Does anyone know how much of the Dolphin has been renovated? Also are the renovated rooms just lilke the swans. Do you think it will be dissapointing if we get a room that has not yet been renovated?
Thanks for your help

The renovation is still underway - I believe completion is slated for the spring. The rooms have bedding similar to the Swan's just a different name - Sheraton Sweet Sleeper. The Swan --> Westin Heavenly Beds.

I have stayed in the "old" rooms and the new room. The new bedding is "heavenly"! With that said, if I didn't get a renovated room I wouldn't be too disappointed -- I am just always so happy to be in WDW!

Good Luck and have a great stay. :sunny:

We just returned yesterday from Disney.

We requested a newer room and had no problem getting one - and the hotel was sold out for a convention.

Unfortunately, our roon in the east wing overlooked the trash dumpters. I don't mind the view, but the noise in the middle of the night was too much.

We were moved to the west wing - much better. It was quieter and closer to the pool, and we still had the heavenly bed.

The best part is we got the nurses discount and paid only $129 base rate.

It's a great deal if you're a nurse or teacher!

Have fun!

We stayed in a renovated room on the 5th floor East wing in November. Our room had a balcony and a view of Epcot. We had the $129 government rate. I used Starwood points five days before our trip to upgrade to a resort view. At check in I asked for a renovated room. They mistakenly assigned us to a room on the 8th floor which had not been renovated. Our bellhop called the front desk from the 8th floor room and we were moved to the renovated room.

About 1000 of the 1,509 rooms at the Dolphin have been renovated, because they had to stop renovations during convention season. Both the DOlphin and Swan have exactly the same renovations right down to the Heavenly Beds :)

I have stayed in both rooms, and though the new ones are fresher and have new furniture, I was never disappointed in the old rooms :) Hope that helps

Just got off the phone w/the Dolphin and was told that all floors from the 9th and below have been renovated. Request a room below the 9th and you should be ok!
