We usually go to an apple fest every year, and Missouri also has a Morell mushroom fest and several strawberry fests. Yum!
What food fests are in your area?

There are several apple festivals around here. A small town called Pumpkintown has a pumpkin festival. I can't think of any others right now, but there are a lot since there's a lot of good farmland around here. We've gone to a few and always had a good time.

Actually we do believe it or not...We have a Catfish Festival with Catfish, arts and crafts etc...

We also have Memphis in May which has wonderful BBQ!

Apple, Strawberry, Chocolate, Wine, Beer, Fish (Shad, ick), Ice Cream, Restaurant, Gingerbread and probably tons more I can't think of. :D

We have festivals of all kinds. We have a strawberry festival right smack downtown every year. Strawberries, short cake, whipped topping and icecream. It is delicious and they serve several thousand people.

Pittsburgh is a very ethnic area and on any given weekend you can usually find some kind of ethnic food fest going on. A LOT of churches use these as fundraisers. We see MANY Greek food fests, Slovak, Italian, Irish, German (particularly now), Indian. You can eat your way around the world by visiting these Food Fests! :)

I think it'd be easier to tell you what festival louisiana doesn't celebrate! LOL! We have a festival for almost everything!!

The Cornbread Festival is about an hour's drive away. A lady I work with is the event organizer. I've never been, and I can tell that bothers her.:o

The Garlic Festival is this Saturday, I never get to godue to work but I have heard its great, One price(15.00) covers all the Italian and wine sampling you can handle.

I haven't lived here long, so I don't know of many. But, there is this annoying trend around here to have a festival called "Taste of __(fill in name of city or area)__." I think it's a big sampling of area restaurants. I know there is Taste of Pinellas and Taste of Palm Harbor, and I think a Taste of Clearwater. How original, huh?

There are blueberry festivals, strawberry festivals, the lobster festival in Rockland, and even an egg festival.

I agree with Skuttle.....if it can be eaten, some town in Louisiana has a festival for it!:)
Crayfish, shrimp, catfish, jambalaya, yam,Boudin, sugarcane,& rice Festivals are all in towns minutes from where I live.

We have a lot of Apple festivals around here... Every year on Labor Day weekend, we have the Ethnic Festival where many different nations are represented... During the summer we have the Taste of Springfield... We also have Chili, Barbecue and Horseshoe cook-offs:D

We always have apple festivals - and a little further south of here they have this huge 3-day garlic festival..

One year my grown DD and I decided to check out the garlic festival as we're both pretty big garlic fans.. Let me tell you - we started to smell it from about 20 miles away and by the time we finally got there the odor was actually making us ill.. Then when we went to leave, we got tied up in the biggest traffic jam ever!! At one point my DD got SOOO frustrated she leaned out the car window and shouted to the oncoming cars, "It's garlic for God's sake! Not GOLD !!!!!! "

We still laugh about that - and have never felt the same about garlic since we sampled the garlic ice cream ..............

Ugh!!

Octoberfest....German food and beer. Also the Taste of Cincinnati every year.

Taste of Springfield, Taste of Cincinnati? OMG, they're everywhere!!!

We also have several Taste of " " festivals in our area. And some ethnic festivals such as Greek and Ukrainian.

In Houston, we had a wonderful Italian festival. Oh my, the food! :) And Conroe had a nice Cajun Catfish Festival.

We have the "Granddaddy" of all food festivals--The Taste of Chicago, held in late June thru early July.

We have a very lame seafood fest in July. There is also a King of the Grill contest in September.
