Doreen's Fresh Start & Success Story! (Welcome Friends!)

How are you doing on this bright, warm, :sunny: day? Did you have fun at VBS last night? If you have any pictures of you and your "twin," I'd love to see them!

How's the move to the new cube going? Will you be settled by Friday?

What kind of nice thing will you do for yourself today? Drink a lot of cool, refreshing water? Sit quietly and catch your breath? Listen to relaxing music? Don't forget to nurture yourself in some way. You know what I did for myself at the mall yesterday? Made a little purchase in Vicky's. :teeth:
Hey, we've got to treat ourselves like the princess: we are, don't we?

 and  to you, my WISH-sis.
Erin

Good morning Doe! :cool1:

You are doing a great job getting those training sessions in! You are gonna do great at the half!!!! ::yes::

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! :sunny: The weekend is almost here!!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for stopping by, lilygator, Erin, Amanda and Tracy. :grouphug: You all inspire me to keep at this healthy living stuff, even on the days when I don't feel like it. WISH friends are the best! ::yes::

Erin, thanks for the reminder to take some pictures! I keep forgetting to do this and I NEED pictures of the drama team cast. :p Last night's play went well. My twin and I had an argument but we forgave each other and the audience clapped. :) Tonight, the safari guide and I sink into quicksand and my twin has to rescue us. :p Have I mentioned that I love the stage????

I haven't started to change cubicles yet - I really should start to do this. ::yes:: Again, thanks for the reminder.

I've decided to do a really nice thing for me tomorrow - I'm taking the day off! It has been a long week and I'm due for some down time. Of course the day is already packed with hair appointments and my daughter's doctor appointment (it's sports physical time!), but I'm also going to make some time to take DD out for lunch.

Today:
1. Devotions - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. - Ephesians 3:20 I'm going to have to look up another translation of this verse - I find this phrasing hard to understand. Somehow Norman Vincent Peale interprets it to mean that God wants to give us the best of everything and is often hindered by our pessimism.
2. Pills - taken.
3. Water - yep.
4. Healthy eating - B was yogurt w/ almonds. The rest? Who knows. ;)
5. Exercise - today is a 2 mile kinda day! I'll probably have to do those miles after VBS tonight - hopefully DD will go along.
6. Scale - 153, no better but no worse.

Glad to hear the play went well! You have had such a busy schedule lately! :) I won't be walking tonight because I have work - unless DH wants to go with me at 9pm. But I will be going tomorrow! :)

Aw shoot! I just wrote the most clever and witty post to your journal :teeth: and it was eaten by something in cyberspace! Rats. Oh, well, the gist of it is simple:

1. In all things today, treat yourself like the princess: you're meant to be.
2. I hope the twin saved you and the safari guide. The alternative is unimagineable for VBS.
3. See #1. :p Seriously, if we don't let the world know we require special treatment, who will?

Have a great day off!

,
Erin

Erin, don't you just hate when your posts get eaten??? I know it drives me crazy!

Yes, my twin rescued me and the safari guide last night. Tonight is the last night of VBS so the skit wraps everything up and has the requisite happy ending for all. :teeth:

I have laundry in the washer and dryer. I'm still in my jammies but will be getting dressed soon to do all of the errands that are on the list today. I should be back home by early afternoon. I'm hoping to get a lovely nap in before VBS tonight.

I finished HP6 last evening. :( Now I'm off to read the spoiler thread on the Community Board! :rotfl2: It has taken all of my willpower to NOT open this thread until I finished the book! :flower: Next will be a book by Terry Goodkind that was recommended to me and my DS - definitely fantasy lit which DS loves.

It looks to be a beautiful day! :sunny:

I cried at the end of the book! That rarely happens for me, but I coudn't help it. It was so sad. :(

Are you walking tonight? I'll be doing 2 miles at about 7pm.

~Amanda

For those who are curious, I present the twins :flower:

Just got back from my 2 mile training session w/ DH. Also did 2 miles last night with DH. I haven't missed one yet! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

  WOO HOO! IT'S FRIDAY!!

There's a pic of my DS and I as the twins (3 posts back) and pics of my half marathon buddies (2 posts back) for those who'd like to see them. :)

We got all the errands done yesterday. Saw the doc and asked about my test results. We both figured that if he didn't remember them, then there wasn't anything abnormal or worrisome.

VBS is over. We had a great time and the kids really seemed to enjoy the drama while still "getting" the lessons portrayed.

