Does Space Mountain at WDW have music?

I could have sworn that the first time I rode Space Mountain at Disney World, there was music. When I rode the refurbished version I asked the CM when we were exiting the ride where the music was and he told me that ride never had music! I guess I must be crazy. I know SM at Disneyland has music but I really thought they both did. :confused3 I really hope Disney World updates their SM someday to be as awesome as it is at Disneyland. I don't even look forward to going on it anymore at DW. It's exciting going through the stars hearing that awesome music instead of hearing the sound of the cars on the track.

They recently just added what they call 'Starry-O-Phonic Sound' which is basically 60 speakers along the sides of the track which is more of a background music and not as loud as what you'll hear at DL's Space Mountain or on RnRC.Before I rode it with the new music I listened to the new music online and it sounded like some weird 70's disco so I was worried about what it would be like when I rode it,but after riding it I have to say I liked it,it wasn't very loud but you could hear it and felt that it worked,it wasn't amazing but it added something to the ride.

It's kind of weird, but I do think that it actually adds something to the ride. Sorts of fits in with the overall 70's feel of the ride (not counting the new games in the queue).

I don't think the Imagineers designed the ride with a "70's feel" to it.

It does have music now and it's soooooooooooo much better with it! Before music it was all silent and boring now it's fun! DD and I rode it in October about 5 times because there was no wait!

I'll be the lone dissenter and say I liked the ride better before the music. It just seems darker inside and the music isn't steady all thru the ride. It's not like RNR where the music is loud all the way. I barely noticed it.
