Donald's Safari Breakfast ADRs

Wooo-Hooo!!! We got November 28th at 9:40am soooooo excited!!!

I remember reading on the boards (before I knew that we would be eating at Tusker House, so didn't pay much attention), that there was a problem with cars getting into the parking lots at AK for the early (pre-park opening) ADRs. Is this still an issue? We have an 8am ADR on a day that the park opens at 9. We are staying at the GF, and everything I've read says that the bus service between the GF and AK is awful. But, if we can't get into the parking lot in our car, it would only make sense to take the bus.

Anyone have a recent experience with this issue? Thanks!

I read these posts and immediately called for my ADR! We have an 8:05 breakfast with the Duck and friends on 2/17/08!!

I didn't even notice the holiday pricing! If you're on the DDP I wonder what that will mean? Our ressie is for 1/2 - in the holiday dates.

If you are on the dining plan, it will not affect you one way or the other.

Wow, I just skimmed this thread and it seems like a lot of DISers have made ADRs there, including me. Mine are 12/1 @ 10:05. I expect to see lots of LGMH there.

I got my ressie for the 12th of January 2008 at 8:05am. The park doesnt open till 9am so i am looking forward to some nice photos of Tree of Life beforehand.

This is our last day in WDW! I am so excited, i just love safari donald. I assume he will be in safari??

I can't wait to hear about everyone's experiences there!!!

not so! you are Not allowed past the RST until 9am..the opening..we were JUSt there and no only had a TERRIBLE meal( Yuck for selection) but it is soo dark and a LONG walk into the park to get to it..and once you are done, you must stay at the rst until the 9am opening time..you cannot wander the park if its not open...we wont go again

I think *love*2*shop is talking about the old AK character meal, while downunder is referring to the new one (formerly Tusker House) that begins mid-November. But, this brings up a good point. I understood that the location of the 'old' character breakfast was in Dinoland, and I think the new one is in Africa. Is this correct? If so, wouldn't you have to walk by the Tree of Life in order to get from the front gate to Africa? (And, for that matter, don't you have to go through the hub to get to Dinoland?).

Ok, I have never had any trouble getting a reservation when it was Donald's breakfastasaurus. Our AK day is Dec. 13th, and I couldn't get anything for breakfast that morning at the Tusker House!!

They have a back route to Dinoland that doesn't follow the main path.

To get to Africa I'm guessing you will pass the Tree of Life. There wouldn't be any easy way around it, no shortcut or anything. We can probably only speculate though until someone reports back. I'm also guessing that early diners will be held in Africa until 9:00. Pretty darn convenient if you're riding the Safari first thing, and not bad even if you're heading to Everest at rope drop since you can go the back way through Asia.

Did you ask for Tusker House or Donald's Safari Breakfast? I'd ask about both if you haven't already. I don't know how it's listed in their computer system and some CMs don't know to check alternate names.
