My husband offered to go to DTD Friday, but I really can't afford $150 just to get something free, especially since I have no idea what it is.
I like the wallet, but don't need one that big anymore since I never carry checks on me.
Oh well, like I said, I'll chalk it up to saving money!

Yeah, with my luck it would be some kind of really ugly keychain or something! :laughing:

Several pages back I posted about a minor problem with my one week old Black Tassel Bag. The first day I got back from WDW, I noticed a fleck on the purse so I brushed it off. Well, it wasn't a fleck, but a piece of the black leather near the straps of the purse. It brushed off and now I have a teeny white spot. A couple posters suggested because of the price I paid for the purse that I should call and have it exchanged. Well, just got off the phone with Disney Merchandising. She asked me several times what happened and how that shouldn't have happened and really made me feel like she didn't believe me. Kept asking if I cut it with something:confused3. Well, eventually she gave me the address to send it back and then came the kicker - the purse is on backorder and they don't know when they'll get more in. Could be a week, might be a month. I also asked if I would be reimbursed for the shipping and she said Disney doesn't do that. So now I don't know what to do. Sounds stupid, but I really don't want to be without it for who knows how long. Wondering if you think I should just live with this minor imperfection or send it back and hope it doesn't take too long to get a new one?
 
I think I'd send it back anyway. You're not talking about just a $20 purse. And honestly, I don't think it would take terribly long to get another one back, just make sure you insure the one you send back and get a tracking number.

I'd send it back. I'm not positive obviously but I'm guessing that the time frame is a standard company line. They have them in all the stores so it isn't like they are low on stock at the actual stores.

Good luck. You definitely don't want a $200 purse with a bad spot.

Disney DOES do that -- they refunded my shipping back to them on a bag they shipped me. I am sure it depends on the situation but your defect on your purse I would think certainly should qualify!!

For the woman asking about returning a purse, I did just that. Something on the buckle that goes into the loop on the medium tote had a little sharp edge that was scratching the leather when I closed it. There was also some stitching coming out. I called Disney and they emailed me a UPS label. I returned it with a note asking for an exchange with good placement of Mickey and the castle. I asked that if they couldn't honor that request, then to return the defective one to me. I just called today and they said that it was packed on 2/22 and on the way. She said that they actually sent me a new one but I'm skeptical until I see it! I didn't have my receipt to enclose so it was my word that it was within 90 days. I'll let you know what I get back. She said to give it 5 days and it's been two.

I wonder why they would send you a UPS label and tell me they won't reimburse my shipping? I'm telling you, the CM I talked to thinks I'm responsible for the damage.

I have a dumb question. We are going down to the world in 10 days. Are the white bags with the characters still available as well as the new styles or only the new colors and styles?

I had a similar experience last year - except it was with a $40 watch, not a $200 Dooney handbag. Within a week, the digital watch that we purchased for my son stopped working. At first I thought that the battery had died, but it wasn't 'totally dead', just the timekeeping. Plus - we had actually purchased 2 (one for each twin), and the other one worked just fine. Even if it was just a dead battery - why would I buy a brand new watch just to pay another $10 for a battery?
Let me say, the return process was not very smooth! Just as you were told, I had to pay for the return shipping. Plus, it took well over 3 weeks to get the replacement watch - and they weren't even on backorder!

If you have the return authorization, I'd probably do it. But be prepared to WAIT and WAIT and WAIT!:sad2:
 
Just got back from Disney and there are plently of white bags available. World of Disney in Downtown Disney had lots of them as did Summer Lace in the Grand Floridian. The Yacht Club gift shop had them too. Make sure you know what edition you want as some of the sales clerks don't know the difference. I personally think that edition 2 is nicer as it has Minnie on it but you can decide for yourself. Also if you have an AP or a Disney credit card ask for the discounts:) Have fun!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:
