Doin it in Style @ The Poly! September 2010 Here we Come!!!

Thanks for sharing those, the park looks awesome!! I really really hope we can go, it's just difficult as we are spending an absolute fortune this year going to the Poly. Plus the GF next eyar and the cruise and the wedding. So much to save for lol but fingers crossed we can manage it:goodvibes

I sooooooo want to go on that Stitch attraction and I also heard about Crush being brilliant. Also, we have never actually been on the TOT in WDW either!! Though I plan to change that this year lol.

Like the two of you, Tom and I are "struggling" with the idea of going back to DLRP this year.
Our APs have expired and we are always stuck with going during high season - :sad2: because of my school vacations.

I was just pleased to see that it looks like you HAVE already decided on taking a cruise next summer - good for you! We took our first one last summer on the Wonder and are booked for a back to back this summer! :lmao: Can I say we LOOOOOOOOVED it? ;)

But if you can squeeze in DLRP there is lots of new things to see and do! The Studios have really changed! And Crush is one of the most fun rides we have ever done!
ToT is an identical twin of the one they have in Disneyland! WDW's is different to it and we LOVE it - you HAVE TO do it! There is no other ride like it! ;)

Well it would be really cool to go. I was just looking up costs now and the 2night/3day package (no dining) at the Disneyland Hotel is £672 or £974 including eurostar tickets. Still quite alot isnt it. Maybe I should look up a different hotel, how is the Sequoia Lodge?

Wohoo! That's quite a bit of money for a two nighter!!! We usually stay offsite and rent a car - since we are always AP holders (discounts on hotels, 20% off ANY shopping and 10% off ANY food) we are allowed to park at a hotel of our choice (hotel parking IS an AP perk in DLRP), mostly the NY hotel and just walk from there.
As much as I love Sequioa Lodge it is still VERY pricey. Having a car allows us to stay at the Citea, which rents out small houses with ALL the necessary amenities (fridge, stove, free internet, etc) for a fraction of what we would have to pay at Disney. There is a french bakery just round the corner and their baked goods are out of this world. So is their baguette! LOL!
I just checked the Citea for you - 2 nights in mid November are 102 Euros!! So about 90 Pounds!

Well believe it or not, neither of us can drive! Im too lazy to learn hehe. The newport is £515 for 3 nights not including the eurostar. I would happily go for 3 nights/4days at a lower rated hotel than the DLH but I think Stefy would rather stay there. I just want to go so I wouldnt care where I stayed really but I think it would have to be on property. Thanks for checking the costs though:thumbsup2

Um....... yes ......... no driving definitely rules out something offsite! :lmao: But it kind of makes sense NOT to drive in London!

The Newport Bay is wonderful if you can swing in and since you have been to the Disneyland Hotel, why not try something else?
Have you ever considered buying an AP? If you go to the parks for 4 days it might pay off considering you could get an AP discount on the hotel, food and souvenirs.
Do Disneystores in the UK still sell DLRP APs - look into it before you book anything! We LOVE our APs and it is such a sweet incentive to go back within the year! ;)

Hi Karin, thanks for posting those lovely pics. It sure does look like alot has changed.

We are not ruling out going, still gotta sort out our budgets for the wedding etc. I really do want to stay in the DLH again as it is so beautiful and I love the fact that you can just walk straight into the park. Do you still get the added perk of entering before other guests?

We stayed offsite when we went to DLP and we didn't have a car. We stayed at a hotel in Val D'Europe which was right across from the train station. Then it was only 1 stop on the train to DLRP. I looked into staying on site, but this was way cheaper and quite convenient. And come to think of it we actually took a shuttle offered by the hotel to get to/from the park. Anyway it was no problem with out a car. Though I can definitely see the allure to the Disneyland Hotel. It sits right on Main Street! No better location than that!

Stefy & Soopafly...................

We gotta get you two to :drive::drive: Actually, I hardly ever drive. In fact, rarely. I hate it. I wish I lived somewhere where it wasn't required. I think you guys are lucky!!!!!

We do need to learn to drive, I did have lessons a while ago, but got too preoccupied with other things. Maybe once we settled all our other bits out I will start up again :)

enjoyed more disneyland paris pictures...seriously has me wanting to take a trip now...you'd think it'd be a bit cheaper than florida, being on the same continent and all!!!

went to stitch kingdom to look up the photopass after you mentioned it, the definitive guide is pretty intense :scared1: but still think will preorder! so thanks for the heads up about the special offer!

I wish we didn't need to drive here. You're so lucky! :flower3:

Sometimes its lucky, other times it not, our transport system isn't always that good.

I know right, we are still thinking about going this year, but its ridiculous the amount of money they want for 2 nights I tell you.

Go for the preorder, its so much fun doing the PP :goodvibes

I am so annoyed, I ordered the Passporters Guide for the Cruise Line from Amazon UK and the day it said it was going to be dispatched I get an email from them saying they couldn't find a copy of the book and have cancelled my order. Am not best pleased I tell you.

Am now thinking about buying Birnbaums 2010 guide for the CL, what do you guys think? I know alot of other Disers recommended the Passporter guide, but everywhere else in the UK seems to not have any in stock :(

Hey ladies, wonder if you can help me.

I have decided to purchase some Haviana Flip Flops beforehand for our upcoming trip. But what I would like to know can I find Havianas in Orlando.

TIA :)

stefy, you probably know this but just in case... house of fraser stock them! i'm hopefully gonna get a pair in next few weeks, been thinking between those, reef's (both as recommended on the dis) and fit flops

I did see some on their website, but they were mens.

Might go and check it out next time I am down Oxford St, thanx :)

I have a pair of Fitflops, only worn them once, they are supposed to be really good though. But my friend has about 50 billion pairs of Havianas and she said that they are so comfy, so I thought why not get a pair for our trip :)

I've been too busy to Dis lately :sad1:, but just got caught back up! Yes, you will definitely be able to find Havianas in Orlando - there are probably even stores in the airport that carry them. The Gap in the US sells them, so it might be worth checking there to see if you can get them at home. But definitely tons of stores in the US have them, so you won't have a problem finding them here. :thumbsup2

And loved all those DLP pictures - looks like you guys had a great trip there! :goodvibes

I bought both Passporter and Birnbaums for DCL and the passporter was WAY better! Will they not ship to the UK from the passporter website? It looks like they are taking pre-orders right now from what I see on the site.

If you really want it, I wouldn't mind ordering it and shipping it to you, if they won't ship it to you....just let me know.

Stefy, you can order from the Amazon.com site as well - it might take a little longer but if they have it - order it there.
Birnbaum's is "a waste of money" in my opinion and I was a dedicated follower of Birnbaum's once - before I found the DIS!!! :lmao:
There is lots of info on the Cruise boards here - let me know what you are looking for and I'll pm you the link!
