DON'T CRY OR WE'LL RIDE DINOSAUR AGAIN! A Spring Break TR---Final Thoughts 5/5

I love all the drawings that you guys did!!! Ellie and I have done the class twice now and Ben has promised to go with us in June! Ellie has that book too and loves to draw the characters! We drew Pluto last year and Chip last week. It really is one of my favorite activities in DHS!:goodvibes

All caught up now! :thumbsup2

Your pictures are great! I love the RnRC and ToT pics!

I won't judge you guys on your parenting if you don't judge us! On our 9 hour flight from Spain last week, Ramon kept asking about a certain allergy med in reference to Nerea "now?? Is it time now? I really think it's time...now??" We didn't give it to her, and I had it with us b/c you never know when a child will have an allergic reaction to something so we usually travel with some, but it was oh so tempting! :lmao:

Oh, that chocolate shake - um, YUM!! As you know from my TR, Sci-Fi is one of Miren's faves. But I do agree that it's a lot more about atmosphere than food, even though I usually have the burger also and it's pretty good. Ramon usually has the ribs and he seems to like them, I think. I like that it's dark and quiet in there, it's a nice break. I hadn't planned on eating there this summer though, but Miren matter-of-factly informed me a couple days ago that we were indeed eating there this summer; guess I need to see about making an ADR, huh? :confused3

I'm so glad you guys got to see Fantasmic even with it having been a rainy day. :thumbsup2

Miren was reading along with me on your last few pages with the drawings - we've never been and she wants to go now and she also wants to get the book. Oh, and she thinks your daughters are good artists! :cutie:

Can't wait to hear more!

Oh my gosh, I wish I could draw like that! Stick people are my forte.....
That class would probably leave us all embarrassed.

It does sound really fun though.
:cutie:

Well, you certainly made up for lost time at the Animation Academy! Isn't it fun?! Your drawings were all very good :thumbsup2

What great drawings from the Animation Academy! They all turned out so well! When we did it, our results were not nearly as charming!

We haven't had the chance to do the drawings since we always have a small child or two with us. Maybe this summer MeMom and I can convince the guys to watch the girls long enough to let us go draw.

What fun! That's great that you all found something you were so excited about... and that you got the chance to draw so many different characters!

Don't feel bad, though. While I've known about this attraction for a while, I've never, ever done it! I usually send Ed and Tricia to do it while I watch Playhouse Disney with Billy. ;)

Next time, I'm doing it... it looks like you all had a blast.

Kathy

Loving your report. I have not done the drawings either...I think I will add that to our list. Thanks

I love that you did the animation academy so many times! I hope to try it this time. I have a feeling that how to draw book will be coming home with me, Patrick is really into those right now. And BnB is on my MUST do list!!

Ok now I'm gonna have to try the animation class. And Beauty and the Beast is a must for my next trip, since we missed it in '08. I love your Dopey!!

That Meg is just precious. It looks like it was a really bright day from all of your pictures.

Susan, you will really enjoy the animation class. I thought my Dopey looked pretty good---and I'm actually not that good at drawing even a stick figure!

Beauty and the Beast is always a must for me. It just makes me happy!

It actually got fairly sunny that afternoon, even though the morning started off cloudy.

In all the visits we have done to DW, we have never done the animation class and it is the first thing I plan on doing when we go to the Studios on the next trip -- if nothing else so that I can draw a picture of Tigger. :)

What a great day you guys are all having.

Thanks, Kathy. You will have to try the class. It is a lot of fun---I know my girls will want to do it again in May. They already told their dad that he would have to do it. :) We had a different instructor each time, and only one of them let the class vote on who to draw. All the others just said, "We're drawing_____" and that's who we drew. Maybe you'll luck up and get to draw your Tigger! :thumbsup2

The drawings were great. It looks like a lot of family fun.
Thanks---It was a lot of fun. We'll be doing this again in May. :thumbsup2

I tried to get the family to do it when we went at Christmas, but no one wanted to...

Hmmmmmm, I read your TR, I can't imagine the family not wanting to do something....................:rotfl:

I love the fact that ya'll kept going back to the Animation Studio to draw all of the characters. That's one of my favorite things to do at Hollywood Studios. The drawing you guys did look much better than any of mine ever have.

