I've never been bit (actually attacked) by them at disney but my dad lives in Merritt Island and attack me the entire time I am outside.

It's Florida. They might do it, but "life finds a way", to quote Jurrasic Park.

Disney has an amazing pest control team. You don't have to worry

I was just wondering because they have never bothered me at WDW or US but I am eaten alive at my dad's. We are wanting to move to Florida. Closer to Disney maybe 30 min. away. But, I can't live there if I can't go outside with being eaten alive.

Well, even if they did (and I don't know), it wouldn't matter if you live 30 minutes away. That said, I've never had a problem with them in all my 38 years in Orlando. (Or Merritt Island where my brother lives either, though, so maybe they just don't like me.). When I was a kid, the only time anyone I know had problems was when we were camping.

They don't really bother my dad, stepmother, or my dh or dd. But they do my other dd and myself. Maybe we're allergic to them. We have to take benadryl and use different types of creams for the redness, inflammation, and itching. My dd had been bitten all up her legs and on her buttocks in March. I'm going to try this noseum spray and Vicks vapor rub when I go in June.

We were at OKW in March. Had wine and appetizers on porch. They were a problem until I turned on porch fan. Then they went away. But I don't get bit just annoyed.

We just returned from 5 nights at the Boardwalk Inn. We were in a room facing the inner courtyard, on the 5th floor. Every time I sat out on the balcony during the day, I would see the no-see-ums land on the screen of my iPad. They didn't bite me, but I know there were some on me and made me feel itchy. I live in Florida, so I know what they look like.

I never had a problem at Disney, BUT, take me to any beach in Florida and I am always attacked. No one else in our party, just me. I came home one time so full of bites, I had to go to the Dr. to get treated. I walked into the Dr. office and when he walked in and saw me said, "so you have been to Florida!" Does not keep me from the beach though.

I have to admit to being educated here today. I have been around for almost 68 years and today is the first time I ever heard of such a thing (bug). I don't remember ever being bitten by one or had any unexplained bits in my life. Well, live and learn I guess. If this had been April 1st, I would have just skipped over this thread, but, now I'm smarter then when I started reading it.

I didn't even know noseums bit. Hmmmm. Disney has all kinds of pest controls, not just spray. I believe their main way of pest control is actually using predators. I think you can read about it.
