Does going to often ruin the magic???

I could never get sick of WDW! Every trip we do new things and that makes things exciting, but we still do traditional things because they are dear to our hearts.

I lived there for 6.5 months and went to the parks probably at least once a week.....and I loved every second of it. It's still magical and I can't wait until my spring break when I can go down again!

We did grow weary of some parts of WDW so we went to Disneyland so we could see the original and see the Pacific Ocean. What an amazing place. It blows away magic kingdom at WDW. We have gone two years in a row now. That being said we are thinking of returning back to WDW for our 20th anniversary. We have never gone without the kids to Disney nor any place.

We just got back a week ago but I am going to attempt to try to talk my DH into going back very soon. He is worried we will get tired of going and ruin the magic:wizard: . What do all of you think??????

It doesn't ruin the magic ... it changes it. Do you celebrate Christmas? Every Christmas is magical even though you may have experienced many. SOME people I know have a "been there done that" attitude with Disney. I think that attitude seperates Disney nuts from non-Disney nuts. If you love taking Disney trips it doesn't get old. You get USE to things but it's still all good. It's like "coming home!"

I go a lot of times a year (at least I did until they closed the Adventurers Club) and it wasn't a problem.

Without the club I will get weary of it. I'll go to Orlando but I have a Universal pass now and will go other places.

Ruin it?
That's the one thing that's Impossible at Disney.

In 2006, we had a 8 night trip, In 2007, we visited MK and MK only for 3 one day trips. In May, 2008, we visited another time and this year in Dec. we'll have another 8 night trip which gives us a grand total of going to MK 7 times in the last 18 months. (We live just over 2 hours away) plus 2 more times before this year is up. DH is sick and tired of MK. For me, I still love it, but I don't get that Wow feeling when I see the castle over and over like I did the first few times I saw it so I've decided that after this big trip coming up, I will not return to WDW until at least 2010. It may be longer than that if we decide to take a disney cruise in 2010 instead. This way, I'll miss it more and will really appreciate being there again and seeing new things next time around.

Not for me! I just got back from my 6th trip since December 2004 and plan on going again in May. Each trip has been just as magical as the first. New things happen, you discover new things, new shows, new attractions and the old ones are still as good. I get the same feeling seeing the enterance sign everytime. The same feeling when I see the castle or pull up to the resort or run into a character.

We try to go once a year. There was one trip a few years ago that was great but didn't feel as magical as the others and I thought that maybe we were going too often. After three months back at home, I was thinking about when to take the next trip and planning everything in my mind.

As other posters have said, I think the key is to try a few different things each trip. There are so many ways to make your own magic at Disney and there's just something special about being there.

My family could probably go every other year but for myself, I can't get enough of WDW - I love everything about it. If we lived closer, DH would probably need to send me to Disney rehab because I'd want to spend all my free time at WDW. :)

I've been going once a week every week since April and could not possibly get tired of Disney. The only week I did not go was during Hurricane Hanna, and man was I bummed! The important thing is to not expect others to create magic for you, but to create your own magic and share it around.

Lol, I've often wondered if there is such a thing as Disneyholics Annonymous...

Doesn't ruin it for me! We went last December/January (over New Year's) and then again in May. We are going back this December (well, atleast some of us!). I just don't get tired of it. :goodvibes

we went for 6 nights in May with DD & her friend, then just DH & I went for 6 nights again in September. We really, really enjoyed going again just a few months later. It was so much easier to just relax & enjoy the vacation...since we'd "done" all the biggies in May, didn't feel any real pressure to make sure & get all the good stuff in. We actually spent quite a bit of time doing things we usually don't get to (Like Carousel of Progress...what a hoot. No wonder we didn't miss it! Will probably go back to that in another 10 years, :rotfl: )

Was really nice to leisurely stroll around, sit & enjoy lunch, etc. instead of having to hurry-rush-to-next-thing all the time.

We love everything Disney and could never lose the magic!:wizard:

As two adults we were going every year. There was certainly a point that I wanted to get out of the world of Disney. (my DH on the other hand is happy going all the time). We ended up in a compromise - two trips a year. He could plan one and I did. (so Hawaii and Alaska we went).

NOW....we have a daughter and seeing Disney with her is like seeing it for the first time again.

My husband and I weren't really Disney fans until we had our son. He'll be 4 in a couple of weeks and has gone 9 times with 2 more trips scheduled by January (some of these have been in conjunction with cruises leaving from Port Canaveral). One thing I love is that there are still tons of things we haven't done. Every trip we eat at a new restaurant and try new rides. But we also love going back to our favorites and they're fun to look foward to!

OK so I'm not exactly a local living 4 hours south of Disney, but in 2007 I probably spent a good 25 days or so in Disney and the other Fl parks in about 15 trips throughout the year, some 2 and 3 day trips and YES a few 1 day trips meaning getting up at 4:30 am to make it to the parks by 9-10 am and driving back the same day getting home usually near 2am.If I can do this often and not get tired of it then it's gotta be something I must really like doing!!And yes we schedule visits for different events throughout the year, seeing different concerts at the EPCOT festivals,Christmas,Halloween events etc.. So there's always something different to see and experience. If you go back before 2007 there were some years I was probably doing more trips, however this year with the price of gas the trips have definitely been reduced, hopefully the prices keep dropping cause if they don't I seriously need to start looking for a place close to the parks!!!

Well, in my opinion once or twice a year does NOT ruin the magic!!
But, last year we went 5 times throughout the year, when we normally just go once in December. Well, by the time December came around I wasn't as excited to go as any other year. It didn't ruin the magic, it just wasn't as exciting for me.

So, after last Dec. we decided that for 2008 we would restrain ourselves, and hold off until this December. A hard feat, let me tell you! I am SOOOO excited, I can hardly wait- 46 days to go!!

So, my theory is that like in all things in life, if you have too much of it, it can stop being as "special".

Nope magic never gos away!!!!

Tim said get into pin trading and Disney will never get old LOL.
