Does everyone need an Annual Pass

We are planning 2 trips to WDW this year. It looks like an annual pass will be the best value for us (assuming there will be AP room only discounts and TIW discounts). But...If I am traveling with my 2 tween DDs, do I need APs for both of them too? Can I take advantage of the discounts (for everyone) using my AP and buy MYW tickets for them? TIA

Yep, you sure can.

One annual pass is good for one room bookings, and the TIW card is good for like up to 6 people. I even used my passholder discount one time with a party of 12, Thanksgiving day no less. I wasn't expecting it, but they did it anyways.

I can't think of any reason for every one to have a pass, unless it was cheaper than MYW tickets with no expiration.

I was wondering too...

I have an AP and might be considering a trip this fall with my BFF. I'm thinking about maybe tent camping at FW to keep it on the cheap, but we wouldn't spend any time at the site other than to sleep. I would definitely want to add a DP but since my friend doesn't have an AP, would we still be able to book it as an AP package and buy her ticket elsewhere?

One TIw card is good for up to 10 people at the table. The persons whose name is on the card must be present.

Only one pass, and the passholder need to be present to get the discount.

I don't think they will allow that.

They will let you buy a regular package with any discounts available to you such as free dining and exclude your ap from buying a ticket.

You will have to buy the package with one-day tickets.

Then go to guest services and add the number of days (and any other options) needed to your friend's ticket. Save your ticket and you can either use it in the future or apply it to the cost of you next AP renewal.

AP holders CAN book room + dining with an AP room-only discount. They do not have to buy additional tickets thru Disney to make a package. I don't know if this also applies to the Campgrounds.

If the PP wants free dining in the fall, then they would have to book a package including tickets. But again, that would exclude the Campgrounds and if staying in a resort room, they would have to purchase 2 day tickets.

is the only place to buy these annual passes thru disney ??

where can I get them ... call them or via disney site ... are there any promos on the annual pass themselves... thanks !

reading thru these threads in the past ..you can get room only rates at discounts prices for deluxe for as much as 40% off.. can you do better rates with an annual pass ?
wondering what the advantage is for booking room only .. as I see all sorts of discounts if you follow these threads and book without any annual pass.

thanks ..

There's several discounts associated with the AP, park merchandise, park tours, resort, dining, and even the occasional "test out this new ride".

The AP discount is more than most other discounts that are offered at the same time.

So say,
Regular Guest is a 20% discount
AAA is a 25% discount
Florida Resident is a 30% discount
and Passholder is a 35% discount

You also have to remember that there's only a certain block of rooms with that discount. Say 100 rooms for each discount. Well, if you miss out on the Passholder rate, then you can try for the Resident rate.

More you have available, it's more likely to get a bigger discount.
