I booked online with Entertainment rate just assuming my DC membership card would qualify me for the discount. Now I am thinking about it, and just want to make sure my assumption was correct. I sure hope so...I'd like to squeeze as much out of it before 12/31/03. Please advise!

Hi 3PRINCESSMOM,

The Entertainment Card has nothing to do with the DC. The Entertainment Card comes with the Entertainment book which can be ordered via their website at www.entertainment.com for about $25. The book has hundreds of coupons in it and you can easily make your original investment back in savings.

Actually, the DC does have something to do with Entertainment. I don't know about HIFS specifically, but last year we used our DC card for a condo in Cape Canaveral...we got it for 50%! I just showed the Entertainment logo on the back of the card, and no problem. I've booked a Holiday Inn in Cocoa Beach, checking in just before the end of the year, and got a great rate using Entertainment. I'm not expecting any trouble when I check in, so I would assume you wouldn't have trouble at HIFS, either, as long as you're checking in by Dec 31 (and it sounds like you are). Maybe someone else who has done it will reply.

Supposedly the DC card does not count for discounts in the Orlando area. Something to do with how Disney set up the arrangement with Entertainment card folks.

I know exactly what the Entertainment book is. I have had them in the past. However, I thought the affiliation the Disney Club had with the Entertainment Card was an equivalent one regarding hotel discounts. I never knew anything about the possible Orlando area blackout!!!

What do I do now? Risk it, or order and 2004 Entertainment book? I have to say, we didn't use very many coupons the last time we got one. Loved them when they had the Dunkin Donuts coupons. Those alone made the purchase worth it for my family.

This is an unexpected dilemna.

Actually, now that kylara mentions it, I remembered that I didn't just pick any hotels...I went to the DC website, and followed the link to the Entertainment site, which then gave me a list of the participating hotels in whatever city I typed in. So, I'm sorry, but I think kylara may be correct. However, you would need the 2003 book, wouldn't you? I thought they were all on sale recently (if you can still get it).
Good luck!

Since I can use Mary's connection from Mousesavers, for the discount and get free shipping, I am going to order my local Entertainment book to be on tha safe side. However, which year will I need, 2003 or 2004?

I know that most of the coupon offers run from Nov.1 thru Nov. 1 the following year. Do the hotel savings offers run on a different timeline? I would, obviously, rather invest in the 2004 book in order to derive a greater benefit.

PLEASE HELP!!!

The rate is phenominal, but this is beginning to turn into a nightmare. I think I am going to call HIFS directly and ask about the DC card working for the discount.

I was told that you just need to have a valid entertainment card. I bought the 2004 book. All the coupons say valid "now through Nov 1, 2004". So either card would work. Debbie

2003 books expired on November 1, so buy the 2004 book. It's valid now.

Have fun!
