DON'T CRY OR WE'LL RIDE DINOSAUR AGAIN! A Spring Break TR---Final Thoughts 5/5

I. Want. This. Right. Now!!!

Excellent food porn pix!!

I love Meg with her upside down :3dglasses.

Ever since TSM came out, Sunset Blvd is great in the morning!

Based on your hints, I'm drawing some conclusions about where you went next! :rolleyes1

The chocolate shake was yummy. :thumbsup2 Elizabeth had a cookies-n-cream shake, and it looked good, too---but no pictures.

Meg is cute anyway---but I thought that pic was really cute!

Yeah, Sunset Blvd is a good place to be. I love getting a RnRC and ToT in during the morning---It really wakes me up!

Love the update. So, did you end up enjoying your food at Sci-FI? And I never win on those rides either. Our last trip, I told my DH I wanted the inside because he always sits there. I thought this way I would win. Wouldn't you know, it my "shooter" was broken! :rotfl2:

Sci-Fi was fine---not the best burger I've ever had, but the atmosphere was fun! :)

That's funny about your "shooter" being broken. Mine must always be broken, then!

I'm with Kathy - I need that shake RIGHT. NOW!!! :lmao:

You guys got a lot done before lunch! ToT is my favorite ride. Great pictures, as usual. :thumbsup2

The shake was very yummy-a-licious! I definitely think we'll all get one when we're there in May. :thumbsup2

I love ToT, too, Julia. It's Kevin's favorite ride. :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed Sci Fi, even if you didn't love the food. Dh and I shared a burger and fries the first time we went and each had a shake. It was plenty of food. :thumbsup2

Yeah, Carissa, I definitely think a burger could be shared there, especially if you're having a shake. That's probably what Kevin and I will do in May. :thumbsup2

I love the DHS pictures. That chocolate milkshake looks so good. I am so excited to try Sci-Fi. I have always wanted to go there and just never managed to make it there. We always ended up at Pizza Planet or that big CS place near Star Tours.

It was our first time at Sci-Fi this trip. The food wasn't bad, but I stuck with other's advice to get burgers and fries. The atmosphere is definitely the best part---lots of fun! :thumbsup2

I'm all caught up Michelle! Loved seeing all the pictures of things I just saw in person! Glad you got to see Fantasmic! We didn't make it this trip so it's on the top of my list for June!!

We feel the same about Sci-Fi...ok food but it was a fun place to try. Ben wants to eat there again so on a future trip I guess (he's a TV addict too;)). Oddly enough, the car wasn't there this week or I totally missed it (and I was looking for it so if I missed it, I am really clueless!:confused3). Maybe when they are expecting high crowds they move it. It looked like there was a check in kiosk right where the car should've been.

I'm joining in! Sounds like a great trip so far. That stinks that Megan would not go to sleep. Using Dinosaur as a punishment!?! That is just too funny. :lmao:
I never knew Disney had youth activities like Festival Disney. My DDs would love that. I emailed the band director the link for the website.:cool1: What instruments do your girls play? One of mine plays the clarinet and the other one plays the flute and piccolo. Bummer about it raining at Animal Kingdom. Sounds like you made a lot out of your day anyway. We had terrible weather at AK, too. We ate at Sci-Fi Cafe in November and I agree with you; decent food, but nothing to write a novel about.

I've been there when the car was missing, too, but no kiosk - just an empty space. It was back on the next visit, so I guessed it was out for cleaning or painting or something. I wonder if one day it will just be another cool little Disney detail that will disappear completely.

Look at you, living life on the edge and not getting the TSM FP first thing :lmao: Your picture of ToT is great!

Hmmm....I can't quite decide if I want to add Sci-Fi to our list of places to try whenever we visit again. But that shake sure does look yummy :thumbsup2 What do you think, is it worth it? :confused3

Glad you're back, Stacy! I hope you had a great time. :)

That's strange about the car being gone, because we were just there a couple of weeks apart. :confused3 You're probably right, that maybe they move it when they expect higher crowds.

Oh, I hope not. I think my kids will always want to stop there now and have their picture made. :)

It was ok, Courtney. I personally don't think I'd use a TS credit for it, if I was using the DDP. Since we have the TIW discount card, we'll probably just pay OOP for it during our May trip. :upsidedow

:wave2: Hi Barbara! :welcome: to my TR. It's so funny that you posted on my TR, because when I linked over to your TR, I remembered looking at it before---I remembered the picture of you in the hat, and I remembered that ya'll ate at an EOS that wasn't at DTD! That's so funny.

Please don't judge us too badly on our discipline measures against a toddler! :rotfl:

My daughters play the same instruments! Elizabeth plays the clarinet, and Rachel plays the flute. :thumbsup2 Maybe your girls' band director can check it out and work something for next year!

