Don't be a Drag, Just be a Queen June 3-18 (MORE PICS ADDED 6/25!)

Hey, I'm joining in! You lured me in with the Gaga lyric. I love her! I'm listening to Electric Chapel right now! :thumbsup2

I love live reports... I def need to do that from my Blackberry on our Oct/Nov trip! Great job so far.. it sounds like a beyond amazing trip! Just a few comments...

~Wow, I hadn't seen any pics of the new HM queue, that looks cool!

~Thanks for the info on CL. I can't believe that they don't require a room key for lounge access! I never knew that. So people not paying for CL can just wander on in and eat? That's really, really irresponsible of Disney. But I guess it's not really their fault if people notice that a guest in their elevator is going to the CL, and then get off with the CL guests at the CL floor. They should move the food to a nice private room or something that you need the key to get into, like they do with the gyms.

~Sorry to hear about all the noise at Cali Grill. That's one of our fave restaurants at WDW and usually the atmosphere is so nice and relaxing! Your experience reminds me of what it's like at 1900 Park Fare, both times we've gone, children were literally just...SCREAMING. Like, not crying. Just screaming.

~Ooh, you went to 2 of my favorite CS places in one day.. Wolfgang Puck's and Beaches & Cream, Lucky! Glad you enjoyed.

~Your safari pics are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I am so jealous. We had really good luck with animals on our last trip but the sunrise safari just sounds beyond amazing.

~On our last trip, the busses were worse than ever, too! We're going back to using a rent-a-car after not doing it for a few trips, because seriously time is money and we just spent too much time waiting around or making stops at other places! We could have saved hours. I mean, I get that it's free and all so it's okay, but a car is the way to go for us next time.

~RnRC single rider line ALWAYS takes forever! It made us late for our ADR last year... so weird b/c every other SR line we've waited on takes like 5 minutes. We were there for almost an hour!

~We can't relate to not getting your money's worth at Boma. I have never been more full in my life. Ever. We were drunk on food... seriously. We gave new meaning to being "stuffed silly"! We were acting like total buffoons, it was hilarious! :rotfl:

Hope you have a beyond magical rest of your trip!:wizard:

The plus side to staying at either of those is that you only need to wait for half the amount of busses, since you can walk to MGM and Epcot. ;)

True, but MK is my favorite and I will be cranky if the bus is crummy.

I can't decide how I feel about Boma....it's not that I think it was bad per se, but NONE of us ate eve close to the amount it cost. I know the younger two did not dig it....frankly, I don't think Bill thought it was that fab either.

The walk To Epcot is very easy...MGM is too far from BWV for Bill's knees

The thing about Boma is there just weren't THAT many things I wanted to try. They had 2 different kinds of roast chicken, salmon, ribs, and a beef carving station. That was all of the meat. Crystal Palace is my favorite dinner buffet, but it is $41 per person. That's ridiculous.
We walked from Flying Fish to Epcot the otehr night and it wasn't bad AT ALL. We have never walked to MGM from any of those resorts.

Welcome, __disneygirl! :goodvibes
CL technically requires a room key, but people are getting around it. So aggravating.
The single rider line was a joke! Today we had a similar experience with the FP line at Space Mtn. Stand by was posted 30, DH and DS made it through in about 25. BUT a tour group went in right in front of them. We SAW them go in and DS INSISTED on riding right behind them, so there you have it.
We actually did the TS Wolfgang Puck's, but we have heard Express is really good!

Today we made it to MK EARLY, so that was great. No bus issues. It was pretty smoky this morning, but the smell dissipated as the day progressed. Had a late breakfast at Kona that was very tasty.

The bus we just took BACK from MK was a nightmare. Roasting hot and full of exhaust fumes. Thought I was going to be sick.

Thank you for sharing your adventures with us live -- it's as if we are right back in the World with you. Since we have two small children, we usually visit when school is in session, but next year my husband has a conference in Orlando in June, so we will be hitting WDW in early June, just like you. You all look like you're having so much fun and not much bothered by the heat or crowds (burnt scalps notwithstanding) -- you are giving me hope!

I like the heat, and I am terrible at judging crowd levels, so June is good for me! :rotfl2:

I would rather be sizzling hot than cold. I am miserable when it's cold. Hot makes me happy.

Random pics from MK this morning. The trade off for going to the bus at 7 AM is I am only wearing sunscreen on my face. EEK!

DS and DH went to ride HM yesterday while I went to buy a Christmas ornament. BUT it turns out the Liberty Square shops do not open until 10 AM. So not only did I miss HM, I had to wait until the darn shop opened to get my ornament!

We went back to MK last night. DH has been talking about having a Casey's hot dog the WHOLE TRIP. DS got mad because he didn't want Casey's, he doesn't like hot dogs, the smell of corn dogs makes him sick, blah blah blah. I told DH to go get his stuff and I would deal with DS, but he didn't want to do that so we all ended up at Cosmic Ray's. I had the roast chicken. It was decent. I didn't care for the mashed potatoes, though. DH and DS had "cheese steak", which was meat with Cheese Whiz on top. Yuck.

