Don't be a Drag, Just be a Queen June 3-18 (MORE PICS ADDED 6/25!)

I'm joining in! Woo Hoo for 15 days; we have done 16 and 19 days and they were the best trips. We have a 10 day planned for Nov/Dec to see the Holiday sights!

We will miss you! I'm sure your Star Wars trip will be fabulous. Perhaps not as fabulous as eating Dole Whips or drinking around the world with 30 or so friends, but fabulous in its own way. ;)

Oh, I would love to go with you guys. Hopefully I can next year. But this trip will get me major bonus points with an 8-year old. :)

Welcome! :)
We did 17 nights a couple of years ago, but DH's work schedule has changed so he can't take that many days off in a row anymore. We have been several times in December, but they are always short trips. A long trip would be terrific! :goodvibes

DS was 8 on our first trip. The time goes too fast not to take advantage of it. There will be more chances for you to meet up with the rest of us - enjoy your DS!

On our first family trip, my older two were 7 and 4.5. My youngest was almost exactly a year from being born. You are right, the time goes so fast!

It's funny. Before our first trip we had never really considered going to WDW. Now I wish we had started going before DS was 8!

Ha! We are there from June 4th (arriving at 9pm)- June 10th (departing mid day). Not one of our parks overlap! :rotfl::laughing: Maybe one of our dinners at a resort will overlap! :goodvibes:goodvibes

That didn't work out very well, did it? :rotfl:

Let's see if the ADRs match up any better than the parks.

June 5 - Flying Fish (subject to change)
June 6 - No dinner plans!
June 7 - Yachtsman
June 8 - House of Blues (subject to change)
June 9 - Citrico's

Where are you guys? I am sure we can coordinate something!

Oh, I know what you mean. I wish that we had started earlier and had been able to go more often when they were young. We went to WDW for our honeymoon in 1988 and then again when I was first pregnant with Matthew in the fall of 1990. It took us a long time to feel like we could afford to go again with the kids, but I sometimes I wish that we'd been a little less fiscally conservative back then. It was probably good that we were, but I think we also missed out.

So the big question.....have you started packing yet?!

:rotfl2: Not yet. In 18 days I will pack. I have already sectioned off my closet. I went through DS's closet last weekend and pulled out all the shirts he has outgrown. All 3 of us have a bunch of new shirts, new shoes, etc. DH says I can't bring a Shoe Bag this year, but he is mistaken. :rolleyes1

I decided on a whim to go buy cheap sunglasses. I mean, we might go to a water park, right? I came home with 3 pairs. One pair is really scratched, which is easier to see at HOME, where I have Windex and a soft cloth. In the store smudges and scratches look alarmingly similar. OK, one pair going back. The other 2 pairs are just "meh". The ones that were $7 will work for putzing around at the pool this summer. The other ones I am debating on. I might wear them to drive to carpool today and see how they are.

If I don't like them I will probably go to Rack this weekend. And that always leads to very bad things. Last weekend it resulted in 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of jeans for DS.

just checking!!

4 weeks 'til departure! :yay:
Which is 28 days.
18 working days.

It's unfortunate that I really don't have anything to do in the meantime. I guess I could go get cash to put in the tip envelopes.

I'm in!!! Your son is so handsome!!! I can't believe how much he has grown!
Beautiful family!

I think you need to start a count down for your packing!!!!!

Hi! Joining in since we're not only going for the same dates (June 8th-16th here), but you're also going to Star Wars Weekends. I've never been down there for a SWW so I'm going to check out your old TR hoping for some tips. ;)

Hi, Candy! :goodvibes Those photos are actually from last year. Wait 'til I post some new ones! He was 5'3" the last time I measured him for an audition, so I am guessing he has grown like 4" since those photos were taken.

16 days 'til packing!

Welcome, Teresa!
We will be doing Star Wars "slacker" version this year. :rotfl: My suggestions are: get there early, plan to stand in line all day, MAKE AN ADR FOR LUNCH. The Fast Pass tickets for the celebs are OUTSIDE the turnstiles so people line up insanely early. Only the person with the Fast Pass is allowed inside the rope area for the meet & greet, but you can hang over the rail to take photos OR hand your camera to the CM. Our DS is much older than your little ones, so he was able to go through the Fast Pass line by himself and meet the celebs by himself. Since it is the SAME people this year he may choose not to do celebs at all, which would be FINE with me. It was incredibly hot last year, and NO shade. Our return time for autographs was pretty late, too. I think the first autograph was around 3:30 PM. The people we met in the line got their FP, went back to their hotel, then came back to the park a little before their assigned time.