I guess I'm of the mindset that you just have to make the best of it when you're at Disney. If it rains, you've just got to keep on going! :thumbsup2

I see from your ticker that you've got a trip coming up soon. When are you going and where are you staying?

Totally agree with this, especially if you are going to just have burgers and fries - they are plenty big enough to split. It's a good TS to pay OOP for.

I'm here! :wave2:

We went away for spring break and I'm a little behind with everything; I hadn't realized you had started. :)

Need to go get caught up... :surfweb:

That looks so yummy! I want one of those(:

That's ok.....I feel the need to get this TR done, since we're gong back in about five weeks. :woohoo:

That looks so yummy! I want one of those(:

It was yummy, Sara! I want another one myself. :)

After finishing up with TSM, we decided to go visit Mickey over in The Magic of Disney Animation Studio. Meg was happy at the thought of getting to see Mickey up close . :)

While Kelly took Meg to wait in line for Mickey, and Reese played on some of the interactive things, the girls and I decided to go to the Animation Academy. I had read on some other TRs about this activity, and I’m ashamed to admit, that I didn’t know anything about it. I was determined for us to try it.

The girls and I got in to the class, took a seat, and discovered that we were going to be drawing………………………………………………………………………………………….
STITCH!

Here is Rachel’s Stitch:

Elizabeth’s---

Ignore the 3/26, on the paper. Elizabeth obviously didn't know what day of the week it was. On another drawing, she put another date, but it was wrong too! She was on vacation!

My Stitch was just ok, but I didn’t want to bore ya’ll with every single drawing we did, and believe me….we did a few more! :rolleyes1

After we finished with the class, Kelly, Reese, Meg and Rachel decided to go see Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

DSC00547.jpg

Elizabeth really wanted to do the drawing class again, so we circled back into the building and got into the next class. This time we drew Dopey. This was probably the best of the four drawings that I made.

Here’s Elizabeth’s---

We met back up with the rest of the group and headed back toward Sunset Blvd. We grabbed a snack and waited for the next Beauty and the Beast. We didn’t get to see this show during our NYE trip because of the crowds, so I was pretty excited to see it again. It’s one of my favorites. :goodvibes I took a few pictures.

After finishing the afternoon performance, Rachel was busting to go back to the Animation Academy. Reese thought that he wanted to give it a try too. Meg….Well she wasn’t too happy at this time of day!

While waiting on the class, Meg decided that she would take a little nap. We carried her right into that class, and laid her on the bench. She slept right through the class, while the rest of us all drew. What did we draw? Tigger!

Afterwards, Kelly and Meg went outside to do a meet and greet with the Little Einsteins. I took Elizabeth, Rachel, and Reese right back for one last class. (I’m sorry for boring you with all these pictures, but my girls were ALL about this class. They loved it!) :)

For our last class, we drew a chubby, little cubby, all stuffed with fluff. I think this was one of the hardest ones, because there were so many circles Rachel’s was the best of ours, so I’ll just show you hers---

On the way out, we HAD to buy this souvenir—

IMG_0912.jpg

It was almost dinner time, and we were hungry and tired. We’d been at DHS since it had opened that morning, and we were worn out. We decided to go back to POR , put on some warmer clothes, and head downtown……Downtown Disney, that is!

Ok now I'm gonna have to try the animation class. And Beauty and the Beast is a must for my next trip, since we missed it in '08. I love your Dopey!!

That Meg is just precious. It looks like it was a really bright day from all of your pictures.

In all the visits we have done to DW, we have never done the animation class and it is the first thing I plan on doing when we go to the Studios on the next trip -- if nothing else so that I can draw a picture of Tigger. :)

What a great day you guys are all having.

We really enjoyed the animation class when we did it last summer. I tried to get the family to do it when we went at Christmas, but no one wanted to... I'm not sure why we didn't do it in March. :confused3 It's definitely on my DHS list for the next trip, though... it's one of my favorite parts of that park! :rotfl:

That's funny! Feel :welcome: to join in on my TR anytime.
I'm not judging, I'm taking notes!:lmao:
Oh wow, sounds like our kids could be great friends. Amy is 11 and Emily is 14.
I hope the band director can swing something. Emily is graduating this year but Amy would love it. Are your girls in marching band? Emily is deciding if she wants to do it. It is a huge commitment, but so rewarding.
I am too. One day it was pouring the whole day and we went to all 4 theme parks.
We'll be there May 12-17 at the Dolphin! What are your dates?
Great update! I've never seen Beauty and the beast. It looks great; putting it on my list for the next trip. Amy LOVES the drawing class. You guys did a lot of them! At least both girls were happy. Great drawings! We got that same book as you. We'll be using it tonight for our DHS disney night.
Have a good night.