That's funny! Feel :welcome: to join in on my TR anytime.
I'm not judging, I'm taking notes!:lmao:
Oh wow, sounds like our kids could be great friends. Amy is 11 and Emily is 14.
I hope the band director can swing something. Emily is graduating this year but Amy would love it. Are your girls in marching band? Emily is deciding if she wants to do it. It is a huge commitment, but so rewarding.
I am too. One day it was pouring the whole day and we went to all 4 theme parks.
We'll be there May 12-17 at the Dolphin! What are your dates?
Great update! I've never seen Beauty and the beast. It looks great; putting it on my list for the next trip. Amy LOVES the drawing class. You guys did a lot of them! At least both girls were happy. Great drawings! We got that same book as you. We'll be using it tonight for our DHS disney night.
Have a good night.

I need to go back over to your TR and catch up on everything! :)

Our school does not have a marching band---no football team. It is concert band year round.

We're still in school during your dates---in fact, it's the last week, exam week, so no missing for us. We'll be there May 22-29 and are staying at Beach Club. :woohoo:

My girls both loved the drawing class. I think it would be great to frame some of the better ones to hang in their rooms. :thumbsup2

Love the drawings. I need to put that on my must-do list for August.
Thanks---I think it will be on our must-do list from now on! :)

Thanks, Stacy. I'd love to draw Pluto. I'll bet he turned out cute. :)

The book turned out to be a great purchase. The kids just wanted to draw on the trip home.

Oh my gosh, I wish I could draw like that! Stick people are my forte.....
That class would probably leave us all embarrassed.

It does sound really fun though.
:cutie:

I'm not very good at drawing, myself, but they just go through step-by-step, using ordinary shapes or letters that you place "on top" of each other, until you have the character. You'll have to try it! :thumbsup2

Well, you certainly made up for lost time at the Animation Academy! Isn't it fun?! Your drawings were all very good :thumbsup2
Yeah, Michelle, I think we may have gone a little crazy for animation class. You know that you have your own TR to thank for that. I saw your pictures, and decided that we had to try it! :)

What great drawings from the Animation Academy! They all turned out so well! When we did it, our results were not nearly as charming!
Well, not everyone's was charming each time....................:rolleyes1

We haven't had the chance to do the drawings since we always have a small child or two with us. Maybe this summer MeMom and I can convince the guys to watch the girls long enough to let us go draw.
Jill, you will have to convince the men to watch the girls---You and your mom would love this. :thumbsup2

Loving your report. I have not done the drawings either...I think I will add that to our list. Thanks

Thanks for reading! :) Definitely add that to your list. It was a lot of fun!

I love that you did the animation academy so many times! I hope to try it this time. I have a feeling that how to draw book will be coming home with me, Patrick is really into those right now.

It is a lot of fun, and I think the girls were just really into doing something new at Disney. :)

The book will be a great purchase. :thumbsup2

It was a lot of fun, Kathy. You will definitely have to try it. :thumbsup2 I think it turned out to be one of the girls' favorite things.

Thanks, Lisa. I kind-of-felt funny going back so many times during the same day. But then, I saw this one lady, and she had a stack of drawings---about 6-8 of them, and it was just her. So I quit feeling weird! :rotfl:

Oh, I can't imagine trying to keep little ones happy during a 9 hour flight. I'll bet you were worn out by the end of the flight!

Sci-Fi would be a great place to relax and cool off on a warm, summer day. You definitely need to get that ADR made. I can't remember---when are you going during the summer?

Tell Miren thanks! That's sweet. :cutie: The girls will like hearing that!

Yeah, Michelle, I think we may have gone a little crazy for animation class. You know that you have your own TR to thank for that. I saw your pictures, and decided that we had to try it! :)

Well, since you all obviously enjoyed it, then I'll take credit. If you had hated it, well, then I would say that was all on you

I'm still sad that we lost our drawings :sad1:

The drawings look great! I look forward to the day we'll be able to do the class too. Cooper is still a little too young.

You can take all the credit! :thumbsup2

I remember that you lost your drawings. :sad2: Maybe you and your mom can do it during this coming trip, and get those drawings home this time! :)

Thanks, Megan! :) It really is a lot of fun. Maybe you and Bryan can trade off with kids and ya'll can take turns about and do it. :thumbsup2
