It was suggested I repost this here...any suggestions??

I have a room booked at Beach Club for my family..four of us. My son is 16 and my daughter is 9 will be close to ten. The reason I picked BC was because of the two queen beds and day bed option (like we had at the Poly) . Called today to confirm a few things and was basically told "Not guaranteed (which I knew) if there's a family of five they'll pull it from you because you only have four."

What do I do? My only guarantee of three beds was bunks at WL or AKL. Hubby wants to wait it out and see what happens but he's against DS and DD sleeping in the same bed at their ages....just his thing. I'm nervous if we get there and all we get is two queens he's going to flip. What are my chances of it all working out...meaning do the majority -- or more than not -- have the two queens/day bed option for rooms? For the record, I checked switching to Poly too because I love it there and nothing was available and she said that wasn't a guarantee either. Gah!

This is not a perfect solution, but in a pinch when we have only had two beds we have always had DD12 sleep with me and DS7 sleep with DH.

I do not know if BC offers a rollaway option.

I think the only absolute guarantee may be to book a suite. Pricey, of course.

I'm seeing a lot about people getting magic bands and FP+.

Is a trial for resort guests this month happening?

Yes, at a few resorts, all guests that booked packages are testing them.

We' booked a package so we'll have to wait and see if we hear anything. Would love to be one of the ones testing the new system. 9 more sleeps and we'll be at BCR. I'm more excited then the kids.

I can help you a bit. We have the same issue..We've stayed at Beach Club many times. Only one time we didn't get the daybed, so as an alternative, they have us a rollaway bed. Took up a bit of room (by the back doors to the balcony) but it was fine..
We were supposed to stay BC this time, but I switched us to a Deluxe room @ the WL.
I thought BWI sleeps 5?
When are you staying? I find that it was more difficult during high occupancy times.

There are rollaways at the BC and you can call housekeeping for one and it will be delivered to your room. No charge. If someone tells you something different (about a charge), go to the front desk ... not call, go in person. I'm talking about the BC not the BCV.

BC is not participating in August. The YC is though.

This is what I was hoping for and when I called and asked (the reservation line mind you) they "don't do cots" anymore. Worst case scenario I don't want to get down there and pay $2000 + for a room and have someone without a bed.

Also wanted to pass along there seems to be BoG openings for the week of Aug 5-12th. not sure if there are a few for everyday but I know the 9th had 2 openings. Nothing for the next week (when I will be there), but fingers crossed.

Thanks for the update. Will be there starting August 17th and was not able to find a BoG reservation. However I came across this link and appears was able to make a counter service lunch reservation. Not sure if this is tied to testing fast pass plus but just entered my reservation number and was able to pick a day and time. Can even per-order your mail in advance. I can't paste links yet but here is the website:

Thanks. I meant to tell the poster that I did not know if BC offered a rollaway option (now I do! :) ). I edited my post above to reflect that so I wouldn't confuse anyone.

i hope this isn't a completely weird question, but can't you sleep with dd and dh sleep with ds? we have never stayed anywhere where we actually used more than just the two beds, as a family of four.:confused3

Ticket scanners were having issues at AK as well this morning. Would not work at all and then when they started working many of us still had cards that had to be processed manually. FP worked fine.

We are off to Les Chefs de France for dinner tonight. Never been so very much looking forward to it!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

We dined there last week. It was really good!! I was so worried before getting there!

Enjoy your night ..... Eat a baguette or two for me :)

Good to hear--I booked us for Les Chefs lunch in two days. My kids are excited for a "fancy" lunch :artist:

This is what we do! We are used to a king bed and it gives us more room:crowded: not ideal, but it works:thumbsup2

Whee!!! Just have to look at my ticker one more time before we're off ridiculously early in the morning!
