Doing two parks in 1 day

My husband and I are planning an adult only weekend trip in February. We are going to do one day at disney and one day at universal studios. We have been to Disney with our daughter and only done MK and AK. We will have a car and are considering a park hopper pass to go to MK and HS in one day. We are interested in doing some of the bigger rides that our daughter is too small for at MK and exploring HS to see what we would enjoy for our next family trip. We will stay on property and there is extra magical hours at HS in the morning the day we are planning to go - Super bowl Sunday. I'm hoping that will make it less crowded. Does the two parks in one day make sense or will we be rushed and waste time? What should we do first? Would I do fast passes at the second park only?

Super Bowl has little to no impact, plus or minus on the parks.

You will be rushed but no necessarily a waste of time. Second park fastpasses I would think.

HS being am EMH should definitely be your first park. Be in line about 7:25 or so and head straight to TSM, then on to RnR and Tower of Terror. After that, your schedule will really open up. Since you don't have any plans for Fantasmic! (and won't be using the Fantasmic Dining Package), I would suggest staying at HS until about noon or so, then bouncing to get lunch.

What I would do is consider walking or taking a boat over to Epcot after HS and have lunch in the World Showcase, then take the monorail to Magic Kingdom where your three FP+ ressies would be waiting for you.

So, if you left HS at noon and had a 12:30 reservation, your first FP+ window could start as early as 1:45 or so. I would try to pack in three FP+ as early as possible and put two of them close together. Meaning, Splash 1:45-2:45 and Thunder 2:45-3:45 and hit them about 2:40 pm.

Agree with the above ^^. Are you gong during a time when kids have feb break from school? That makes a difference. Also, what time you have FPs for either TSM or Seven Dwarfs, since those are the two mad dashes in each park makes a difference in your schedule.

I totally agree with this! Except I would get to Epcot even earlier to enjoy World Showcase. I can't imagine an adults-only trip without Epcot, but that may just be me. Definitely make your FPs for MK.

The only potential problem I see with the idea of taking the friendship boat from HS to Epcot and spending some time in the World Showcase before heading to MK is the amount of time it will take to walk around from WS to the monorail. That could be a real time suck. How late is MK open that day?

2 parks in 1 day is great and not hard or too much at all, especially if adults only! I would agree with pp I would really consider doing HS and Epcot. That's my personal preference though, but there's so much for adults in Epcot and it's location being closer to HS you'll be able to get more done in 1 day...and the food (and drinks) are the best at Epcot! Whatever you do def choose fast passes for 2nd park.

Wow. Thank you for all your suggestions. We hadn't talked about adding Epcot too. MK is open pretty late that night and I beleive its before school breaks. The crowd calendar said a 5.

How about this: Rope Drop at HS...ride TSM, RnR, and Tower of Terror. Walk over to Epcot. Enter through the International Gateway. Eat lunch at one of the QS on that side of WS...(my faves) Morocco or Germany...Get some caramel from Germany...Walk back through the International Gateway and go to the Beach Club. Take a bus from there to MK. Make use of your fast passes here. Now decided...stay at MK...go back to Epcot...go back to HS...

Yeah, with an 8 am opening and knocking out three of the big attractions before 9 am and not having to stand in meet and greet lines 11 am should be plenty long enough

It's actually a little longer walk from Germany to the bus stop at Beach Club than it is to the monorail out in front of Epcot

I'd do the HS > Epcot:WS > MK thing, but I'd probably spend more time in Epcot than just grabbing lunch. My time in Epcot would depend on when MK closes that night. If they are open pretty late, I'd stay in Epcot longer, tour the World Showcase, do the boat ride in Mexico, see the American Adventure show, and maybe even do some attractions in Future World that don't have insane waits (Living with the Land is neat, and you can just walk into the aquarium at the Seas without doing the Nemo ride). Then I'd hop on the monorail and head to MK to finish off the evening: 3 FP+s, grab dinner (maybe have an ADR in MK?), CtM/Wishes and MSEP, and stay until closing doing whatever you want.

Sounds like fun!!
