Three Things...Gratitude Thread

The weather - although it’s a 50-50 shot sometimes it’s right sometimes they’re wrong but at least you’re in the ballpark

I would say my workload but lately again it’s like that saying all good plans…. you might as well throw them out the window🤣🤣🤣🤣

Procedures at the doctor - sometimes when you have to get a certain new procedure done it’s nice to know what they’re going to do and what’s going to happen so that way you’re not surprised or if something comes up you know what’s going to be done nobody likes surprises when you’re at the doctor or when they’re doing something to you / trust me I’ve had a surprise her too and I’m telling you the anxiety and stress it caused me for them to say oh no this is just routine OK it’s routine to you all but to me they didn’t know this it caused me an extreme amount of anxiety and you need to tell people before you do it that this is just routine

Afternoon all,

1. Weather - second this. While it's certainly never 100% accurate, having a vague idea what the weather might be like each day is super useful.

2. Meetings - I hate it when people put last minute meetings in my diary at work that I have no idea what they're about and have no time to prepare. So I'm always grateful for the ones I do know about in advance!

3. Trip planning - whether it's a small day trip to a full on holiday, knowing and planning as much as you can for a trip is super helpful for me, especially as a mostly solo traveller. The thought of not knowing what I'm doing and just winging it fills me with dread!

Know in advance:
Medical/dental procedures: I need to know the detail of both the procedure and the outcome, even if the information is challenging, to prepare myself.

School cancellations: DH, DD, SIL, and I all work full-time. It would be nice to know of school closings and late starts the evening prior, rather than at 6am, day-of. I understand they don't want to close if they don't have to, but it is SO challenging to make last-minute childcare arrangements.

Travel changes: I love that I can look online and see if there are construction delays, traffic issues, lousy weather, etc. on any of the routes I might be driving when we travel. Helps with my planning and timeline.

Disney ADRs for the Girls' First Trip - Up until taking the girls, we pretty much just winged it when going to WDW. They were 4 and 2 at the time of their first visit, so you can imagine what it was like for them. They had gotten so into Disney stuff, especially DD19 and princesses, that it prompted me to do a ton of research. Without that research, I never would have known about all of the restaurant options and the advance booking rules and parameters. More of a true reservation vs. an ADR, but BBB also fits into this "glad to know ahead of time."

Weather - It's certainly not perfect, but history would tell us that some warning is better than nothing. This is especially true when it comes to tornado warnings, where that bit of advance warning could be the difference between life and death. Hurricanes and major winter storms are also big ones, as it's nice to know so we can prepare (or evacuate) accordingly.

Construction Notices - It's always helpful to know ahead of time if your regular routes will be gummed up by road work. Of course, some of these projects can take years, but it's still best to know so you can ready yourself and potentially come up with different travel routes for the foreseeable future.

2. Weather reports when they’re accurate.
Yep.... they missed it here drastically...2 hours turned into 14 hours....my cabin is not as insulated as I thought...so had to go into the double wide, turn on the TV and gave comfort to the dogs.... I had my first nap since October.... grateful there is boring TV at 3:00 in the morning
