Doin it in Style @ The Poly! September 2010 Here we Come!!!

Yay for MNSSHP. We are hoping that they will have it on Tuesday the week that we are there. So far it has been Tuesday and Friday during the week that we go in September. Friday is our anniversary though and it makes me wonder if they do have it, can we still do a Wishes Cruise and will it be a Hallowishes cruise???

I loved your idea earlier of going twice...once for the the rides and once for the trick or treat, characters, etc.

Oooh v cool if your Wishes Cruise is on a party night, I am sure you will see Hallowishes.

Thanx, I am looking forward to doing it twice now and we can do it at a relaxed pace too (well not too relaxed).

:tigger: Year of the Tigger :tigger:

Hi Guys

How are we all, good weekend?

Me and Dave went down to the West End today to go and join in the Chinese New Year Celebrations. Was fun, but v v crowded so we didn't stay that long, or get that many pics, but here are a few we take :goodvibes

First off had to take this pic, I can't remember which TR I read it on, but I remember them mentioning how much they loved Cinabon and always got one at the airport (or something like that)

This was a pretty cool cat, covered in the Tiger Beer logo.

I love Chinese lanterns, especially spread out like this.

I love the colours of these and there were soooo many.

This was the best shot Dave could get, everytime we came across the Lion Dancers it was soooooo mobbed with people.

I bought these lil guys as I had to get a Tiger souvenir. My Chinese Zodiac is the Tiger and my star sign is Leo. So hopefully this will be a prosperous year for me :cutie:

The next best purchase of the day was the Pandan Cake, this is sooooo good, light and fluffy sponge and yummy butter/vanilla type cream.

Love all the shots of the Chinese Lanterns. They are just so colorful and fun!

Thanx, I am thinking about trying to factor in Chinese Lanterns for the wedding, got a small idea, but need to see if it works with my fairy lights idea too.

I also forgot to add that we watched Up for the first time last night and we loved it. So funny, loved them all and the squirrel part cracked me up everytime

Love your Chinese New Year celebration pics - those lanterns are so cool! :goodvibes I didn't even think to check out Chinatown in NY - maybe next year!

We watched Up for the first time recently, and I loved it. I'm hoping the characters will still be in the animation building in MGM to meet (well, I'm assuming they'll still be there when we're there in less than 2 weeks now , but hopefully they'll still be there in the fall too).

Hi! .. I went to the West End yesterday too! "It's a Small World" :rotfl:
I was meeting some friends in London for lunch, we went to Prezzo near Trafalgar Square then wandered to China Town.. we did see that white dragon you've got photos of! ... it was sooo busy, wasn't it?!

You got some lovely photos :thumbsup2

Thanx, you should defo go see what your neck of the woods does for Chinese New Year. The celebrations are so much fun and there is sooo much colour too.

Yes I heard that they are still there, which is pretty cool. I hope they are there for when you go and when we go too. Will mean more when you get to take pics now that we have seen the film :thumbsup2

Goodness two weeks, not long now. Have you gotten on to picking out your restaurants yet?

How cool, would have been funny if we had seen each other :cutie:

It was heaving I tell you and I am not normally a crowd person but I wanted to persevere and try and enjoy myself, which I did. Did you pick up any souviners?

Mini Update

We got selected to attend a Mad Hatter Tea Party at our local cinema :yay: Its our fav cinema as it has leather sofa type seats, rather than the normal type you get. We get to watch Alice in 3D whilst enjoying finger sandwiches, mini cupcakes and cocktails. We are going on 6th March and can't wait. Will try and update with pics once we have seen it :3dglasses

Wow that looks like so much fun! I love all the colored paper lanterns!!!

It was fun and also walking along the street you could smell all the food, it was enough to make my mouth water. I just wanted to go in to all the restaurants and eat everything  (Chinese is my fav food, could eat it forever!)

Oh, yes! We're all set for ADRs for our March trip - I just need to pick out some for our September trip since our 180-day date will be during our March trip. It's so hard to think about September without park hours. I'm also hoping a resort discount code will come out, which we would likely switch to. Right now we have the standard free dining bounceback, but if a resort discount came out, we'd save more and just pay OOP for our meals - in that case, I'd do more restaurants that are considered 2-credit on the dining plan, which I wouldn't do on the regular plan. I know most people hated it, but I'd love if Disney switched back to the short-lived 90-day ADR window!

