......unless you really want the best. pirate: I have nothing but good words to say about Sunray. I came (from Michigan) in on Air Tran with my granddaughter and my sister (from KY) came in on Delta ...Her plane was a bit later than scheduled. Roger was waiting for my granddaughter and me and took us over to our baggage return. He then helped us with our luggage and then we all went over to get my sister at her luggage return. Even though we were running late..he still stopped (no extra charge) at the grocery store so we could run in to buy some groceries...After that..we were on our way to Pop Century...He was on time to pick us back up for our return to the airport.
Sunray is a small company....(which makes it even nicer...we aren't "lost" in the shuffle)....and it is not the first time I have used it nor will it be the last...Both Roger and Bob are friendly, professional, honest, and courteous. I always get a quick reply whenever I email them with my reservations. :thumbsup2 We will be using them in December and then again in February... :bounce:

OK, you scared the crap out of me! I'm using Sunray on Sunday, Wednesday and then the following Wednesday.

I have read nothing but excellent reviews - and then I saw your title! Thanks for another great review. I can't wait to meet either Bob or Roger in three days!

Disneymama1,

I would like to know if they ASK you post on this board? Considering how many different towncar companies folks use the volume of "unsolicited" posts for this one just makes me curious......

I had the same thought. There are many towncar companies which give good service. It's interesting that Sunray customers happen to be the ones who post.

We used SunRay for the first time last month and they never said a word about the DIS. They were right on time and very reliable. Bob and Roger seem like outstanding people.

We also had an excellent experience with Sunray in May 2006. I mentioned that I had seen complimentary posts about them on this board. He was most appreciative but never asked us to post (good or bad). They are a small company - they started up just before ME was announced & are trying to distinguish themselves through their customer service. Yes, we have used 2 other limo services & they were fine. My husband owns a small family business so I understand it can be difficult to make "a go of it" when you're competing against the big guys. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

No..they didn't ask me to post anything. I, too, understand the challenges of having a small business as we also have a small family business in Michigan..(a state that is having a rough time right now). Whenever we can, we give the small businesses a chance. I had used other services before and wasn't as happy with them as I have been with Sunray. A few years ago we had used another limo service..and we had asked for the grocery stop. Our plane was late..so the driver said we couldn't stop. I could have understood had he had another person (persons) to pick up...but, he didn't. He even told us he didn't. He kept staying we would be cutting into his time...We had a group of us in our family and had counted on going to the grocery store for supplies..I told him I would add more to the tip I had planned to give him (for his inconvience)...Finally, he stopped. I just never had that "personal touch" with the other ones as I have with Sunray so far.
As a small business owner..I do look for those things...and I have seen it in Sunray...I just wanted my Disney buddies to know....

I was curious to know whether there are other drivers working for Sunray, I've only heard Roger and Bob mentioned. Do they sub contract out other drivers to pick up a customer when there is an overlap in scheduling, or do they just let you know they're unable to transfer your party?

Same here. They've never asked me to post anything, ever. I do it because I am extremely pleased with their service.

When I go to WDW and come across an extraordinary Cast Member, someone that goes out of their way to help me, or excels in their position, I write a "job well done" letter to the Exec Office. Just something I think they deserve.

Now, I can't really do that for Sunray, so I post about my experiences here. They're a small business and I do what I can to support them. I prefer to post my positive experiences. There's already enough negativity out there.

There are several other drivers in that group. I was talking to Bob last week and he stated they have three other SUV's that get rides from him. Bob is the leader of the group. Bob also watches the disboards.

They sub out the rides that overlap.

Your post title scared me, glad I opened it and read!

We are using Sunray for the first time in December based on the incredible amount of positive reviews I have read, both here on the DIS and over at TGM. People rave about them and I really don't think I have ever read a negative post. My personal experience so far in emailing Bob was nothing but prompt, super helpful and professional. We are looking forward to using them in December and not once did they ask anything about if I read or posted on any message boards.

Wow, your post scared me too! :)

We are using Sunray for the first time in December. The reason? We have a rather complicated reservation request (4 legged trip that does not start at MCO), and I emailed several companies for a quote with a specific mention that for 2 legs of the trip, we would be a party of 4 adults and would not be able to fit into one towncar with all our luggage.

Sunray was the only one who responded promptly and answered all of my questions. Bob also asked how many grocery stops we wanted, as he could give us up to 3. :)

For the record, I also asked Murray Hill (transportation2disney) -- their quote was BY FAR the highest.

Tiffany - never responded to my email request (which is disappointing as we've used them several times and have always been very happy with them).

Carrier (which, by the way, I always thought was Cartier?), and they refused to answer twice what sort of vehicle they would put our party of 4 in, and, even though I clearly spelled out that we would need a ride back to the airport, they neglected to put that in their initial quote. After I sent a second email asking for clarification and didn't get it, I gave up on them, even though they were cheaper than Sunray. I could just see them sending a towncar for us 4 adults, all with cruise luggage, and expecting us to all squeeze into one car for the hour ride to Port Canaveral.

Bob was the only one who left me with any confidence that he would keep our reservation straight! So, thanks for the feedback. :)

Your title scared the bejeebers out of me too. I have always, always had a wonderful experience with them. I always post my postive experiences here. Roger has never asked me, and he knows that I am a DIS member. He did ask me last time if I had seen anything negative about them. I told him I didn't, but I did a search when I got home and I didn't find a thing.
I too am willing to send letters of kudos, as well as jeers. Too often we only hear the negatives, very rarely the positives. Just finished a cheer letter to Disney this morning about the great service we had from the CM's in luggage services at SSR. They were great as well!!!!
