So it’s looking like extended park hours for MK for deluxe guests are going to be both nights we have MK, Wednesday November 16th and Monday November 21

We technically have three nights total at MK because one is a Christmas party night

If we did a dessert party, I’m leaning toward treats and seats, on that last night Monday the 21st would we be able to get any attractions in after the fireworks or because of the extended hours for the deluxe guess what we have to leave immediately following the show?

Would you switch your MK to a Saturday instead of a Monday to get a later park closing (10pm vs 9pm) with no extended hours BUT meaning that your very wanted CRT would then be 60+7 vs 60+9?

On Monday November 21, Extended Evening hours are at Epcot, not at Magic Kingdom.

This is GREAT news!!! Wow!!!

Thank you!

what’s your opinion or experience on whether or not MK can be enjoyed at all AFTER the fireworks? There would be about an hour left?
The last time I was at MK, it closed at fireworks time, so I can't answer from experience. It should, however, be a good time to go on rides. Lots of people will exit the park right after the fireworks.

We went on rides during fireworks, the lines were so short. WE loved it!
That’s great! :)

We want to do a dessert party and are really hoping that after the party we can somehow shuffle back into the park and get some rides in before leaving. It’ll be our last night

But doing rides during the fireworks won’t work for us this last night.

I really wish I knew park hours for the day, 11/21

EDIT: just saw, it’s 9:00am-10:00pm :-)

I guess ideally in a perfect world I’d like to do the dessert party (treats and seats) on our Magic Kingdom day that has extended hours for deluxe guests since we can’t stay late anyway and skip the fireworks on our last Magic Kingdom night (which is also the last night of our trip) taking advantage of shorter lines during fireworks.

But that means we would be trying for treats and seats on 60+4 vs 60+9

😬

Thoughts?

What do you mean by "somehow shuffle back into the park"? The Treats and Seats dessert party is in the park. It's at Tomorrowland Terrace.

Go ride rides vs getting caught up in the sea (wave) of people leaving the park after the fireworks

Is it easy to go against the grain?

If you can't get it on the Wednesday night (60+4), you will have to decide whether you want to do it on the Monday night (60+9), if available.

You may want to stay seated for 5 to 10 minutes after the fireworks stop, but you should be able to make your way through the hub after that. Of course, my experience has been with joining the crowd headed toward the exit, not going the other way. But I usually didn't feel hemmed in until I got to Main Street. There was a little room to move around in the hub.

From the Tomorrowland Terrace you should have an easy time of getting back into Tomorrowland avoiding crowds. Just make sure to exit through the back by the purple wall and not onto Main Street. From there to Fantasyland or whatever your destination is.

Totally agree that you can get into Tomorrowland easily from this dessert party. Now, if you wanted to make BTMRR your last hurrah after fireworks, you'd be fighting the current heavily.

Also, don't forget that Disney has been extending hours such that non-party days stay open until 11. While that's not guaranteed for your date, it would be very surprising to me if they did that extension during low September crowds and then stopped in the busier Oct-Dec timeframe. So, I would at least keep open the possibility that you'll have the park until 11 instead of 10.

We had about an hour and a half after the fireworks on our last visit in May.

During that time, we rode Pooh, Big Thunder, Splash Mtn, the Carousel, 7 Dwarves and also met the Princesses (Cinderella and Snow White).

Pooh was the only one where we had G+. We could have done 7D one more time but opted for a little shopping instead.

Just don’t be discouraged by the intentionally inflated wait times late at night and you’ll be fine.

I should also add that it’s a long walk from Pooh to Splash/Big Thunder then back to 7D but that order worked best for us. Most guests were leaving at that time anyway.

While MOST of the attractions have shorter waits (especially child-friendly rides) after the fireworks, sometimes it's not like that. One evening last June, I rushed to BTMRR after the fireworks ended and got in line with a posted 35 (or so) minute wait. The LL flooded with G+ riders and the SB line was practically still as the LL was prioritized. I waited a loooong time for that ride. Probably could have ridden 2, 3, 4 other rides in the same period. If G+ had ended earlier or the attraction was more child-friendly (families with young kids usually leave immediately after fireworks), it would have worked better.

There really are so many factors with ride wait times and no two nights are exactly the same. A few tips I use when selecting rides after the fireworks are:

* Avoid a that ride had downtime during the day the waits will be longer once it has re-opened since there will be more Genie+ redemptions used in shorter periods of time. So if it was pouring with thunder and lightening all the outdoor rides were most likely closed so there is probably a backup.
* The waits in the evening will usually tend to get shorter the later it get as people might be doing one last ride after fireworks and then leaving so doing some mid-tier rides then going to a headliner might be a strategy that works better for you. If you are hopping in a headliner ride 15 mins before park closes and the line doe end up being an hour at least you didn't miss any park time. YMMV of course based on your party and if they'd actually want to be at the park that late.

It isn't perfect though and sometimes you get caught in a line your didn't expect. Particularly in those indoor lines you can't see!
