Ok all, give me the goods on this one...

My DH and I have made a ps for 8:10AM on Tuesday, 11/5. I've never eaten here so I'm not sure what to expect. Anyone?

Thanks!
Erin :D

We ate here...pleasant, casual setting. Upbeat service and character interation (Donald, Goofy, Pluto (and Mickey?) I think...). The food doesn't stand out as good or bad so it must have been satisfactory....lol...actually, I think I liked it better than my DH.

It was uncrowded when we ate there (late seating - close to 10:30 in May). My favorite part was the group photo they take outside of your party before you eat. Best photo we got (better than Chef Mickey's because of the natural lighting).

Enjoy!

We ate there in 2000 and loved it. The waitstaff was great and entertained the kids almost as much as the characters. The characters were excellent and spent a good amount of time at our table. The food is a buffet and has the traditional breakfast fare. We enjoyed the food very much.

We also had 8:10 PS a few weeks ago. I thought this was great since we would be done and over to the safari before the park opened at 9:00(our waiter said the safari opens at 8:45). We got there early and by the time we got into the park, checked in, got called to a group, and led to the restaurant it was at least 8:20. Our waiter was shouting directions at us most of the time we were walking, but that was ok since it was info we needed. Once we were seated he conitumed shouting orders(in an army general tone of voice, think of General Knowledge in Cranium Command). He told us we could either wait for a character or get our food and if a character was ready for us he would let us know. Since there was no line at the buffet we went up to get our food. Some of us had 1 or 2 things on our plates, some had none when we heard our name being yelled and "DONALD IS AT YOUR TABLE, GO BACK TO YOUR TABLE". We tried, but by this time other character were out taking pictures so getting back to our table in a rush was tough. Again we were yelled at over and over to get back. Without plowing down Mickey this was impossible, and our waiter could see we were trying. Then we sat for about another 10 minutes while the characters came since we were afraid to leave again. So by the time we got any food it was about 8:35-8:40. We felt very stressed here like we were kids being yelled at. And of course since it took much longer than we had planned we were even more stresed.
On the good side we enjoyed the food very much(Krispy Kremes...yum!).
I will say that we will probably stick to Chef Mickeys from now on. I like the set up there much more where you can get your food when you want and dont have to make an appointment with the characters. We have much more fun there and its relaxing. This meal was anything but. Maybe a different server would have made a different experience, but ours was tough. I hope you have a better experience.

I'm actually not as concerned about the food as I am being able to do the safari early enough to have "active" animals. We'll have to see how that goes!!! Thanks for the replies everyone!

I've done this twice in the past 30 days. The first experience was a 8:10 PS and the second was last weekend at a 9:10 PS.

It's a nice breakfast. I think the earlier the better. The food was hot and plentiful. If you don't see something you want, they will make and omlette for you, just ask. The orange juice wasn't fresh and the cranberry juice was way watered down.

Things seemed far more organized at our 8:10 seating, as compared to our 9:10 seating. That may have something to do with the fact that our 9:10 seating CM was doing her impression of GRUMPY!

Over all, I like the breakfast and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

we hadn't planned on doing any other character meal aside from chef mickey's. but the day we chose to go the animal kingdom (friday, 9-13) we misread the park opening time and got there an hour too early! they had opened up the line for the breakfastosaurus and we were hungry, so we decided to join the line to see if they would be able to seat us without a PS. no problems...our server was a hoot. his name was neil. he kept calling me princess (i was wearing my bride hat!) the whole time. we weren't allowed to get up and get to the food though until all of the characters had come around. that was good though, cuz then you didn't miss any of them as they made their rounds! they all made a big fuss over my husband and i (since we were wearing the hats!) and signed our autograph book (yes..we're 29 and 30 years old and we got autographs) and posed for pictures. they wanted us to have pictures together so the characters would go and round up someone to take our pictures. the wait staff was entertaining...pretending to sneeze on people or spill something on them. we had a blast! the food was really good too! we were right next to the buffet, so we knew when things were put out fresh! we really enjoyed this breakfast and will be going back on our next trip!!

I always wait around til they take some hot off the griddle!

I "ditto" everything SnoWhiteRabbit posted. We enjoyed it and it really WAS the best group photo of our trip.

We have had breakfast there twice (both PS were very early, before park officially opening) and both were very enjoyable times......the only thing I find sad is :

WE NEVER GOT A PHOTO THERE!!!!!

I never saw anyone taking pics.......well since we always say we would like to go back there, I definitley will....even if it's is just to get the pic!!!

Those chocolate chip pancakes sound excellent. Ummm.

Can someone post which characters they met here?

I would recommend the first priority seating and getting to the gate early. Wonderful trip through the park with our server, while the park is empty, to get to the restaurant. If your server is as good as ours was they will inform you as to when to go to the buffet and when the characters were coming to the table. My children, DS 3 and DD 8, were thrilled with this breakfast, and I thought the character interaction was very well planned. Plus we all rode the dinosaur ride (3 times) when we exited the restaurant, without any lines....highly recommmended.
