Was at the resorts this past Monday. It was pretty crowded. Hopped from CA to DL around 3 pm. By then, the line at Splash was up to 90 mins. Got a fastpass and the only times available by then were for 8:30 to 9:30 pm. What I don't understand was that I was not able to get any other fastpasses for any other rides. I thought that since my FP's were not valid unitl very late, I would able to get FP's for other attractions earlier. Basically I had to resort to the stand by line for the remainder of the evening. Just what are the restrictions for fast passes?

If you got your FastPass at 3pm, you should have been able to get another one at 5pm. From what I understand, you can get one 2 hours after even if you haven't hit your ride time on the other pass. I don't know how many FP would still be available at 5pm. In WDW they are pretty much gone by mid to late afternoon.

Try to get to DL early for increased FP usage. You will at a minimum be able to get 1 every 2 hours. First thing in the morning you may be looking at one every 40 minutes. Remember, they will always make you wait until the window on your FP opens, but I have never been turned away from using one that is current for the day, but expired otherwise.

Also, remember Matterhorn does not fastpass - so get there early.

The easiest way to know when you can get another Fast Pass is look at the bottom of the FP ticket. It should say something to the effect of... Another Fast Pass will be available after ________

But the long explination:

If your FP return time is within 2 hours- You are able to get another pass when that pass is "available for use" So if I got a FP at 9am at Indy with a return time of 10:20-11:20 I would be able to get a FP again at 10:20

If your FP return time is AFTER 2 hours- You are able to get another pass at the 2 hour mark. So if I got a FP at 9 am for Indy with a return time of 12:45-1:45- I would be able to get a new pass at 11am (well in reality itd be 11:03- its not totally accurate)

---------------
So with your example- You should have been able to get another FP at around 5 pm

Everything you could ever want to know about DL and DCA Fastpass is posted on Mouseplanet. I would give you a URL to the thread, but this board will not allow a URL because I have not posted enough messages yet.

Go to Mouseplanet and search for messages from Darkbeer. It was posted only a few days ago. The thread title is "The Joy of FASTPASS - Summer 2005 - details and secrets".

Wow... I thought I understood the FP process from our trips to WDW.... but that article was enlightening!! Thanks so much for the OP who posted the question, the person who suggested the link but couldn't provide it, and to the person who provided the link! I'm printing the information and committing it to memory (not kidding!). I KNOW it will come in handy during our trip this summer!..................Thanks again!!............P
