Does nudity=porn? I was called a pervert!

I'm torn. I don't like to think I'm prudish but I did google them and some were a little much and I wouldn't like my child to see them.

Now I was ok with the fishing one. I'm not offended by them but I didn't care for the golfing or the lawnmower/gardening ones and I don't think I'd want to deal with the questions those photos would bring.

ETA: I don't think it is porn at all.

My uncle is a minister. His sister was an artist that died when she was very young. He has a few of her nudes in his home. They are large and probably upset some of his parishioners. They have never been taken down.

Holy crap, that stuff is hilarious.:lmao: :rotfl2: I can see though why some wouldn't be comfortable with it. Still, if my 4 year old said something that made me concerned about seeing pics of naked bodies, I'd calmly approach my neighbor and ask to see what exactly my kid was exposed to before I headed for the cliff. Even if after seeing artwork that maybe I would have rather not had my child exposed to, I can't imagine threatening to call the police and getting so dramatic. I would just know better for next time.

First of all, he has no right to be mad since they asked you to have the child at your house.

As for the pornography, I guess I'd agree with him that some of those pictures fall in that category to me. Certainly erotic IMO. I had no problem with the tummy shots - I thought they were quite artful and clever. The breast shots didn't really bother me either. It was the ones with pubic hair that I wouldn't expect to see in public areas of a neighbor's house.

See, I'm ok with them because they aren't sexual. It's nothing the kids don't know about or haven't seen. I think they'd just laugh and find it a little strange if they saw them hanging in a house. Do you mean questions regarding body hair? Oh...I just saw the lawnmowing ones...HEDGE TRIMMERS...OMG....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Those are actually pretty amusing, and in no way porn. Whether or not it was appropriate for the neighbor's kid is beside the point. Were you supposed to tell the kid he couldn't use the bathroom? Were you supposed to remove art from your walls because you were trying to do a neighborly thing in an emergency? The only thing in this scenario in bad taste is the reaction you got from your neighbor.

I'd be pretty upset if I were you. Best thing would be to put it behind you.
Ok maybe that isn't the best phrase for this situation.;)

Nudity, in the form of art (distinct, tasteful art) is appropriate. Tell the guy to take his family to a art/history museum and LEARN!! They'll see naked people on every wall!!

Nude art is something you display on your walls.... Porn is something you hide...

Ok, I googled. A bit much for me to hang in my home, but your neighbor is a nutcase! He Totally overreacted IMO

You'd have to know my ds. It really isn't so much the body hair in general but he'd be asking about why they were mowing it and a zillion other specific questions that probably aren't Dis friendly.

Thinking about it more, I really think that is my issue rather than simply subject matter. I just know he wouldn't stop trying to discuss it and ask all sorts of questions I don't want to answer (I would and try not to giggle.)

But like I said, there is no way I'd consider it porn.

Who cares if they are porn or not (I haven't seen them), they shouldn't have busted down your door on 2 occasions (once when the girl got cut and 2 when the hubby had a fit) if they are that worried about it. Sounds like it was an emergency situation and had you said "No, I can't watch your child because you might be offended by my artwork" then they would've had a fit about that and called you rude for refusing to watch their child. You just can't win with some people. They should've been thankful you were there to help out and maybe teach their child something he obviously won't be getting at home - art lessons and about the human body!:scared1:

Your neighbor is a ungrateful, close minded idiot. You did him a favor. The first and only thing he should have done was simply be grateful to you and say thank you.

I'd have ripped him a new one if I were in your position.

OP can you be more specific. What ones do you have. Some no biggie at all- like the belly button ones. The riding bikes off a ***** well not something I would be thrilled with my kids seeing.
It's erotic art- is that porn? hmmm I don't think so. And I for sure would never be calling the cops on someone that had it. But realize that your whole neighborhood is going to be hearing about your porn from your nutcase of a neighbor.

funny stuff, not porn at all to me. I also wouldnt mind my 5 yr old seeing it, prob wouldnt hang it in his bathroom lol, but dont mind him seeing it!

He's a nutcase.

My mom had a few Victorian pictures in her bathroom of lovely ladies bathing with their hair up in Gibson do's. I always found them pretty and feminine, not pron.

My youth minister (a woman) had wallpaper like this in her bathroom. It was all black and white and actually still there and I am 43! Anyway, I remember the boys were always silly about that wallpaper!

No, I do not think it was porn. The Big turtle one cracked me up. :rotfl2: I can't believe someone would hang some of them on their walls, . Some are rather clever but the tennis ones were *dumb*. Out of place (not like the clever fishing one) and seemed like the thought was, "Hey, let's make one for tennis people.":rotfl:

I'm trying to think, at 4 would I have even gotten some of them? Probably not. Breasts yes. Others, not so much.

Crazy neighbor. Did he ever say thank you for taking care of his child during their emergency?

We do live in the United States of the Offended, don't we? ;) Some people are out there looking for any excuse possible to get into a tizzy about something.

Isnt it time to say that this thread is useless without the pictures of said pictures? ;)

I guess I am a prude. I think they look like what my kids would call "dirty" pictures. But I think my 4 year old has seen worse when we aren't diligent about flipping through the tv channels. I wouldn't hang them on my wall, bathroom or not, but I wouldn't be upset with someone else having them. Especially if they did me a favor by watching my child.

this was my reaction also.