In a couple of weeks, we've got ADRs for: Tutto Italia, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, Les Chefs de France, 'Ohana, and Mama Melrose.

Unfortunately we didn't pick up any souvenirs! The little paper dragon puppets looked cute though! :goodvibes

Oops sorry, read that wrong. I hear you on the park hour planning, but give it a few more days and it will be March.

One thing I have noticed on the Disney website (for UK) is that they have only posted EMH up to May. Tried to look on the US site, but they are only showing hours and EMH for this month. Is there a way to find the hours for future months?

They were cute and a bargain at £1 :)

I'm not sure about park hours in general, but EMH basically never change, so we can be pretty sure about those. I don't know why Disney holds out on posting these? Even if they think they'll add more, they could add in these base ones and then add more at more crowded times of year. I've found on every past trip:

Sunday - MK evening EMH
Monday - AK morning EMH, MGM evening EMH
Tuesday - Epcot morning EMH
Wednesday - AK evening EMH
Thursday - MK morning EMH
Friday - Epcot evening EMH
Saturday - MGM morning EMH

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Where did you find out about free dining for September 2010? I'm planning our third trip there for September 23rd to October 2nd but have been waiting for them to release the dates/confirmation for free dining. Any insight would be most appreciated.....from a fellow *************!

Thanx, some of the days look familiar from our past trips, like Monday AM for AK and Wednesday PM too.

It is annoying that they hold out, wonder why.

:welcome: are you from the US? I think free dining over there has only just been released with a code (but don't hold me to that). I am used to just seeing free dining when we go through our booking on the UK website.

Hello all

Mini OT update. Went to see The Lovely Bones last night and my gosh it was a powerful film. Has anyone seen it yet?

Outstanding performances from the whole cast, esp Saoirse Ronan and Stanley Tucci. It really got you going on an emotional and psychological level.

I haven't read the book yet, but I am told that it isn't quite the same, but the majority of it is (if that makes sense).

The cinema we went to was awesome, it just opened up in one of our biggest shopping centres in London. We went for the indulgence tickets which gives you a private bar with concierge and a cloakroom. When you take your seats they are comfy leather ones that recline  A really indulgent experience, which I am defo going to do again :goodvibes

If you haven't seen it yet, I defo recommend you do :goodvibes

OK, that movie theater sounds AMAZING! The thing I dislike about going to the movies is not being able to get comfortable in the seats, so what you're describing sounds perfect! I don't know of any places like that near here, though... London's a bit far to go for a movie:lmao:

I saw the Lovely Bones and really enjoyed it. It's different from the book, but not in a bad way.... i think they did a really good job casting the roles.
Though the book is one of my favorites and I did prefer reading it to watching the movie.

It really is :goodvibes London is a bit far to come I suppose

Our problem with cinemas is like you say, not v comfortable, not enough leg room and there is always that one person behind that kicks your chair, or just talks throughout the whole darn film!

I still need to read the book, but the film is too fresh in my mind right now. Am trying to read Wuthering Heights, is it me or is that a hard book to read?

We are having a long weekend this week (took Monday off) and I am going to get on to doing all the Disney stuff I should have been doing in my little planning book. I finally got around to writing down our restaurants, all done colour coordinated and relevant to which part of WDW its in etc. After I had finished, the next day DF said I think I would like to try Tony's for lunch one day. I was like :scared1: just hope I have left enough room in the sections to add that one in. I know it sounds sad, but when I do stuff like this I like it to be perfect.

I've also printed off some mini maps of the parks and our resort to put in the book. Have also printed off last years park hours, need to go through those and 2008's to compare and see if there are many differences between the two.

I still can't access the September hours on the US site, which is really frustrating me. I got to the part where I can click the calendar icon and scroll through the months, only prob was it stopped at August!

Off to check again to see if I can access it now, wish me luck :)

I posted this on another thread, but try this way:

The whole month view doesn't work, but you can access daily hours by usin this link:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/animal-kingdom/calendardayview/?asmbly_day=20100901

Then, just switch "animal-kingdom" to whatever park you want to see (magic-kingdom, hollywood-studios, epcot) and the last two numbers at the end to the day in September you want to see (ex. 20100910 is Septmber 10th).

Also, you should be able to use the "next" button once you get into any of the daily calendars to move from day to do.

Hope this helps!! :goodvibes

Tell me about the mini park maps? I've not been able to get them small enough to fit on a page in my binder.

:goodvibes
