Doin it in Style @ The Poly! September 2010 Here we Come!!!

I think we do, haven't really checked out Nick Jr. I like Boomerang for Scooby Doo :cutie:

We're going in September and your PTR is giving me all kinds of ideas!! DBF is 25 as well and I'm 23 so it's nice to find more experienced DISers around our age! (I went a whole bunch of times as a kid but this is my first time planning everything myself!)

Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

Its always fun and exciting planning a Disney holiday isn't it :cutie:

Evening Everyone, hope we are all good.

So we finally saw The Princess & the Frog today and we love love loved it :lovestruc

We loved the songs, drawings and characters.

Nikki, I have fallen in love with Evangeline too. I think my fav scene was when we are first introduced to Ray and the other fireflies, thought that scene was really cool. Think my fav song is Dig a Lil Deeper, Mamma Odie is so funny and bless JuJu, that snake takes alot

DF's fav scene was when Tiana and Naveen first meet. He loves Naveen's accent and the stuff he comes out with

Watching has not helped my obsession with wanting to visit New Orleans for Mardi Gras either

Disney did good on this one :thumbsup2

We still have not seen the movie. I can't wait though. It sounds like such a cute movie.

I have been to New Orleans and done Mardi Gras. Woo hoo...that's a lot of fun!

That is really awesome. I love the look of the pool at Beachclub. Stormalong bay i think its called. Stefy is wanting to stay at GF for a honeymoon perhaps.

Yes, so looking forward to that pool! The GF would be perfect for a honeymoon! :goodvibes

I loved the Princess & the Frog too! I had just gone to New Orleans for a work conference the week before the movie came out, so it was really cool to have seen some of the architecture and landmarks that inspired the movie!

Your ADRs have shaped up nicely, you've got some great choices in there!

I still haven't seen Princess and the Frog, but glad to hear such good reviews.. I will get to see it eventually!

How cool you have been for Mardi Gras. I reeeeeaaaaallllly really want to go and hopefully we will one day as we are an adventurous pair and I just love to travel :cloud9:

Now you must go see the movie, its awesome and so funny, it had me and DF laughing away. Go. See. Now

I will be honest with you, when we first went to Disney I did not like the GF, but when I was looking into DFTW I started to fall in love with the place and am now trying to convince DF if we can try and do a split stay for our honeymoon there and possibly AKL.

Another New Orleans visitor, v cool :) What was your fav part and song in the movie?

Thank you, hopefully they are keepers, but being 7 months out who knows

You must go and see it, its sooooo good :cutie:

I will update later tonight as we had a fiasco on Monday morning. The electric decided to blow for half the street at 5am and it didn't come on until the early hours of this morning (Tues). Thank god it did though, how awful is it to wash in ice cold water.

Oops better get off to work.

TTFN :tigger:

I feel like this thread has gone a bit stagnant

I want to post about our days etc, but just feel that it is too early because it could totally change because of the park hours :confused3

Although, me and DF did have a mini discussion the other day about MNSSHP and if it is worth doing twice.

I figure that, for the first party we could focus solely on the special Halloween Events, such as the Trick or Treat Trails, Dances, Special Characters such as Snow White and the Dwarves and the Villains.

The second party could be for doing the rides in the dark and also any other special parts that we couldn't knock out in the first party.

What are your guys opinions?

Also, we have decided to forgo the Haunted Hayride, as if we do the party twice, we shouldn't really do this as well.

Hi! All caught up and really enjoying your PTR so far popcorn::

Great ADR choices... we tried Sanaa last July and it was amazing, if you and DF like Indian food then you'll love it!!

You've found some great Disney tshirts too! I am always on the look out in shops like New Look & River Island for Disney printed things... I got some pink Daisy Duck pyjamas from RI last year and they are so pretty! lol. :cutie:

I've not been to MNSSHP but from what I've heard.. if you can go twice (budget and time allowing!) maybe you should... my sister and I did MVMCP last December and I was amazed how quickly the time flew by... we missed a couple of the shows & only did two rides! :santa: It was great fun though! I'd love to do the Halloween one too.

Also... about the water parks... Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach both have a 'lazy river' and family raft ride (which when there's just two of you in it, really flies down the flume!!)... TL has the new Crush n Gushers which shoot you UP as well as down (like a roller coaster!), and BB has the racing slides... like a toboggan race :thumbsup2
hope that helps! we love the Disney water parks... if you go to BB then I recommend the wintersummerland mini golf next to it too! :goodvibes

:welcome: thanx for joining in.

