Ok, I know you're upset, but could you explain a little better for me.

This part I get, your three dogs were in your yard.
Their dog was in their yard pestering your dogs.

I didn't quite get who's dog went into who's yard. Or who bit who?

my dogs were in my fenced in yard.
thier dog was loose and ran over to my yard , running loose up and down my fence deep in my yard far side from thier home thier dog bit his owner whn she was trying to break up the fight she told me this did not witness. i asked first as i didnt want to break up fight my gog had a hold of there dogs butt the hole time . until it let loose and thier dog ran back home hope this helps yes i am very upset

Ok, I don't know the law in your area, but this is what I was told when a dog bit my daughter.
First they have to make sure the dog that bit her did not have rabies. The owners had to keep it for 2 weeks or so and then things were either fine or they weren't. I forget the details it was a long time ago.
Since it was her dog that bit her, then you are in the clear on that.

Since their dog was in your yard, then I am pretty sure you won't be held to blame for that either.
But they may come for medical bills for their dog. I don't know if they would be able to sue you for that or not. You might want to get all of your dogs checked, and get all their shots just because it's neccessary, and that way you will have "proof" that your dogs are without disease.

Well her own dog bit her, so you are in the clear there, right?

Your dog bit another dog and is not vaccinated? They might do a rabies quarantine if she calls the police.

Sorry that sounds awful...I am sure once things settle it will be OK...{{{HUGS}}}

Yes, but they don't have any reason to chose her word over yours. Police are trained in talking to people. I wouldn't worry.

it happend around 7 pm it is 11 pm do think the poilce are coming tonite?/ i am afraid to go to bed ?? i am a very very nervous person

Nah, they probably won't come at all. If they are, then they'll just have to see you in your robe.

I would really try not to worry, like I'd be following my own advice.lol. What I would do is to see if I could figure out a way to make sure there is no way for the dogs to have contact.

From what I read, her yard has no fence at all, and you have some open area and some fenced, is that right?

her yard is also fenced they just had thier dog out running loose in the front yard as only back yards are fenced. thanks for putting up with me i know i am crazy and worry is my worse failing . I am just going pray and be calm God willing..

Someone once told me not to worry until I had an absolute reason to. I have to give credit for that to my ex. Hey, he had to have said something in 22 years that made sense. lol

I really believe you've got nothing to worry about, tonight at least.

If they do say something about the dogs medical bills, I'd ask to see a copy and to speak with the vet, without saying anything about paying for any of it.
If it sounds reasonable, and you can afford it, I might offer to pay part of it as a gesture of good will. It's not your fault, but you have to live with those neighbors.

btw, we all have crazed, worried moments. Believe me, I've posted more than a few myself.

No biggie.

thanks i am goin to gaurd my front door no bed and try to sleep..
youve been here alot when i needed advice thanks friend!!

I don't think the police are going to come over at 11:30 at night to your house to discuss your neighbors' dog biting her. Not exactly an emergency situation .If she does want to file a police report, exactly what would be written up? I mean, it was her own dog that bit her, so with regards to that I'd say don't worry. She was in the wrong anyways having her dog running loose.

As for your dogs' and their shots, I would be hightailing it in to the vet's tomorrow and getting them done now. Irregardless of this incident, it needs to be done immediately. God forbid one of them got loose or someone got into your backyard and got bit. Then you really would be at fault and could be in some trouble.

Night Huckster, try to sleep. :)

Our Sassy Girl once bit another dog. She was put under house arrest for two weeks.

No police came to call, only animal control.

We paid the vet bill because to be honest it was our dog in the wrong. Unfortunately for us, the owner of the other dog didn't take their animal to the vet until the wounds were infected. Ran the bill up a bit.

Try not to worry. I don't think the police will be calling on you. Watch for animal control tomorrow or the next day. They will be involved if the owner of the other dog takes their dog to the vet. The vet is required by law to report bites, etc.

It isn't that bad, really. They just come to the door and ask to see the dog to make sure the animal doesn't appear to have rabies.

so i saw and talked breifly to the neighbor her dog is cut up and has two drains for bites . but she said her dog did not have it shots either. i said again is that all that got hurt she said yes the dog control is coming to your house i said i al ready called them and my vet there was no more mention of her being biten . as she stated last night that her dog bit her.. saw no bandage or anything. she said the vetr told her they would call animal control.. i said well when i tlaked to them they didnt say they were going to take our dog,, she was upset about that and went in house.. any way my vet said bring dog in and get shots anyway

I missed this this morning. Did you get any sleep last night?

So she wanted Animal Control to take your dog away and she was upset that they weren't?
