Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

World of Disney had the best selection when we were at Disney World a couple months ago but all the bags are on shelves behind the counter. Some cm's are more patient than others about taking them down to show you placement. The jewelry store in the MK is great because you can handle all the purses yourself. That's also true in the shop they're sold at in HS too but the selection isn't as good. But being so picky about placement, I like shopping at the stores where you can really study the bags!

I am guessing it was Rewards dollars and the SPEED code. She was probably saving them to use at WDW in 9 days, but decided to take advantage of the discount now.

You need to use your Disney Rewards Card for atleast part of the purchase price. The check out code is SPEED.

DRVCMEMBER (10% off) and DOONEY ($15 cosmetic bag) are still working and there is a free ship code as well, but that doesn't cancel out the $5 shipping they charge for the $15 cosmetic bag.

I found I had a $4.95 shipping charge on my order with "free shipping" so I called the Disney Store website (800-328-0612) when my order arrived (got the white Margot - LOVE IT!!! - & the cosmetic bag, but they only charged me the shipping on the cosmetic bag). Once I had the shipping slip in my hand, I had all the order info the girl needed (plus, it was in her computer system) so she was able to credit my card the $4.95. She wasn't sure why the system was charging for the shipping on the cosmetic bag, but I guess this happens quite frequently since she was not surprised by this. I also noticed on the website, it said the cosmetic bag was $15.01 but I was only charged $15.
She also offerd me the option of getting a $4.95 gift card but I usually cash in my Disney points when I go in November so I didn't want to have 2 cards I had to keep track of.

I saw the 40th anniversary Disney bag (messenger style one) at WOD and I really want it but I can't see spending $265 for it . I'm debating if when we go for our honeymoon if I'll get it as my wedding present to myself.

I have a wristlets and the smaller purse (not in that design) but I got those with discounts.

I too have noticed that on ebay there are very few 40th anniversary disney dooneys. Hopefully at the disneyworld there are still plenty when we go in October.

I feel your pain - I'm going in November so I'm HOPING/PRAYING/CROSSING MY FINGERS I'll be able to find my "perfect placement" 40th bucket bag & wallet. Hope we both get some pixie dust our way Catira!

Waiting for 20% off & free shipping but have a feeling my resistance is getting weaker due to all my fellow enablers - I mean friends - on this board! If I do ....... I'll drop you a PM so you can have first crack at my "leftovers" before I sent the rest back.
Just ordered the Margot as an early birthday present (my birthday is in August) since I was afraid they'd sell out again & I wouldn't be able to order it (still hoping they put the black, mulit-colored Mickey wristlet back on sale - kicking myself for not grabbing that!).

I just got back home today from a week stay at the world and I brought home with me a 40th anniversary Kristen bag!!!! I did have to go all around to find the perfect one, but finally a manager at the watch store at MK started helping me and went to the back and got every one he had to pick from. They were all so nice and patient there. I love my placement and definitely recommend not settling. Mousegear was sold out and so was World of Disney at the beginning of the week, but I did see some before we left. Thank you everyone for all your great advice!

Could not believe my eyes but I saw at both outlets in Orlando...... The Dooney and Bourke store was selling the D&B Disney bags for 40% off. I already own the original white version (wristlet) and I did not want another.

The Orlando Premium Outlets (Vineland Rd & International Dr) I saw the black one with the colorful Mickey and the tan/taupe one. I saw them at both location on 5/6/11. Happy shopping.

The Dooney stores don't ship the Disney bags, so you have to go there to get one. If anyone runs across a black Wonder wristlet there, please PM me

The one above told me they have the white Princess bucket bag, the black princess sachel, the Wonder tote and tassel bag, and the tonal medium champsac and wristlet.

Interesting... the salesclerk at the D&B outlet near me said they rarely if ever get anything from co-branded lines in because the other company holds exclusive marketing rights.

When they cleared out the blue Mickey and pink Minnie bags, didn't they show up at the Disney outlets, not the D&B outlets?

Obviously Disney gave permission for the D&B outlets to carry the bags, but it kind of makes me wonder why. Do you think this adds validation to the rumor that the collaboration is ending, or am I reading too much into it?


FWIW, on our last DCL cruise they ran a 30% off special on the wonder pattern, although they called it the neon pattern (black background, multi color Mickey sihouettes). They completely sold out of wristlets but still had all the larger handbags available. That was actually almost as good as 40% for me since it's duty free onboard and I have to pay crazy high sales tax.
