DONE 7/28!! My Life on the DVC Blacklist - an August '09 Pre-Trip.

Gramma’s “Favorite” ride, by the way, is the drive back home.
OMG V that's hilarious :rotfl2:

It's so great that you get to meet T but hey that's your first meet without me there too :sad1: And I'm really hoping I can meet Michelle and family in December :thumbsup2

Anyway, contrary to popular belief, I’m more of a big picture person than one who sweats the minute details.
Yeah, me too. :rolleyes1

I futz around with those details only because I know that if I put in the time early, I’ll be able to kick back and enjoy the big picture-style Disney trip once I’m there.
You WHAT? Hold the phone... I need my thesauras. ;)

If forced to single out a ride to label “Favorite,” I suppose I’d have to go with Tower of Terror (TOT). Anything that drops me repeatedly and makes me feel weightless is a winner in my book. :teeth: Couple that with some amazing Imagineering and a nod to a creeptastic TV show, and I’m a happy camper.
Dude! We need to ride this together!! :worship:

Traveler #2: Leo. Leo is my soon-to-be-7-year-old son and fellow WDW addict.
Where ever did the time go?? I can't believe he's going to be 7! :sad2:

So, no Gramma on the trip, but there’s always a possibility she’ll show up in an installment, so I thought it best to introduce her.
 NO Gramma??? Bummer.

A few other DISer buddies just might make it, too (you know who you are ;)I’m wishing on every Disney star they do.
::yes:: Me too!

Traveling DIS Family #1: The Waldos! T, her husband Andy, daughter Maddie and son Evan. Also T’s dad, Waldo, and her mom, TE.
The WHO???? (NORogerDaltrey) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I first met T shortly after I joined and began posting on the DIS. I was pretty unfamiliar with Internet discussion boards on which vast numbers of strangers congregate, and was pretty suspicious of who might be on them. But something about T just clicked with me – I liked her instantly and was excited to meet her in person after chatting online for more than a year. Real life turned out to just be an extension of the DIS; T was everything I thought she’d be and more, as evidenced by the very real friendship we’ve forged since that time!
Love ya, my friend!

We had a great time getting to know each other with our fellow DIS friends in Summer of 2007, and repeated the process in Summer 2008. In both cases, we included our kids… to say they hit it off is a major understatement. To this day, Leo wonders aloud what his “Disney Friends” are doing and when he’ll get to see them next. I frequently do the same. :goodvibes
Yuppers.... good times, good times!

Traveling DIS Family #2: TheDISneyFamily! Okay, we’re ALL DISney families, but this is the DISney Family, as so-named on the DIS. ;) Michelle, her husband Steve, daughter Jordan, son Conner, and daughter Brenna.
Ooh, ooh!!! I'm hoping I get to meet the real Michelle and clan, too! Flat Michelle was so much fun, I'm betting real Michelle is way more fun!

Not that I’m enabling, mind you. ;)
RIIIIIIIGHT. :lmao:

Next: Six-year-olds are the most interesting planners…

popcorn::

Gramma’s “Favorite” ride, by the way, is the drive back home.

::yes:: Jo & I think alike - I found this hilarious, too. ;)

Not that I’m enabling, mind you. ;)

Of course not! ;)

I just got some most interesting figures on the tax refund, but I have my BIL's wedding to work around in August. :headache:

Not unexpectedly, Leo’s “Favorite” rides change continually. Nowadays, it would be a toss-up between the Jungle Cruise and the People Mover (or TTA – but Leo calls it by its true and proper name. :thumbsup2 )

Jimmy too ::yes::

Gramma’s “Favorite” ride, by the way, is the drive back home.

:lmao:

Sadly, the plans some other DIS friends with whom we traveled last year don’t mesh with our vacation dates, nor do the plans of others we’ve yet to meet in person and would someday like to. Both situations make me sad. :guilty:

Me too:sad2:

Traveling DIS Family #1: The Waldos! T, her husband Andy, daughter Maddie and son Evan. Also T’s dad, Waldo, and her mom, TE.

So whose jobi s it to keep an eye on Waldo this year.:confused3 :lmao:

Me too. Me too:cool1:

Not that I’m enabling, mind you. ;)

No not at all:rolleyes1

No Gramma! :faint: I'm sure you like it better that way though. I know I didn't like vacationing with my dad. :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear Leo's input in planning. :thumbsup2

I Love reading your updates, they really are hilarious. You have such a unique writing style :rotfl:

BTW...Leo is adorable:goodvibes

Nice intros!!!

I know Leo will make us all proud!

Awe! Please don't be sad about those of us who can't make it this time. We'll see each other eventually. It will be just that much better when we do!!!!:wizard:

Oh my, we still have many months before this trip happens.. I wonder how many times Gramma will be back in and back out. How funny!!

So jealous you get to hang with Michelle and her family. Of course, they only live about 2 hours from me, I guess I could just hop in the car and see her...:confused3

Great introductions. Sure hope you get to ride TOT again soon!