We did a few rides, then we found what we THOUGHT would be a good spot for Wishes. We were just across the little foot bridge from Crystal Palace. We couldn't see the pics on the castle all that well because we were to the side, but we figured it was not a big deal. Wishes started. There was a tree to my left, and that tree was the exact size and shape to COMPLETELY obscure every bit of 99% of the fireworks. I am the Queen of obstructed views. We NEVER have good seats for Wishes! I am glad we did the Wishes cruise earlier in the trip!

Today is our last "real" park day. :sad2: It is early entry at Epcot, but I fear we will be quite tardy. DS was pouting yesterday that he doesn't want to get up. He knows the trade off is LONG wait times. I bet he will be cranky either way. If I make him get up he will be a beast, if he misses early entry he will be mad.

I don't want to go home tomorrow. I also don't want to deal with luggage, airline check-in, etc. Such a pain. It is much easier to get ready to go to WDW than it is to get ready to go home.

Sorry to see your trip coming to an end, it's been great reading along.

Have a safe trip home

Enjoy your last day!!!

I guess I'm in the minority in that I LOVE Boma. I am adventurous when it come to food. The problem is that I won't be eating there for a long, long time, with 2 little ones that I have to pay adult prices for.

I can post on your thread again guilt free now that I've made several ADRs for August.

Loving all your photos!

That bus thing is even worse at the moderates. Folks complain about the value bus queues being in the sun but I still prefer them to the free for all.

I agree with Tammi about the Epcot resorts-being able to walk to Epcot & MGM(will always be that!) is great. The walk to MGM from BWI isn't too bad I'll do it if I've missed a boat but the walk to Epcot is always quicker than the boat.

Sorry it is your last full day. Hope you made it to rope drop-let DS be cranky at least all 3 of you won't be cranky in long lines.

Kristen-I have been wanting to try that No Way Jose. I have to make it to Beaches & Cream this next trip!!! LOVE your signature photos!!!

Beautiful pictures!!! Ahh, you are really giving me my Disney fix. Kona is my favorite place to have breakfast and now my stomach is growling! That pic of your son making the face next to the Haunted Mansion ghost is hilarious :rotfl:

It's hard to find the perfect spot for Wishes, we really enjoy the right side of the end of Main Street right before you hit the hub. :wizard:

Hope everything goes well today & on your journey home!

We did make it to rope drop today. It was odd, because they only had a few turnstiles designated so the lines were insane.

The plan was to take DS to Sum of All Thrills while DH got FPs for Soarin'. Nope. Innoventions wasn't open early and the FP machines were hooded. :headache: Seriously?

We did Soarin' on stand-by. When we got off the FP machines were open so we grabbed FPs. We had breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. After that it was 9 AM so we went to Sum of All Thrills, we rode Test Track through single rider, then we rode Imagination and Nemo. Saw the manatees, which are ALMOST as good as gorillas. Rode Soarin' with our FPs.

We headed over to Mexico about noon. I had a blood orange margarita. :)

A friend of mine & her family met up with us for lunch in China (counter service) then we just wandered around a bit. It was HOT, so DH gave up and came back for a nap. DS and I stayed long enough to go see Captain EO again (DS loves it, for some reason). We came back for a nap and we'll go to Citrico's for dinner. No, that was not the original plan. We were going to go to bluezoo, but MK is open until 3 AM so we figured we'd go to dinner close to MK and pop in there for awhile tonight.

I don't want to go home tomorrow. I also don't want to deal with luggage, airline check-in, etc. Such a pain. It is much easier to get ready to go to WDW than it is to get ready to go home.

Isn't that the truth? I despise having to pack up to go home. Squeeze as much magic out of your last day as you can. :goodvibes

I'm sorry your trip is coming to a close. I hope you have fun in the MK tonight!!!

Well, it was storming while we were at dinner, and it was drizzling when we came out, so we are back at the hotel. And we are exhausted.

I went through online check-in for our flight. It offered me an exit row, but it didn't offer to let me upgrade to business class. Hmm. So I looked online and it still showed business class seats. I called and got all 3 of us squared away with upgrades. Now we'll see what sort of debacle it is with luggage fees tomorrow. There shouldn't BE luggage fees. Unless they whip out that stupid tape measure. :headache:

Sounds like you had a good day in Epcot. Too bad your trip is coming to an end.

Also, I hope you don't get hit with luggage fees! I am traveling for a month, so I had to pack a months worth of stuff. My bag was 49.6lbs. Just under 50. Talk about cutting it close! I cannot pack any souvenirs for the way home. :lmao:

Hope you enjoy the rest of your time!

I usually bring a duffle bag. When we go home I check one of the carry-ons and use the duffle for souvenirs. We hardly bought anything this year, but I am wishing I had the duffle. :headache: I didn't bring it.

I have a big backpack for the plane and a small backpack for the parks. I am checking my carry-on so I can bring both backpacks on the plane, but we have a gallon Ziploc bag full of chocolate (love turn-down service!) that I don't want to put in a checked bag. Oh, and it is heavy.
