In about 15 days, I will be taking a group of young dancers down for their first real dance competition. We can't book our faspasses until the day of because of some group ticketing limitations. I can't wait to report back that we still had a magical time. I truly can't wait to see Disney through their eyes.
The funny thing is, I took their moms down as teenagers back in 2000 and 2001 for one of their first dance competitions. I'm pretty sure it will be a very emotional and memorable trip! We plan recreating some of the same pics we took back in 2000 with my young dancers today.

Now that tiers are dead at DHS and EPCOT I love FPP even more than I did before!:cool1:

Awww - what a great thing! It's always amazing to see Disney through the eyes of the young ones. And I LOVE the idea of the recreating the pics - that is awesome!!

No cancelling for us, in fact, we've booked 2 trips this year!

DH & I were able to try out the MB's last October and we had absolutely no problems with them & we also liked FP+ and were still able to ride other popular rides with little wait (and the parks were far from empty). Also, while we are no longer park commandos, we do take advantage of EMH's and find that we can get a lot accomplished before even using our FP's. We have also found that many of the stand-by times are overly exagerated. ie: TSM... last August, can't even tell you how many times the stand-by line said over 2 hours wait, and it only took us between 20-35 min to get on the ride each time (and yes, we timed it). With the exception of Soarin', we found this to be the same at many of the other popular headliners. In a nutshell, we are all extremely excited about our upcoming August trip. We'll be celebrating our youngest DD's sweet 16, we'll be trying a new resort and of all the places we've traveled (and we've traveled a lot), Disney is still our "happy place!" Disney to us is so much more than just the rides...that's why we keep going back :goodvibes.

What a great way to celebrate your daughter's 16th! Hope you guys have an awesome time!!

Cancel? Booking more trips more like lol. Just bought more DVC points thank you very much! We go at least once a year sometimes twice like this year yeah! Last time we really liked our MB and FP+. I am disabled so Rope drop was never possible for us as I am too ill to get in early to get FP. So we never used them. We couldn't do ETWB before because you could not use the GAC card and I cannot wait in line. When I saw it was added to FP+ I was over the moon! I totally enjoyed this even though I am 42 lol. We had a great time with FP+ booking from the room character meets ( I did a how many characters could I meet in one day score lol ) to rides. I loved that it was also my charge card and room key! Again being disabled not having to keep getting a card out was great :-)

One thing I don't get is if these people that the FP+ didn't work out for them and they are constantly saying they are 'never going back it's ruined my whole experience of Disney' why are they still on the Disboards talking about it? If I use a product and don't like it I just don't buy anymore. Simple...

Wait I just looked after reading your post, I was over the moon. But I still see tiers at Epcot and DHS.

You have to book one tier one and 2 tier two reservations- then go in and change the tier two reservations individually- see one of the other several posts about it. You can't choose multiple tier one reservations during the initial booking.

I tested it already today- it definitely works as confirmed by many on this board. It definitely did not work a week ago.

Gotcha, darn its a work around which means maybe Disney did not mean for this to happen :sad2:

Not necessarily- something changed today because it did not work in the past. More likely it is a test to see what happens if this is allowed.

We just got back from a whole week of Disney magic!!! We had a great experience with the bands. I felt bad for the people that didn't have them :) Also on some rides we only scanned one band so we had an extra one to use. We weren't trying to cheat the CM said he just needed one..... When we went to another ride we had an extra person and her two little kids (under 3) and they just let us all through. I know scold me if you want :) It was nice to change it with the app. It did take some getting use to but after a day we got it down. I noticed if you missed one you could change it to a different time (if one was available) then you could go in and change the experience. But you couldn't change the experience once the time passed but you could change the time for the missed one.

Some magic we experienced-
1- we were standing in line for the princesses and it was much much longer than we thought. with 5 kids under the age of three we decided they couldn't wait that long. (plus we didn't have our husbands) On our way out 2 of them started crying. We weren't expecting what would happen next. The CM saw us and let us go through the fast pass line!!!

2-We were in the Germany pavilion at Epcot and I went to get milk at the counter service there but they didn't have any. One of the CM's went into the restaurant and got us a cup of milk and didn't charge us anything!! We were more than willing to pay but she said don't worry!

3- There was magic everywhere!! Especially seeing it through my daughters eyes. She is only 17 months but totally got it!! She loved the characters, rides and even fireworks. I was one happy mama.

Thanks Pigninnie! I will definitely report back!

Anyway, is anyone else loving the new app! I think Disney listened to guest feedback. I really like having my plans available when I open the app. It also looks as if you can book the restaurants that require a cc guarantee from the app now, if you have a cc linked to your account. :thumbsup2

Thank-you for this thread!

One thing I don't understand is why so many people's vacation rises and falls based on the amount of time on the headline rides. A little secret, :listen:in my opinion, Disney headline rides are not as good as the headline ride in parks such as Cedar Point or Universal. Disney's big rides are ok, but definitely not what makes Disney World, Disney World. Go to Cedar Point, or Universal Studios if big exciting rides are your thing. I, in fact love, Cedar Point for that reason.

To me, Disney World is completely different. :lovestruc My first trip there I was disappointed because of the tameness of their rides…I didn't get it yet! After the trip, I figured that I probably wouldn't go back… Disney World was fun, but there were lots of other places to see and do.

Due to the ages of our girls at the time 5 and almost 3, we decided to go back to WDW while our two year old was still free.

And then it happened! Almost everywhere on that second trip brought back all the good things that happened from our the first trip. From Disney Magical Express, the smell of the Polynesian lobby, the smell of Small World, the Land Pavilion, Living with the Land ride, our now must do trip to California grill, watching that bird from our window at Sanaa, and countless other sights, sounds and smells that make WDW now a part of our little family's history.

It's not perfect by any stretch. Yes there are moments where I get aggravated :furious:on every trip, but that life :confused3. But I remind myself how truly lucky I am to be able to go to WDW.

BTW remember to vote in our Restaurant tournament. See link below!

Another great thread...thanks.

It takes us five years to save up and come over from England....we first came when my DD was 5 - now she is 25 and getting married this year! She has decided she would rather have a cheap wedding so we can all come back to WDW this year...ITS BEEN FIVE YEARS AND SHE CANT WAIT ANY LONGER!!

None of us care about FP+ or queues or any of the negative stuff...its the happiest place on earth and we can't wait to come back! We are also going to celebrate 4th July in USA for the first time. I know it will be crowded but I bet the celebrations are something special. We have a character breakfast booked at O'hana on 4th July, and my DD is as excited at 25 as she was at 5!!!princess:

I really don't see the problem here. Maybe we are just easy going people and just go with the flow.

Changes are going to happen whether one likes it or not so just get over it and embrace the change.

I don't see the point in having park hoppers anymore if you can only do 3 FP's a day per one park, I think they should change that somehow but it doesn't deter us from going or posting negative feedback about the parks.

We don't have issue with MB's in the least, like I said embrace the change and if you really don't like it, just don't go. Don't post your negativity for others to see and get discouraged.

We happened to like our MB's and did not have one issue with them or FP+.

This is all just my opinion, take it as you see fit.

The only thing we complain about is the crowds, there is no such thing as a slow time of year anymore. But that being said, we still go and we still enjoy ourselves even with the rude people who think it's ok to trample the little ones to get to a ride that is stationary and will still be there in 5 minutes. Mama bear comes out when that happens whether it's my kids or someone elses.
