Long-time reader here . . . but it has been quite some time since I have posted.
Thanks for keeping me updated!

Two items with which I could use your help: has anyone heard anything about the sketch weekender coming back online to the Disney store (I should have bought it way back when but just couldn't make up my mind--ugh!) and the non-dooney wallet that appeared here -- is it offered at both parks (I 'd like to get a couple for gifts).

My mom was at Disneyland on Saturday and called me this morning to tell that a new Dooney print was released and she saw one in Clothiers-China Closet. I told her I knew about the Retro pattern coming out next month and she said this one was large, brown leather and embossed with pictures that looked like the sketch pattern, with darker brown straps running down the sides, and a perfectly square D&B logo near the top...so I sent her this picture:

and she confirms that is the bag she saw for sale.

She said there was only one and a guest was going nuts over it so she wasn't able to get a picture. She said the CM told the guest it had just come in that day.

I'm so confused to why an Aulani purse was for sale at Disneyland, a return maybe?

I would think that their coated cotton bags would be fine but am worried about leather and nylon and dye running. Any experiences? What about cork? I'm also concerned about her electronics inside the bag being protected.

I know it isnt good looking but I usually put a plastic bag, like a walmart bag or something in my purse and if it rains I just whip out my plastic bag and problem solved!! It never seems to rain very long when ever I am down there so I dont have to worry about anything serious.

We either have a backpack I can put mine in or I carry a big ziplock bag and put it in that.

I am a longgg time lurker but must admit its been awhile since I have checked out this thread!

I only have one Disney Dooney and Im not sure it even counts! It's a wristlet, pink sketch, and I loveee it.
I am desperate for a buddy for it A proper handbag.
However shipping is far too expensive (I'm in Scotland) and will have to wait until October.

Anywayyy where I'm going with this is, will the sketch crossover body bags still be there? Or any sketch design?! I am worried there will be none when I am back in the good ol' US of A

Hi Sarah.. the sketch pattern is still available at the parks. Also, in May there will be a new pattern released of the disney dooneys. So during your October trip you will have plenty to choose from.

CatsMom goes frequently to disneyland (she lives in the area) and I am sure if they were selling there she would have posted by now. I am guessing it was a return item and the lady that bought it was very lucky.

I remember you

I haven't heard any rumors about the white sketch collection being discontinued, so I bet the weekender will show up online again.

The nice thing about waiting is they changed the finish on that collection and while I don't know for sure, I have a feeling it might have been to address yellowing issues. I haven't looked closely at the weekender in stores, but I assume they're being made in the new finish now.

I know that wallet is available at DLR and people have posted about finding at WDW too, so I think you're good on either coast for now. Are you planning a trip soon?

I've heard they're closing out the DL55 and colored sketch collections, although I always caution that I've been given incorrect info before.

But as Liza said, there will be new collections available soon and the white sketch bags will probably be around too.

Will you be going to WDW or DLR in October?

Several people have posted that they've been able to buy cruise line Dooney's at DLR too. Whether they're returns (technically against policy, but they do make exceptions) or whether they randomly show up in a shipment, I don't know.

They don't routinely have special bags like that in stock though, at least not that I've ever seen.

Disclaimer: I haven't had an AP until fairly recently, so most of my Dooney shopping has been done at Downtown Disney and I know every time someone has posted about finding a cruise bag it has been in the parks. I imagine we would have heard more about it here if it happened often though.

Me too. I'm kinda meh about the newly released retro print (too cowboy looking, though the individual icons in the print are cute). I'm not in love with the new DCL print either (the giant turbo-size "new Mickey" on that print is too much, I really prefer the cute "old school Mickey" on the original Cruise Sketch pattern). Maybe this "buttons" thing will be more my style!

Also, while I'm rambling on... I too am hoping for Epcot prints someday. That would be cool. For example, say... a classy pattern of old-school Epcot with Dreamfinder, Figment, old logos... etc. But I digress!
