Hi! :wave2: Thanks for stopping in on my current TR.

I noticed from your ticker that you'll be in Disney World just a few days after we arrive on May 22. :) I also have a 7 year old son. Well, actually he's my nephew, but has lived with us for about 3 1/2 years, calls me mom and my husband, dad, so he's practically like a son!

Well, I left you ready for bed on that Friday evening. Everyone was so tired from traveling on most the day on Thursday, half the day on Friday, and then a full evening at MK. We got in the bed, but a little girl named Meg had different ideas. :sad2: She began to cry as soon as we all got in the bed, “I wanna hose you, Mommy.” If she said it once, she said it a hundred times! The funny thing was that my sister was in the same bed with her, right beside her! I will just go ahead and tell you that we went through this same process every night at bed time (with the exception of maybe one) ! Once, during this crying time, my sister asked Meg if she wanted her to give her a dose of ________ (fill-in blank with an allergy medicine known to make your kids sleepy) . I piped up with, “Yes, and can I have some too?” Then my nephew, Reese, adds, “Me too!” :lmao: Elizabeth, Rachel, and I just cracked up, which just made Meg cry even louder. So I had to shush them quickly!

What seemed like an hour, was probably actually just 10-15 minutes, and we were all finally getting some rest. :cloud9:

The next morning was Saturday, March 20. This was the day my daughters’ band group would be playing in DHS. They weren’t scheduled to play until 4:10 p.m., so I thought we probably had plenty of time to play around that morning. We planned to go to EPCOT at the 9 o’clock opening and hit up the big rides, TT and Soarin’. Well, my big girls could not get themselves up and moving….AND when they finally did, they had to spend 30 minutes flat ironing that hair and putting on make-up! I was patting my foot at the door, impatiently!

Finally we headed out the door for the bus stop around 9:15. Now unfortunately, we had some rotten bus luck this morning. Six busses came by during the next 15-20 minutes, but not one was for EPCOT! Two for each park came, but not one for us! I finally went over to the transpo guy standing there with his clipboard (and of course, I’m thinking he’s not doing such a great job). I asked him when we might be getting an EPCOT bus, since we’ve had six for the other parks. He told me something about a problem (UH…YEAH! ), and that one should be there shortly. Within 5 minutes, one came and I was determined that we were getting on that bus!

Here’s a pic of Rachel and Meg on the bus that morning. Just our first full day, and already, they look tired!

By the time we caught a bus, rode to EPCOT, got through security (and BTW, I hate the bag check line at EP more than any other park---It seems so inefficient!), went through the ticket gates, it was well after 10 a.m. The stand-by lines for the big rides were already 45-60 minutes, so we grabbed a FP for Soarin’ and decided to see a little orange fish friend.

It was a 5 minute stand-by, practically walk-on, so we headed in for a ride in our clam-shell.

As we were riding, I had a text from the girls’ band director that they would be at their hotel in Celebration to change into uniforms at 12 and that I could meet them there then. It was already 10:30. So as soon as we finished Nemo, I had to leave with the girls to get back to POR, pick up band dresses, drive over to the Celebration hotel, and get them delivered to their group. My sister, Kelly, decided to stay in the park with Reese and Meg and do a few other things.

Of course, all the way to the park exit, I told the girls (several times, probably) that if they’d woken up earlier and gotten ready more quickly, then we could have gotten to the park earlier and gotten some more things done. I think they probably shut me out after the tenth time I said it! ;)

They do look tired--already! And I definitely think you need two bathrooms with those girls from now on. ;)

Looking forward to hearing about the band performance.

Hooray an update! That Meg looks so cute and pitiful in the picture. Great picture for memories.

I didn't know the bag check lines were bad at Epcot. We didn't use them on our last trip b/c we always went in the back gate and never had a problem (or lines) with bag check there. I am glad you mentioned it so I can keep it in mind for our next trip.

Sorry you didn't get to do much at Epcot that morning. I hope Meg and Reese got to have fun when they stayed.

I can't wait for more!

Hey Michelle . Love the update :thumbsup2. I think that particular ummmmmmm allergy medicine is great. I take it when I don't want to take my sleeping pill.

You sound like me, fussing about the girls not getting up. I CAN'T stand to be late for anything.

Ugggg, sorry you couldn't get your teenagers moving that morning! You sure went through alot of trouble for just a ride on Nemo

Looking forward to hearing about the band performance!

Why is it the little one always has to fuss at bedtime? I'm glad to hear that she eventually calmed down and fell asleep.

I so would have been like you waiting impatiently at the door. I'm sorry to hear that yall didn't get as much done as you had hoped. I now wonder if the girls were on the ball for the other days of the trip.

I look forward to hear about how the performance went.

I'm here on page 7. Somehow I missed this had started. Couldn't be all the Easter, first birthday, and Bellarie's surgery stuff I have going on. A good Diser could overcome all that and keep up with everyone's reports. Oh well I'll settle for just a mediocre Diser I guess!

More Pictures Please!

I promise that I have more pictures......It's just that I wasn't at Epcot long enough that morning to get any pictures!

Oh no! Sorry you didn't get too much accomplished at Epcot :guilty: Can't wait to hear about the band playing though! :goodvibes

Oh, that's ok, Courtney. We went back on another day and did everything we wanted to do at EPCOT. :thumbsup2

LOVING your trip report!!! popcorn::popcorn:: Impatiently waiting to hear more!!

Thanks! :) This was just a little mini-update. I ran out of time this afternoon!

I am looking forward to hearing all about the band, and pictures.

I have more to tell. Maybe I'll get to finish some more about that Saturday later tonight. :)

Got to do a little Easter frock shopping first, though!

I believe that more and more with every Disney trip we make crammed into one room/bathroom!

Thanks, Susan! Meg is definitely a cutie, even though she doesn't like to sleep at night! ;)

The bag thing is just my opinion. I just find EP's bag check to move the slowest of all the parks.

We did get to go back to EP on another day, so we still got to do the good stuff! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Yes, Dana, what would we do without our allergy medicine?

I hate to be late, yet it seems like I am for nearly everything, when my children are involved! :headache:

:rotfl:Isn't that the truth, Michelle? Thanks for reminding me of that!

I now wonder if the girls were on the ball for the other days of the trip.
.

This is all I have to say to that, Megan: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's quite ok, Jill. There's a lot of stuff going on right now. Rachel's birthday is this weekend, too! I know that little Bella is going to have a fantastic birthday! I can't wait to see all the pictures! :thumbsup2

Sorry your girls didn't get moving as fast as you would like!

Can't wait to see and hear about the band!:goodvibes

Poor little Meg! She just wanted to "hose" her Mommy! :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about the sleeping problems and lazy morning. Teenage girls are SO. SLOW. :sad2:

Looking forward to reading more about your day! popcorn::

Wish that allergy med would work on my kids. Cayley always asks for it on the plane. "Sleepy medicine please" Gotta get those chickies moving!
