Dooney & bourke Disney collaboration part 2

I know folks have reported that the 10% discount for using a Disney Visa is valid on Dooney purchases.

But as with many things Disney, the problem seems to be consistency across the board. I know I've read differing reports in this thread. One person reported being able to stack discounts, while someone else said they were eligible for multiple discounts, but had to choose just one. Same thing seems to happen as far as location. One person reported being able to get a discount at the same place someone else reported being denied.

Some of the above discrepancy might be the dates people are reporting about, and that's not always clear. But I don't really think CM's are always consistent either.

If your DW finds the perfect bag and the CM says no discount, I think I'd ask for a 2nd opionon, and escalate to a manager if necessary.

BTW, I know there are also AP discounts at Disneyland, I assume the same is true at WDW. Not sure if that applies to you or not though.

We're not an AP holder, but we are DVC members. Don't think there are any shopping discounts for DVC though.

I apologize as I'm sure this has been asked and answered on this long thread a few times.

We are leaving this weekend for a trip to WDW and DCL. My DW really wants a D&B bag and wallet.

Can you get a 10% discount on the bags using Disney Visa? Does it have to be at DTD or can it be elsewhere onsite. I was reading through the Disney Visa discount page and the disclaimer didn't specifically exclude these bags and it appeared that you could get the discount throughout WDW.

Hi all. I have the black Dooney with the brightly colored Mickeys and the tassels. I'm afraid I don't know the "name" of the purse I have. Anyway, I bought it in December while visiting WDW. I saw it the first night of my trip and just loved it, but thought no way would I EVER spend 200 bucks on a purse! Well, everywhere that I saw that bag I had to stop and look at it...touch it. My teenage son said...mom, just get it. You know you'll regret it if you get home and didn't get it. Well, what can I say?? The boy knows what he's talking about, so I bought it! And I love, love, love it. I get so many comments and complements on it. BUT, shortly after I got it, the stitching on one of the tassles came loose and fell off. A co worker, and owner of many Dooney bags was saying one day how a bad she's had for about 10 years, ripped. She said she contacted Dooney and that they were going to send her a new bag. I don't remember if she had to pay...I would assume she had to pay something since the other bag was so old. Anyway...I just want to know if anyone here has had any trouble with their Dooney bags and have contacted Dooney for repair. I emailed them and they just got back to me that I can send in the bag and they will evaluate it. If it is deemed defective, they will fix it and reimburse me for shipping. And that they will contact me with my "options" for repairing the bag. Anyone have any experience dealing with Dooney on repair or replacement?? Disney Dooney or any Dooney??

Unfortunately for me, I wasn't happy with the placement (my first had a perfect center mickey and the replacement had mickey's head cut off) so I sold it on Ebay and just bought myself a new bag (the ginormous one this time) this past week in DL.

That is great! I think I will send it in to Dooney and see what happens...hopefully will have good luck. I don't think they'll send me a new one...probably just repair it...but uf they did replace it, I wouldn't have any issues with placement being that it's the pattern with Mickeys scattered throughout. I will miss my bag while it's away! When I bought it I thought I would just use it every now and then, but I can't bring myself to use anything else. Well, except for a cute little cheap purse I picked up in Italy this summer...but I had to go back to my Mickey bag after just a couple weeks. I am addicted to these...I want another! In fact I did order a small one on Disney.com, but received an email that it'll take 3-4 weeks to ship! I just hope it does ship and they won't tell me they are all gone!!

Along those lines: I have a quick Disneyland stock update (well, DD anyway)

The only Disney Dooney bag I didn't see in stock at Vault 28 was the purple letter carrier. I'm pretty sure they had at least 1 bag of every other style.

The CM I talked to said he's not seeing a lot of excitement over the Princess collection, and for the most part it has just been sitting. He thinks the DL 55 collection is probably their best seller, with the letter carrier being the most popular style. He also thinks the colored sketch bags take a close second, with purple being the quickest sell out. Of course that could be because the other collections have been out longer, so people have had more time to get the pieces they want.

No insider info on when or if to expect more purple letter carriers though. In fact he wasn't even aware that purple had been pulled from the website. Curious.

As far as WoD goes, I'm pretty sure they had all the styles from the following collections: DL 55, original sketch, tonal, blue Mickey faces, and pink Minnie faces. As far as I know they've never had any colored sketch bags in.

I don't know if all that helps anyone or not, especially since stock changes so rapidly, but there it is anyway. Whew!

Ive read ppl using wristlet as a wallet or to carry their phones or cameras in, me I want one to use as a clutch to carry on our dinners in WDW. I am not a fan of purple either but when I saw the pics I was instantly drawn to it for some reason.

I think you will be fine finding both of those bags in February...

I am not a fan of purple either but when I saw the pics I was instantly drawn to it for some reason.

After seeing the bags in person blue was definitely my favorite, but purple was a close second. When I was trying to pick out my letter carrier, I found a purple with placement I liked better than any of the blue ones they had. A CM saw me agonizing over which to get, so he said "let's do a little experiment." He turned his back to me while holding both bags close to his chest, then turned around and back again quickly. Then he said "don't think about it, just tell me which bag your eye went to." Without a doubt it was purple, so that's the one I have, even though when I walked into the store I had every intention of buying blue.

As for how much fits in a wristlet, not much really. But I'm huge fan of Coach wristlets, and I have a dozen or so of those, and I think the Disney Dooney sketch wristlets actually work better for me than my flat Coach wristlets. At least when you put in a lipstick, or chapstick, or anything that's not flat, they don't pooch out all funny. They're definitely just for times when you only need the bare necessities with you though, that or use them along with a larger handbag.

nope, we havent heard anything ..however, i would assume there will be something soon as the 1 year anniversary of WDW carrying dooneys is oct. 1

Yay! I bought it at Disney.com shopping...they had emailed me after I ordered it and said 4 weeks before it would ship! Just got an email today that it has shipped...and it's only been 10 days!! I can't wait ti see it...it's just a smaller bag, but I think it's cute!!
