Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

Hey, all. I've been a longtime lurker of this thread and decided my Dooney collection has gotten large enough that I am officially obsessed. So here I am!
I had my eye on the 40th messenger bag for a long time, but the new retro iPad case has totally usurped the messenger bag! If only I could get out to Disneyland ...
Anyway, here is a picture of my Dooney family.

Thanks! I was excited to get Mickey, Dumbo and Tinkerbell all on the front without their faces cut off!
I had been hoping to get the leather Aulani bag, but when I was there all they had was the letter carrier and the wristlet. So I settled on the letter carrier with the best Chip and Dale placement and that's what I got. The Dream coin purse was the first designer bag I ever picked out- I was so thrilled because the Chip and Dale placement is perfect.

I think I will try to phone order the iPad case in May. Has anyone had experience with this? I don't care about the placement very much, but I would be so happy to have the pirate ship SOMEWHERE on it. If I was to tell the phone order cast member this would they just laugh at me?

Sorry, haven't been on the Dis for awhile.

Disney Clothiers on Main Street wouldn't say exactly how many bags they got, just that it was "very few" and they all sold in less than a week. Vault 28 in DD only got 4 bags and they all sold in just a couple of days.

I imagine more bags will show up in future shipments. I would never hazard a guess as to when though. Stock on many of the Disney Dooney designs has been spotty at DLR.

I think your mom probably saw the bag the very first day they put it out.

Has anyone seen any of the new Fantasy Cruise Dooney's? The official photo is not very good. The background colors really detract from the purses. I have seen some photos people have put online where the design looks really nice and others not so good. Going on a Fantasy cruise next winter and wondering if I should be saving my pennies or no

I'm with you. I wasn't even tempted when I saw the announcement photos. But they look much nicer in some of the pictures people have posted of the actual bags. I haven't seen them in person yet though.

That has happened to me with other Dooney's too. I think I won't like them, then when I see them in person, I end up walking out of the store with one.

I say you better save up just in case.

What happened to the wristlets? I went online to buy my wife one and all but one are gone.

Stock has always been somewhat spotty with many of the Disney Dooney bags, both online and in the parks. What appears to be sold out one day could very well show up again the next day.

But with the announcement of new bags coming within the next month or so, I think they're also probably closing out some of the older lines.

I've been told there won't be any more shipments of the DL55 bags, and I wouldn't expect the WDW40 bags to be far behind. I've also been told that they're closing out the colored sketch collection. Personally if I was interested in bags from any of those collections, I'd get them now.

No info on any of the other collections though.

Awww! Thanks, you guys! I just felt so bad because she really liked the bag I came home with and her hubby was like "NO!!!!" when she wanted to buy one in the parks. As much as my hubby & I share a joint account, I'm allowed to spend a little "extra" every now and again (and especially because I get great deals on them!).

You guys said the nicest things, though. Thanks. And when I get home tonight, I'll take pics of the bags I have and the one I want (it's the one I got my best friend! lol).

Does anyone have pictures of the Balloon Mickey Mouse Satchel and/or Disney Sketch Lucy Bag worn? Or possibly a picture of them side by side? I am trying to pick out my very first Dooney to put on my b-day list this year , and I'm having a hard time visualizing how big they would be in relation to an actual person. I think I want an everyday bag, and I carry a large wallet and smart phone at all times, so the smaller crossbody bags seem out of the question. I would really appreciate any pics (or opinions) you could offer me!

I've heard they're closing out the DL55 and colored sketch collections, although I always caution that I've been given incorrect info before.

But as Liza said, there will be new collections available soon and the white sketch bags will probably be around too.

Will you be going to WDW or DLR in October?

I like the coloured crossover sketch bags too. My sketch wristlet is pink and I wanted to get it a buddy.

They remodeled the Disney Store in my area. Today was the grand reopening. They gave free earhats to the first 500 people. Well I got there less than 10 minutes after they opened and the parking lot was like Christmastime, all the earhats were gone and the line to go in the store was literally outside on the sidewalk. There were meet and greets with Mickey and Minnie from noon to 4:00 and that line was also out on the street when I arrived. I thought if I walked around for awhile the line to get in the store would be shorter but three hours later it was still out on the sidewalk! So I never did get to see how the store looks. You would think with that many people there I would have spotted at least one Disney Dooney but i didn't.

In orlando now. Stopped by the outlets this afternoon to check them out. Saw a princess dooney at the dooney outlet but thats it. Then while leaving i caught a glimpse of the fantasy cruise dooney. The woman with it was too far accross the lot to stop so i only saw it from a distance. Not sure it appeals to me. Heading to wdw tomorrow for the week if anyone has any questions about whats there.

They did a similar thing to the Times Square location but it's nowhere near as good as the old 5th avenue World Of Disney store.

I agree with you there! The old store was great but I didn't get to it much. But my DBF lives in NYC so I went to the new Times Square store in August, December, and February and with the exception of some Christmas items in Dec., it seemed like they had the same stuff each time.
