Doing BOTH Typhoon Lagoon AND Blizzard Beach in the same trip?

My husband LOVES Typhoon Lagoon and REALLY wants to go back, however, I'd like to visit Blizzard Beach since he's never been and I haven't been since the 90's. We do have the days in our trip to allow for two different water park days, but is that silly? Has anyone done two water parks in the same trip and have you thought they were different enough to make it worth doing? I'm slightly nervous as we're going end of Aug/beg September and it's known for rain and such, but with FP+ and ADRs I feel like we can't switch around days and have to plan for our water park days in advance regardless of weather. What do you typically do?
It's not silly at all---we spent one "bonus" summer trip doing nothing *but* the water parks (and DisneyQuest).

As for changing things around: we went during Spring Break last year and did at least half of our FP+ reservations the night before. Some of the headliners might be gone, and you might need to get times later in the day for others, but I was surprised by how many things were available. As for ADRs, I've been doing those the night before or even the day of for years now, and the new CC hold policy makes that easier than ever, because lots of people cancel things at the last possible moment to avoid the no-show fee.
