I hate people using cell phones on rides and attractions as well. There was one time, though, that I had to be that person. My mom never calls me on vacation unless it is an emergency. Well my phone rang (vibrated because I had the ringer off) and it was my mom. I quietly answered it. They were hunkered down because there was a tornado. I whispered thanks and I loved her and could she please check on our house when it was over. I felt really bad, and thankfully my parents and my house was fine, but what if they hadn't been okay.
Have you ever heard the classic: "we paid $xyz, for this vacation, you are going to have fun!" ? There are varieties, also. I love to people watch, but it's sad how unhappy or angry people get sometimes!
Ha, my gf and I call those people the "Good Monies."
"We paid good money for this! We can cut the queue if we want!"
"You're going to have a good time because we paid good money for this!"
"I can't believe the wait time is 45 minutes! We paid good money for this!"
The worst I've ever seen was a family attempt to exit a parking lot tram that was going full speed. I guess they really wanted to get to the gates so mom or dad told them to tuck and roll.
I don't usually say anything about it but electric scooter caravans are the worst and I've seen people correct the behavior before. Just because you have a mini-car does NOT mean you're allowed to drive two or three abreast down the path. So insanely rude.
Also the complete drunken idiots at Epcot. Especially the drunken idiots at Food and Wine. Had a group commandeer the mic on our resort return bus at the end of the day while screaming profanities and blasting terrible reggaeton. Bus driver did nothing until an angry father nearly got into a fistfight with the guy. Then we sat on the side of road for 30 minutes while two grown men pushed and prodded each other.
Seriously people, if you can't hold your alcohol don't drink to excess at Disneyworld!
I'll one up the bus thing. Got on one and it was full. Sleeping four year old in my arms weighed bout 40 lbs. I'm 5"4 and small. Thought I was about to die. No one would get up.. I was completely shocked. Finally this lady hits her husband and points to me and he goes "what?" She rolled her eyes and said get up. I think I said thank you to her a million times.
We were at WDW in January and we waited several times for the next bus, since we could see the bus in front of us was going to be full before we got on. DH and I are both 57, and he has trouble with his left foot. It was difficult for him to do all the walking during the day and to have a seat on the bus going back to our resort was important to us. If you wanted to be assured you got a seat on the bus you should have waited for the next one, and not get onto a full bus and then expect someone would give up their seat for you.

I don't think this is the type of cell phone call anyone on here is talking about. People can overlook your type of call, or at least I would. An emergency is totally different than someone ranting way on their cell phone about their brother house sitting, or a car insurance problem. Those type of people shouldn't have even gotten on the ride.
No, but common sense seems to be. If you need a seat, you don't get on a full bus. You wait for the next bus or you go grab a cab. If you can't safely stand, why put yourself at the mercy of strangers? Take matters into your own hands, and see to the safety of your family members.