Woo hoo for going in July! :cool1: But boo hoo for missing you by mere weeks. :sad1: I forget - have you guys stayed at SSR yet? I know you'll LOVE it!
Nope. This will be our first DVC stay. We're pretty excited! It will also be our longest WDW trip yet - 9 nights. :woohoo:

Not unexpectedly, Leo’s “Favorite” rides change continually. Nowadays, it would be a toss-up between the Jungle Cruise and the People Mover (or TTA – but Leo calls it by its true and proper name. :thumbsup2 )
Jenny's a big Jungle Cruise fan. She wants to apply for a cruise director position in about 20 years or so from now when we retire. :rolleyes1 Also, I just saw a blurb somewhere that People Mover will be in refurb this summer along with Space Mountain. I'm kind of bummed as I'm a People Mover fan as well.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hi Again!!:) Love your style V!! :cool1: I am so bummed that I will miss Jo by a few days this September !! Anyone else going earlier in September ! I may need Dis Meets as a break from the Family!!:rolleyes1 DSIL is not known for going along with others plans by that I mean MINE!!!!:lmao: So September could be interesting !!!!!:rolleyes1

Well, well...Looky here...the cat dragged me back in...a little tired, cranky and disheveled, but hey - I'm here.

And I'm not happy.

About not being able to be listed as one of the travelers in this PTR.

It's August.

It's tradition.

It's crazy, but it's tradition.

How can I be a chink in the chain??

I should just go ahead and push the button.

Don'tcha think?

It's been killing me.

I'm dying to make the call.

And by now, they've probably un-blocked my number at MS...:rolleyes1 since you've taken their attention off of me, thank you very much!

I suppose it wouldn't hurt anyone if I just went ahead and booked it and worried about it later, right?:confused3

I could always cancel if we can't make it...

I'm going to have to do this on the sly you know.

He (who-shall-not-be-named-but-will-most-definitely-start-arm-flailing-and-neck-craning-upon-mention-of-this) knows that we got the company condo in February.

I can see the look now at the mention of going in August..:headache:

Hmmm...maybe I could just book a short stay. Just for a few days...:rolleyes1

OMG, LL - that post cracked me up! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But all joking aside.

Yes.

You should book.

You're right.

You could always cancel later.

If you had to.

And.

I have 1 word for Tony.

Fuego's.

:teeth:

It's so great that you get to meet T but hey that's your first meet without me there too
I KNOW!!! :sad1: It just feels wrong. It won't be the same at all, but we so need a Flat Jo to bring with us!

Yeah, me too. :rolleyes1
BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, okay.
Dude! We need to ride this together!! :worship:
:thumbsup2 That and Everest!
Flat Michelle was so much fun, I'm betting real Michelle is way more fun!
:rotfl: For sure - much more animated! ;)

I just got some most interesting figures on the tax refund,
Ooooo! :yay:
but I have my BIL's wedding to work around in August. :headache:
Rats. :headache:

Hi Rosie!

So whose jobi s it to keep an eye on Waldo this year.
Well, "Vi" failed that job completely last time around. And I quote:
"T, where are your parents?"
"Um, they left us ten minutes ago V."
:rotfl:

No Gramma! :faint: I'm sure you like it better that way though.
Yes and no. Ultimately, the good outweighs the bad, but it is sometimes nice to have a second adult on hand, y'know? Now that Leo uses the men's room, things are a bit more complicated... :headache:

I Love reading your updates, they really are hilarious. You have such a unique writing style :rotfl:

Thank you so much! He's been particularly sweet and cute this weekend. :goodvibes

Awe! Please don't be sad about those of us who can't make it this time. We'll see each other eventually. It will be just that much better when we do!!!!:wizard:
Absolutely!

No Gramma????:confused3 For now, anyway!!! :lmao:
I know, right?! :rotfl:

So jealous you get to hang with Michelle and her family. Of course, they only live about 2 hours from me, I guess I could just hop in the car and see her...:confused3
That's funny! You guys are on my "list" too - our trips HAVE to overlap one of these days, right?!

Nope. This will be our first DVC stay. We're pretty excited! It will also be our longest WDW trip yet - 9 nights. :woohoo:
I'm doubly excited for you now! Much as I love trying other places, too, SSR is one of my favorite places at WDW, especially in summer. It's just soooo relaxing!
I'm kind of bummed as I'm a People Mover fan as well.
Dude. I haven't told Leo yet that it'll be closed! :scared:

I may need Dis Meets as a break from the Family!!:rolleyes1 DSIL is not known for going along with others plans by that I mean MINE!!!!:lmao: So September could be interesting !!!!!:rolleyes1
Ugh! Yes, you must find some DIS time in there!

Well, well...Looky here...the cat dragged me back in...a little tired, cranky and disheveled, but hey - I'm here.
Hi LL!
And I'm not happy.

About not being able to be listed as one of the travelers in this PTR.
Me neither. :sad1:

It's August.

It's tradition.

It's crazy, but it's tradition.
Exactly!

I should just go ahead and push the button.

Don'tcha think?
::yes::

And by now, they've probably un-blocked my number at MS...:rolleyes1 since you've taken their attention off of me, thank you very much!
:rotfl2:

I could always cancel if we can't make it...
I was going to mention that possibility if you didn't do so yourself in the next couple weeks. ;)

Not that I'm enabling. :rolleyes1

I have 1 word for Tony.

Fuego's.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

too CUTE!!both of you

Gramma’s “Favorite” ride, by the way, is the drive back home.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
A few other DISer buddies just might make it, too (you know who you are ;) )… I’m wishing on every Disney star they do. But I’ll save their intros for now, so as not to jinx anything.
ME TOO!!!
I hope I can make it work, but it doesnt look good. P and Happy are going to a hockey camp that week, if I were able to chg the dates I would then have to chg airfare and deal with those penalties on 2 trips. GOod news is P said I could look into it but I just have a feeling its going to be lots of $$$$$
