK? I'll do it if you will. . .

Love,
Erin

Now here's a thing that I thought I'd never say - I need to get my butt on that couch and read that 5th book too!!!! Glad you got a good amount read.

Good luck on your training tonight!!!

Keep on
Chris

I did my 2 miles last night, at 9:30 PM, in heat and humidity that were oppressive. Did I make excuses? NO! I got out there and got my miles in! I also made it to the grocery store.

I'm teaching today so I only have a minute:
1. Devotions - Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Psalm 73:24
2. Pills - just took them.
3. Water - have my Beach Club refillable mug and plan to drink 3 12oz mugs today. Since I'm teaching, I can't drink much more. I'll drink more at home tonight.
4. Healthy eating - B was pineapple yogurt w/ almonds, I'm not sure about the rest of the day.
5. Exercise - It's a rest day!
6. Scale - 154 and steady.

Good for you for getting out and working at your miles. It was really humid here yesterday but relief is in sight!!!

And good job keeping on track - you're doing good.

Keep on
Chris

Wow! You made some great progress on OOTP! I have to admit that one is not my favorite in the series. It is so depressing!

Great job on doing your walk! I'm floundering in that area :(

~Amanda

Here I am again. :p Yesterday went well except for my evening food choices.

Today I'm teaching again. Class is going very well so far.

The plan today includes a 2 mile training session. It will be very hot and humid this evening but I am determined to do those 2 miles no matter what! ::yes::

Back later with an update! :wave2:

 Good morning, WISH-sis. Here's a hug for your day! I'm inspired by your dedication to your exercise--I'm going to get my walk in today, too, no matter what! There's something very empowering about making a promise to yourself and KEEPING IT! :p

Know I'm thinking of you today as you walk the healthy living walk. Eat right! You deserve it, you princess: you!

Love and hugs,
Erin

Good morning, WISH-sis! How are you doing today? Looking forward to some cooler weather? Today is Thursday, don't forget. You know what that means: tomorrow we get to PARTY! :teeth:

Are you in class again today? It sounds like you're enjoying it.

Here's some :wizard: and  for your day. Be good to yourself, OK?

Love ya,
Erin

The days of July are just flying by!

My class went very well. The students all told me how much they learned and how much they appreciated the information - a good feeling! I finished up yesterday afternoon. I did my 2 miles last night at 9:30 PM, after we got home from DD's tennis lesson. DD went with me. Then I stayed up to start Harry Potter, book 6! :Pinkbounc Yes, I finally finished book 5 and got to start the new one.

Today is a new day!
1. Devotions - Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. - Ephesians 6:13 When we have done all that we can do about a given matter, we are not to get worried or in a panic or be filled with anxiety, but take a calm philosophical attitude concerning it. When you have done all that you can do, don't try to do any more, just "stand." Relax, stop, be quiet, don't fuss about it; you have done everything possible; leave the results to God. (Norman Vincent Peale)
2. Pills - taken.
3. Water - will be drinking lots.
4. Healthy eating - B was yogurt w/ walnuts. No more food until after I have blood work done this afternoon. Dinner will be baked chicken and <gasp!> mashed potatoes. I'm going to splurge a bit! I will however be keeping a close eye on my portion size. ::yes::
5. Exercise - I have another 2 miles on the calendar for today. I'll do it later this evening, but preferably before sunset. I really don't like running in the dark! ;)
6. Scale - 154 and steady.

I work until noon today and then head to the doctor's office. I'm having blood drawn for lab work, a mammogram (my first!) and a biopsy for a spot on my jawline that looks "suspicious." My results from my stress EKG showed that all is well with my heart so no worries there. This evening I'll be making a proper dinner (for a change), getting my 2 miles in, and reading HP book 6. Sounds like a pretty good day to me! :sunny:
