Don't Do That!

If you get on a bus expecting a seat & there are none, maybe you should get off & wait for the next bus - some of the people occupying those seats may have done the same ;)

youre right. Chivalry is dead. :confused3

aww, poor thing. I hope he got better later in your trip.

He didn't and the worse part was the plane home. It just about killed his ears. I felt so bad for him but thankfully in his memory he still had a good time. I'm praying none of us get sick this upcoming trip.

If you knew he was sick why even take him to the park. If he got sick in the park, you don't give him a chose. He five. Your the parent. You exposed thousands of people to the flu .

People who take obviously sick kids into the parks because they don't want to miss a day area per peeves. I've seen kids vomit and parents are like oh he's fine just a stomach bug

I washed his hands and antibacterialed him up all day long.

He wasn't throwing up...

And everyone has germs... That's why you should wash your hands yourself constantly to avoid picking them up.

He still contagious. Sneezing coughing talking all ways to spread the flu. Look at the measles out break. They weren't vomiting but managed to infect hundreds of people with the measles

And antibacterial gels don't necessarily kill flu germs

And you brought him on a plane. So a confined space where people can't even get away from you.

Oh my god. How else was I suppose to get him home?

And He wasn't sneezing or coughing by the way and I wiped everything down before and after. We had our own row. He wasn't sitting next to anyone but me.

You wait until he's better. It's why we buy trip insurance. The person in front of you was well with in the area where germs are spread by talking and breathing ( unless he wasn't doing that either). The flight attendants helping you and then others. The people you passed on your way to your seats and when you got off. The people you sat near waiting for the plane. All people you potentially infected

Geez. I give up. I'm a horrible person. You've got me. I didn't know germs could be spread by breathing. Next time I'll make sure to put him in a bubble.

We were in Blizzard Beach, the ride where you have to carry your 8 foot float up the stairs to the launch pad. I was carrying it on my back behind me. A bunch of teenagers behind us thought it was hilarious to keep pushing the float (and me) forward. Midway up the stairs, they pushed me off balance and I fell back a few steps, pushing them down the stairs too. It scared me a little, but I think it scared them a little bit more.

Lesson, respect space and don't crowd the people in front of you.

I realize that many of the things I would tell people "don't do" are part of my parenting standards but ...here goes.

don't destroy the flower beds by throwing the mulch all over the ground and stomping on the flowers
don't push in front of strollers & wheelchairs and but do give up your seat if an older adult walks up
don't leave your young stroller kids unattended for you to go to the bathroom or much less ride a ride
don't think you are entitled to anything
don't be a commando stroller mom that is hell-bent and determined to get across the park in 3.6 seconds
don't scream at your kid cause they don't want to ride a ride you want to go on and realize that the meltdown they are having is prob cause they are exhausted and overstimulated
don't come to WDW thinking it is going to be perfect. you get what you put into it.

When a child is clearly afraid of a ride and a parent makes him go on it anyway. We went on POC one time and a small child was crying no, don't want to, I'm scared as the parent dragged him into the boat. He cried the whole time. Accomplishment - traumatized child and ruined ride for everyone else.

Last time we were at WDW my daughter was 4 years old and my son was 2. I'd taken him on Haunted Mansion and he was fine. I think they're too young to understand why things are scary. So we were all going to go on HM together. Before we got in line I squatted down in front of my daughter and explained the ride to her: it's dark and scary things are happening. She started freaking out and yelling. So we went on it's a small world instead.

My point is I agree with you. If your child says they're scared, they'll be scared no matter what happens. They build it up in their mind a certain way. Yes it's irrational, but they're young and that's just how it is. I knew this and that's why I described it in scary detail before we went on it to make sure she wouldn't freak out during the ride.

We have been many times and people never cease to amaze me. Last spring we were there with my sons marching band and it was during the f&g. At epcot they had mickey, minnie and pluto topiaries (sp) and these mid 20's kids decided to run up into the flowers so their friend could take a picture. I was amazed and as I yelled at them hey get out of there a cast member and security came running and the "adults" started giving them a hard time. They were escorted by security and sheriff deputies as people clapped. As they were being removed CM were fixing the flowers.

On our second trip my kids were 5-8 and we were waiting in the line for buzz almost at the entrance to the building when this family walks right in front of us. My wife politely said excuse me the line starts back there and they did not speak english, or so we thought. My son said dad that was rude. I said well if it is that important to them that they have to jump in front of people to make their "Disney Experience" then I guess we will be the better people and wish them a great ride. The father turned to me with a look of anger on his face and I just smiled and my 5 year old said have a great ride lol

It's not like a city bus. If you want s seat, you'll be first in line for the next one. When we see the monorail filling up, we step aside & wait for the next one specificaly so we have a seat. Now that I've waited for that seat, I'm not giving it up for someone who insisted on getting on an already full car instead of waiting in line like everyone else. Expecting someone to give up a seat when they've waited longer than you is no better than line cutting.

No I know. I was just trying to be funny. I don't want to say I was expecting one. I guess I was raised to give up my seat to someone in need and I've seen it done so many times. That when it didn't happen I was just shocked. But you're right. I shouldn't expect it to happen. And I was grateful when they did.

Mine was mentioned a little earlier, but last year we were headed past the stroller parking near Tomorrowland Speedway and looked down to see a toddler asleep in the stroller with no parents anywhere to be seen.

Another is the person at dining reservation check in who is a few minutes late and thinks he should get to go to the front of the line to check in

Hmmm, really?
Oh, absolutely. Ropes, chains, hand rails, barriers, velvet ropes, etc are NOT seats. It is to be hoped that the dopey kid and his negligent parents/guardians learn that even if it is the hard way. :crutches::)

-I'm all for love and affection, but please DON'T make out and fondle one another right out in the open(at times right in the middle of the street as the parade was approaching)
-DON'T be mean to characters
-DON'T have mean spirited treatment towards the resort wildlife & nature
-DON'T have no regard for resort structure, plants, decor, attractions, etc. That includes allowing your kids to kick and damage anything they want. Or pee anywhere they want.
-Please DON'T change your diapers out in the open...on top dining tables
-DON'T be rude & selfish to other guests & CMs(and the same goes for some rude CMs too!)
-DON'T push and shove when waiting in lines or "rushing" to areas of the park
-DON'T get physical and/or get into a fighting-shouting match making a scene in front of everyone else.
-If you are a tour group, DON'T take over the park and act like no one else around you matters
-DON'T place your kid on your shoulders or hold your giant IPAD above your head, until after your kindly ask the guest(s) behind you if it's ok
-DON'T flash pictures in rides
-DON'T speak loudly over the audio in the attraction...we get it, you know it all by heart
-During a performance or show, please DON'T have a full conversation and loudly talk with the people next to you
-DON'T reserve your pool chairs and not show up for hours after
-If you are in a scooter or have a stroller, you are not any better than the rest of us....DON'T run the path of people ahead of you down or honk your horn(& chances are many of you scooter riders can walk just fine...I've seen you!)
-If you are always going to be miserable, angry and upset...DON'T go to WDW!
