We also had 8:10 PS a few weeks ago. I thought this was great since we would be done and over to the safari before the park opened at 9:00(our waiter said the safari opens at 8:45). We got there early and by the time we got into the park, checked in, got called to a group, and led to the restaurant it was at least 8:20. Our waiter was shouting directions at us most of the time we were walking, but that was ok since it was info we needed. Once we were seated he conitumed shouting orders(in an army general tone of voice, think of General Knowledge in Cranium Command). He told us we could either wait for a character or get our food and if a character was ready for us he would let us know. Since there was no line at the buffet we went up to get our food. Some of us had 1 or 2 things on our plates, some had none when we heard our name being yelled and "DONALD IS AT YOUR TABLE, GO BACK TO YOUR TABLE". We tried, but by this time other character were out taking pictures so getting back to our table in a rush was tough. Again we were yelled at over and over to get back. Without plowing down Mickey this was impossible, and our waiter could see we were trying. Then we sat for about another 10 minutes while the characters came since we were afraid to leave again. So by the time we got any food it was about 8:35-8:40. We felt very stressed here like we were kids being yelled at. And of course since it took much longer than we had planned we were even more stresed.
On the good side we enjoyed the food very much(Krispy Kremes...yum!).
I will say that we will probably stick to Chef Mickeys from now on. I like the set up there much more where you can get your food when you want and dont have to make an appointment with the characters. We have much more fun there and its relaxing. This meal was anything but. Maybe a different server would have made a different experience, but ours was tough. I hope you have a better experience.
