Dole Whips look good...

My DH had a citrus swirl a couple of weeks ago, and it was frozen oj (think sobet consistancy) swirled with vanilla soft serve ice cream. He really liked it. I had the frozen oj slushy thing, and it was really good also.

Thanks! I will look forward to trying these on our next trip. :cool1:

Here is a pic of what they look like, my DH and I got one on our last trip. They will be a must have now along with an ice cream sandwhich at the ice cream shop on main street, but that is a whole new thread :)

The one on the left is rootbeer and pineapple ice cream and the one on the right is the original.

I prefer the Dole Whip Float with the vanilla soft serve. My kids prefer the pineapple (dole whip) soft serve with the pineapple juice...

YUM!!!!!

:woohoo:

For anyone on WW-I found some recipes for these and they're actually made with heavy whipping cream. Only one recipe listed nutritional information as being 254 cal, 17 g fat, and 0 fiber. Computes at 7 pts. I didn't run it through Recipe Builder.

Needed to add to the Dole Whip greatness. I read in some travel guide that there are only 2 or 3 Dole Whip franchises in the country. Meaning you can only get a Dole Whip at Disney and Hawaii. (I may be remembering this wrong). But they are indeed the greatest snack on the planet.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dole Whips. I get one each trip. But, I feel like it's just too much to finish. I don't know if the portions have gotten bigger or if I just don't eat as much as I used to, but as hard as I try, I can't finish it.

I'm assuming this is just me? :confused3

I have had dole whip, citrus swirl, and strawberry swirl.
LOVE the dole whip (especially with pineapple juice in a float)
like the citrus swirl...a lot like a dreamsicle

my least fave is the strawberry swirl...it tastes like a strawberry cream saver to me and it does taste good but nowhere near the dole whip imo

The real Dole Whip is a non-dairy product & has 80 calories and .5 grams of fat per 1/2 cup serving. (35mg sodium, 15g carbohydrate, 13g sugar)

I've tried just about every recipe and have attempted a few of my own & nothing even comes close. Now, I order the Dole Whip mix (yes, it's the actual mix that WDW uses) and aside from perfecting the texture, it's exactly the same as Aloha Isle.....

The place that I ordered it from also has Mango, Raspberry, Lemon, Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla & Pineapple..... :rainbow:

This is the one at WDW? If so, I'm really glad to hear this because they look so good!

Yes, the nutritional info is for the Dole Whip at WDW as well.....

I was surprised that nutritionally, they're not bad at all! :thumbsup2

ahhh i will be having me one on thursday of this week!!!

That's great! I thought I'd like to try one but figured if they were 7 pts. they might not be worth it. At 2 pts. they look like a bargain.

I went to Hawaii back in 1988 and went to a Dole touristy type place. I think I remember them growing pineapples there, because it was further out from Honolulu. They had Dole Whips there. Thanks for bringing up this memory! :sunny:

I don't like pineapple, but DH does. I had read about Dole Whips before our last trip and took him over there to surprise him. He LOOOVVVES Dole Whips now. We leave Monday and he keeps talking about getting one!

Everytime we've been there they have been closed for one reason or another. :( Hopefully next time. (I'm drooling now) : :stitch:

My son is allergic to milk and milk-by-products.....so, I would need to know for sure that the Dole Whip is non-dairy.....think the vendor would know?

The definition of a "Dole Whip" :
the single greatest edible creation in Disney history. Pineapple soft-serve sorbet, complimented extremely well by fresh-squeezed pineapple in a "Dole Whip float." A delightful treat no matter your age. Must have addictive ingredients because once you have one, you CAN"T WAIT to enjoy another. Pictures of Dole Whips serve as great screen savers on cell phones. :rolleyes1

Any questions? :mickeyjum
(LOOK! Even Mickey can't wait to have one!!!)
