Has no scent when it's burning?

I bought it from a co-worker whose son was having a school fund raiser. I'm a sucker for those kinds of things, especially when it's candles!

Anyway, it's a no name brand, but it looked so cute in the brochure, like sliced strawberries about 3/4 of the jar, then the top looks like sliced bananas. When you open it, it smells like fruit punch.

But when you burn it, it smells like nothing!

Oh well, at least it looks pretty when it's burning.

I know what you mean...I just bought one from our kid's school. The description said it was "Tropical Breeze, a lovely coconut smell with just a hint of pineapple, to carry you off to an island paradise" or something like that. NOT! I don't think it really smells like anything, particularly not an island paradise!

Blondie, I bought one for a fundraiser from my niece and it is called "Fresh Brewed Coffee". I am here to tell you--this things smells strng--burning or not! Only problem is it smells like Mocha. Every person that came into my shop the other day was like "I smell chocolate!"

As we type I have a Chardonnay from Yankee Candle burning and it smells fabulous!!!

Went to pick up my DD from work tonight and arrived a little early. She works in a candy store which is next door to a Yankee Candle shop!!(which can be dangerous!) I went inside to buy some candle car fresheners and I saw the clearance table. They had candles there at 40%off. I bought a pretty blue candle called: "Blue Delphinium" and it's burning now. Smells like a spring garden in my family room.

But I know what you mean..I bought a huge 3 wick candle from a fundraiser last year...don't smell at all!!! Oh well, the kids made money...hope they sell something better next year!

That happened to me, I bought a "Sun Washed Linen" YC tart because in the store, it smelled really nice.

When I burned it, it was too strong! I won't be burning that again!

Oh wow, I just got a large "sun washed linen" and I love it--it makes my kitchen smell like a Bounce dryer sheet!

I don't think that candles smell at all when they are burning.... not until you blow them out and then I get a hint of fragrance. The only time I can smell the candles (including YC) is when I stick my nose right up to an unlit candle.................P

LOL... ITA with that. I don't know how many unscented candles I've thrown away because I've opened them up at home and they set my allergies off.

As an f.y.i., if you're ever approached to buy Home Interiors brand candles for a fundraiser, go for it.

These candles are super! The Mulled Cider fragrance is wonderful and so is the Pear Tart.

Have you ever tried PartyLite candles?? You will most definately smell these as you burn them!! I'm surprised you don't smell YC's as they burn. But do try PartyLite!!!!

I absolutely love YC. Have a number of favorite scents. Go to the main store in South Deerfield MA at least twice a year. Just bought some from a Partylite fundraiser, so I am glad to hear they are good too. I've heard great things about them, so I guess I'll try one of mine tonight!!

I can't burn any candles anymore because my husband thinks they all smell like cleaner or something to that effect. Just last week, I broke down and bought a small votive size Lilac candle. I thought it smelled great. He came home, opened the door and said: "Why does it smell like Raid in here? Do we have ants?"
So much for Lilac.