Thanx for all the comments. If you are interested in Disney T Shirts I can give you the name of the websites I get them from. Can't wait to get my next one for March. Your Daisy Duck PJ's sound cute :cutie:

If you go during Halloween you must must must do MNSSHP, we have only done it once, but loved it. We did MVMCP in 2008, but I prefer the HP more than the CP.

It sounds like TL is the one that we want to try, with Crush n Gushers and the others mentioned. But which park overall is the best do you think?

I would do MNSSHP twice if you can (time and money-wise). Actually, I might buy tickets in advance to the earliest one you'd like to go to; then if you haven't accomplished everything you wanted to, get tickets for another party. You're going early enough in the season that the parties shouldn't be sold out, right? I think they generally only sell out right around Halloween (or maybe just Halloween night). I have a feeling you will want to attend twice, but just in case it's raining on the night you'd intended to go (or you'd just prefer to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach), you'd have some wiggle room.

Where are you planning to eat dinner before/ during your MNSSHP(s)?

I think we are going to try and do Kona cafe as it is in the resort. That way we can just hop on the monorail to the MK. aaah so much simpler. Though I am going to miss getting there as it gets dark and seeing all the cool decorations and lights when you go by bus.

I agree with others that you should do the party twice if you can! I haven't been to MNSSHP, but did the Christmas party a few years ago with my mom. We went to one and loved it so much we went another night of our trip. There is just so much to do and experience, and we loved the atmosphere of the party.
Good luck with your decision!

As far as water parks, personal preference seems to vary a lot between them. I LOVE Typhoon Lagoon for the themeing- the landscaping is beautiful and the music is fun, and it has all these hidden spots with lounge chairs to relax in.
The slides on a whole seem a bit less intense than Blizzard Beach (except Crush N' Gusher- that is crazy fun!) but they are so well themed and still great.

Blizzard Beach has it's own high points, but I didn't care for the themeing- all that white snow reflecting the sun meant I was squinting the whole time. There also seemed to be more hiking to the slides than at TL.

But all that is just my (long winded:rotfl: ) opinion!

That sounds perfect - trying to eat at the restaurants in the MK the night of a party seems to be a nightmare (long lines and waits). I think we'll try for Kona on the night we go to MNSSHP during our trip, too, since I like that a lot better than the GF Cafe.

Well I did both as a kid and I think I preferred Blizzard as it had Summit PLummit which back then scared the heck out of me! I think we will probably do Typhoon though. I just wish the hours were out now so we can start organising our days.

We will most prob attend the early October parties, I am hoping tickets go on sale in May. Am keeping a sharp eye on WDWInfo and also Disneys website for 2010 dates.

Like Dave says we will most prob go to Kona and have just realised we don't have a dinner near MK apart from Narcoosees and CRT  Unless we have a big lunch at one of our lunch restaurants and eat a mini dinner at Captain Cook's. Gosh I am glad you asked that question now :goodvibes

We can see that on another party night that we aren't going, am sure we will be coming back from a park by bus then.

No thank you for that, its really useful to hear what other people think, rather than just saying I like BB and thats that.

Hearing others opinions etc I am thinking/leaning towards TL. I am not a swimmer of such and the fact you said TL is not as intense as BB sounds great to me :thumbsup2

I think we will most prob end up going to the party twice, like you say there is so much to do and see that you can't get it done all in one night.

Kona is always a great choice. I would never try an MK restaurant on the night of the party, like you say too much hassle.

Oooh I never read your reply until I started replying now and we are on the same wave length

I think last year the tickets went on sale on May 1? When we went (mid-September) MNSSHP was held on Tuesday and Friday nights, so you can probably count on it being held those nights plus maybe a few more since you'll be into October. I'm figuring Tuesday and Friday night as party nights in my plans for our Sept. trip as I'm starting to think about ADRs (which I had not been doing at all before looking at yours, so thank you!).

Thanx for that. I am liking the idea of doing a Friday night, as we do not tend to go to the Parks at weekends, so since the party will be a late one, we can have a lay in.

I just looked at your ticker and you have two weeks! Bet you are getting really excited now, not long to go and yes, get on to those ADR's pronto lady :)

Yay for MNSSHP. We are hoping that they will have it on Tuesday the week that we are there. So far it has been Tuesday and Friday during the week that we go in September. Friday is our anniversary though and it makes me wonder if they do have it, can we still do a Wishes Cruise and will it be a Hallowishes cruise???

I loved your idea earlier of going twice...once for the the rides and once for the trick or treat, characters, etc.