I'm still on track with my training schedule. That makes 2 weeks straight that I've gotten my sessions in without fail. I think that's a new record for me! :teeth:

Today - back to work and the normal routine.
1. Devotions - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. - Matthew 7:7 When you pray, expect that God has answered. Often we are great at asking, but not very good at receiving.
2. Pills - will take them with breakfast.
3. Water - I've been lagging on this and my body is thirsty. I'll be making an extra effort today.
4. Healthy eating - B will be yogurt and walnuts, L ??, D will be corn on the cob and hot dogs.
5. Exercise - another rest day!
6. Scale - 153, yep it keeps staying the same.

Let the Friday party begin!! :rockband:

I feel tired just looking at that picture! :rotfl: Okay - I hear ya, I need to get training! Heheheeh.

You have been doing so awesome on your training! The good news is that next week my schedule looks nice and clean! So I have no excuses to avoid training! :)

~Amanda

Good morning Doe! :sunny:

Those pictures are great! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing them with us. :teeth:

Way to go on your training sessions!!!! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Let the TGIF party begin!!!!!

 :Pinkbounc :cool1: :dancer: :rockband: :drinking1 :thewave: :jumping2: :jumping3: :jumping1:

:cool1: Woo-hoo, two weeks of training! :cool1: You, dear WISH-sis, are going to be a force to be reckoned with out there on that half course! With all that you've had to do this week, staying on track was a MAJOR accomplishment, if you ask me! CELEBRATE! :cheer2:

AND it's FRIDAY! :rockband: :jumping3: Life is good, life is good.

Thanks for posting those pictures; you and your twin are so cute, and you and your half-marathon jock athlete princess: buddies, well, they're pretty awesome looking, too.

So, you're going to drink up today! :drinking1 With this heat, you're body will be thanking you!

 for your day, princess: Doe-Doe,
Erin

My major accomplishment yesterday - having a nice dinner with my family! We've all been going in different directions for so long and have not been able to sit down to dinner together in ages. Last night I felt good and had the energy to cook a simple meal that we could share together.

Today we're headed to Hersheypark for DH's company picnic. We'll go for lunch and a couple rides. Then we'll come home during the heat of the day and head back later this evening for some fun when it's cooler. It's nice living only 20 minutes away. :p

I'm not planning to accomplish anything else today, except some more reading. This new book is a good one! ::yes::

Tomorrow will be another relaxing day. DH and I are meeting Erin and her family for lunch. The rest of the day is open, though I'm sure I'll be planning meals, stopping by the grocery store and getting laundry finished for the week ahead. I have to get a 4 mile training session in. I also have to mark the master calendar with all the upcoming obligations for DS' marching band schedule, DD's tennis schedule and other assorted things coming up. The days are going to get much busier very soon so I'm soaking in the relaxation this weekend.

WISHing all my WISH friends a :sunny: day! :grouphug:

have funat hershey!!!! its awesomel iving 20 min away,,,the freedom to leave and come back when you want!

have a great time!!

Hersheypark was fun yesterday. I did tons of walking!

Today:
1. Devotions - not yet
2. Pills - not yet
3. Water - not yet
4. Healthy eating - not yet
5. Exercise - not yet
6. Scale - not yet

Do we see a pattern here??? I think it's time to get off my butt and get moving. :p I'm going to do my 4 miles, then get cleaned up. DH and I will have lunch with Erin and her family - I'll have to check the menu online and plan to have something healthy. When we get home I'll need to plan healthy food choices for this week and hit the grocery store. I'm tired of eating carby junk.

Time to move on into my day! :sunny:

Thanks for sharing those pictures!!!!!! Awesome - you are doing well and a little time off doesn't hurt anyone - hope you had a good lunch!!!!!

Keep on
Chris

:flower: Good morning! :flower:

It's Monday and we're back to the workday routine, which means it will be easier for me to stay on track. :p

The weekend was a good one, very relaxing. Lunch with Erin and her DH was very nice. They are truly two of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. We came home, ran to the grocery store for a few things and then watched Man of the House with Tommy Lee Jones guarding a group of cheerleaders who witnessed a crime - very funny. ::yes::

I walked/ran 2 miles instead of 4 yesterday, because I had done a ton of walking the day before (a rest day) at Hersheypark and my shins were hurting. Today is another 2 mile day.

Today:
1. Devotions - I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. - Philippians 4:11 A very good reminder for me.
2. Pills - will take them with breakfast
3. Water - at least 4 12 oz mugs during work, with another 12 oz this evening.
4. Healthy eating - B will be yogurt w/ walnuts, L will be a ham bacon cheese egg croissant, D will be whatever I pick up from the store.
5. Exercise - 2 miles later this evening.
6. Scale - 155 and steady.

:cool1: Easin' on down that healthy livin' road. :goodvibes
