We have never done this before, but my girls are taking their princess dresses to wear to Cinderella's breakfast. Do any of the rest of you let your children dress up? Is it a pain?

Great question! As I started planning our trip I kept thinking of my DD's all dressed up in their costumes, meeting the princesses. However, the day we told them about it (Christmas Day) I told them about breakfast at Cindy's and how they could wear their costumes and my middle (6 yr) DD said "why would we do that?" Hmm, guess maybe I should get a costume

Lots of girls wear them, it's supercute. BUT-shoes are an issue. Please don't allow your child to wear those horrible jelly things all day, as much as she may beg. I'm sure you already knew that, but I wanted to restate the obvious. It definitely depends on the girl though. I NEVER would have worn one to the parks-I've always went for comfort, and to me comfort=shorts. princess: Have fun whatever you decide.

I definitely wouldn't let them wear the shoes! YUCK! I hate those things. My daughter wore ballet slippers for her Halloween costume. I think for the parks, they will wear their sandals. I put their costumers in zip-loc baggies. They folded down really well. They didn't wrinkle at all. I know, it sounds bad, but they don't look bad. So, I think I can carry them around in my backpack if I need to.

My DD and neice (3 and 5) both wore theirs to Cindy's breakfast in December. It's usually about 1/2 and 1/2, so whatever they want to do is fine. The princesses do notice if you're wearing "her " dress, and make sure to remark on it ;) We left the "dress-up" shoes at home and the girls wore their Mary Janes (church shoes).

On the way in we stashed their changes of clothes in a locker. We usually don't rent one, but didn't want to haul the dresses and shoes around all day, and it was worth the $5 not to have to. PLus when it warmed up later, we had somewhere to stuff the bulky jackets, too.

Now, 5yo neice was happy to change after breakfast, especially since it was rather cold. 3yo DD would have no part of changing, so she walked around with her puffy jacket all zipped up with her Cinderella dress peeking out from underneath, with tights and church shoes. Funny-looking, but cute! She wears her Mary Janes LOTS so those were really comfy for her. And everyone loved that she trouped on through and wore her dress all day! It even warmed up enough to take off the heavy coat and only go with a sweater, which looked a little better :)

Let the girls decide what they want to do...you'll all be happier for it!

How did her dress look at the end of the day? I wouldn't mind them wearing them, but I don't want them to get all torn or stained or anything. Not the easiest to clean.

My youngest princess and her best buddy both went as princesses to the storybook princess breakfast on our EPCOT day last June. THey LOVED it. Our girls stayed in their dresses, but we were ready to change them into shorts/t-shirts and stash the dresses in the lockers.

My 4yr old dd dressed up last year and we have some beautiful pictures of Cinderella and her in matching dresses! After breakfast she changed into her shorts and her dress went in my backpack and in the stroller. No hassle at all and definitly worth it for her to really feel like a princess for an hour!!

Have a great trip! Daisy:sunny:

My DD7 wore her Lilo costume to the Polynesian Spirit of Aloha Luau and she wore her Princess Aurora to the CRT. She got lots of attention from people walking to each restaurant. Afterwards we took off the costumes because she had clothes on underneath and she always wore her tennis shoes.

My daughter wore hers for Halloween. We have been to both CRT and PSB several times and I have waited for her to ask if she could wear hers next time after seeing others wear thiers, but she never has. I really didn't want to suggest it since I knew she would want it off after awhile so I guess I have been lucky.

Looked fine...not dirty at all, but she's always been a rather neat, not messy, little kid. Plus, I only spring for the ones that run about $20 at Target, so no big loss if it was messed up.

IF she has the expensive dress, just change afterwards and put it in a locker. Not much cost and you don't have to carry it around. For our girls it was definately worth it. And we got lots of pictures.

Funny thing about the two little princesses. They didn't want to wear costume dresses. They brought specific dresses out of their wardrobes. They planned this whole thing together for months before we left.

We are doing the Epcot Princess breakfast on the 24th and it is a birthday suprise for dd. We are giving her a Jasmine costume (her all time favorite next to Ariel) and an American Girl doll also dressed up in a Jasmine costume at the hotel. Then we will go to Epcot and surprise her with the breakfast. We are definitely getting a locker just from past Halloween experiences. We are bringing another set of clothes as well as jackets since it is supposed to be chilly in the evening. Besides I don't want to tote the AG all over the park.

Be sure to get the guest of honor nametag for her as well, and tell them it is her birthday and that this breakfast is part of her birthday present when you check in.

She'll get plenty of Attention!

Baloo, !

We went to Cindy's Gala Feast at the GF for dinner, and my daughter wore her Cinderella dress that we had bought for her at the MK earlier in the day. She loved it, and got a lot of attention, especially from the Fairy Godmother, who we met in the waiting area outside the restaurant. We then took the monorail to Epcot for Tapestry of Dreams and Illuminations, and she stayed in her costume. She did have on her Princess tennis shoes, so her feet were comfortable, and it was a warm evening, so she wasn't cold. She looked so cute, she scored a prime viewing spot standing on a bench against the rail with an elderly couple for Illuminations. They had been sitting on the bench, and we were sitting on the ground in front of them waiting, and they were watching her play around. When it got ready to start, they invited her up with them, and we stood right behind. It was so nice! Anyway, it wasn't much of a pain since it was in the evening, and her dress did stay nice and clean.

My then 3 year old daughter wore her dress to the Cinderella breakfast-but she wore regukar clothes to the park, wwe did EMH, when it was time for the breakfast, we went to a restroom and she changed into her dress. Off we went to breakfast, after which she changed back and the dress went back in the baby's diaper bag.
I would never have her wear it all day.

I took my 5 year old daughter last november, on the last day we went to magic kingdom and she wore a cinderella dress with shorts underneath and i had a shirt if she wanted to change, she received so many compliments on the dress. Some CM's called her princess, so she enjoyed the attention.

We did CRT last year when DD was 3. She wore her Belle costume to the park, we had breakfast, she wore it on Dumbo and then off it went.

This year will probably be quite different. She wears dress-up dresses every single moment when we're home. She is getting a new Snow White dress as a suprise for CRT this trip (which is also a suprise- boy I'm just FULL of suprises this trip!) I am 1000% sure that she will not take that stinking dress off all day. But hey, if she's happy, everybody's happy.

Now every throw some pixie dust my way that Snow White will be at CRT on the 30th...

No children in our group, but when we went to CRT, we (6 girls 21-26 y/o) all wore our tiaras. They made the pictures look a lot better than normal and they were easy to throw in the backpack when we went on Space Mountain. I think more adults should go for it when they go to the breakfasts!
